Caden turned and curled into her, trying to push it out of his mind. "I'll figure it out, somehow." He whispered, making more of a promise to himself then her.

Rose didn't respond, continuing to trace lines on his back

How do I admit to it? How do I tell her I failed? He thought, having not realized he was overthinking so much that tears had started slowly streaking over his face, mainly from stress.

Rose felt his body shift slightly and sat up, noticing the tears. "Oh, love, what's wrong?" She asked softly, sitting up and placing his head in her lap while she ran her fingers through his hair

"Alot of things, Rose, alot of things." He croaked, hesitating for a moment. "I got fired.I keep asking for reasons and they just hang up, tell me I'm 'not qualified'.I should be fine without a job for a while but the taxes are nuts, they'll eat me alive.And now I don't know what to do and there's no other job right now that would take my resume considering the gang, when I was arrested, you know, that stuff.I just.....I feel like I failed.I feel like I failed us." Caden confessed, the words coming out quicker then he could process.

Rose listened, her thumb gently stroking his cheek. "No, love, you didn't fail." She said, gently shaking her head

Caden just stayed silent, the tears slowing a little, still not budging on having failed.

"Caden, look at me. You're so strong, sweet, loving, kind, handsome....I could go on for ages." She starts, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "And this is just a small bump in the road of life. We'll get throguh it, okay?"

"Sure..." He muttered, slightly beleiving her now.

"I love you. That won't change." She vowed
