The girl shook her head slightly and gave half of a chuckle when the boy choked out his comment. She just kind of smiled and curled around him a little bit tighter. She still felt her chest burning for him, still unable but feel awful for him. He just didn't seem used to people trying to help him at all, and that was all she wanted to do. "You can cry if you'd like it," she hummed lightly with a little bit of a chuckle. She didn't really like seeing him ball his eyes out... but again, if they was what he felt like doing, she'd sit through it for as long as he needed.

Sage hummed and nodded, leaning into the girl gratefully. "I know," he sighed. "But I cry too much," he muttered. He cried over so much now...and really, he didn't like it, not at all. Sometimes crying did help...but he felt like he'd lost his ability to cope with things up to a certain point. Besides, he knew Mari didn't want to hear him sob his eyes out again, so he sort of just cuddled up into the girl and wrapped his arms around Amber, who'd began to try and lick the dampness off of his cheeks. He let her lick him as he stroked the kitten, suddenly very thankful to have gotten this one. She seemed to know when he was struggling...she could probably sense when he was down, which was something no human could really do, not in that way. His felt his eyes welling up again, much to his annoyance. "I love you kitty," he sort of sniffles, groaning slightly at the crack in his voice and burying his head in the cats fur, wishing he could just bury into Mari and the cat and never leave again.

Mari shook her head slightly and curled around him again... really, she didn't care what he did. She just wanted to hold him. She closed her eyes when he went to bury his head into kitten, and nestled herself under the blanket. She didn't mind him like this... she didn't like it, obviously, but if he needed her then that was fine. She eventually found herself slipping off to sleep, though... she was exhausted, from both the day and trying to process Sages feelings... from feeling so hurt over someone else. She never thought she'd be so hurt over someone she wasn't even related to... but she was. And his every pain seemed to hurt so much more than anything else.

Sage sort of lay there for a while, holding onto the cat and girl until he noticed Mari slipping off to sleep. He chuckled slightly and curled into her, more than happy to sleep for a while. He was certainly tired enough, after crying for so long. His head hurt, and he was more than happy to close his eyes and let the world drift away. Amber had started to lick him again, and he sort of stroked her tiredly for a moment before falling asleep. He wasn't sure if Mari was still awake or not, and he didn't particularly care. Really, a nap cuddled up together would probably help both of them feel much better. And he was ok with that...it was warm and cozy, and he certainly didn't mind cuddling with the girl.

The girl smiled softly as she slept and wrapped her arms a little bit tighter around him. She was just exhausted... and that made her wonder how Sage felt. He was the one that was actually going through this all. She briefly had to think about herself, though... she knew he couldn't help what he had to do for a living... but it was strange to think he'd been with so many people. Especially if there were going to get more... intimate as time went on. She just wasn't sure how she felt about it. But she did know that she loved him... that she'd do anything for him, and surely that meant more than anything else. It wasn't that she was upset about it or anything, but it was definitely a strange though, and also one she just didn't want in her head.

Sage was more than content to let himself drift off. He stayed in a rather light sleep for quite some time, though it was nice even though it was pretty light. He woke up a few hours later, though kept his eyes closed and continued to just lay there. He wasn't willing to open his eyes or move ...he didn't get this kind of peace often, or this kind of warmth and comfort, so he would definitely take all he could get. Amber had fallen asleep by then too, curled up in a tiny ball in his arms. He smiled slightly and hugged her closer, careful not to wake the animal.

The girl slept for a fair while... she hadn't really realised how tired she was. Maybe she was getting a bit too used to sleeping so much. She never normally got more than six hours of sleep... so maybe her body was ouch catching up on what it needed. But she was warm, and cozy... and waking up seemed like a chore. She eventually untangled herself from the boy before rolling over to hug onto the pillow and burying her head into it in her sleep. She could afford to sleep for just a little bit longer, right? She was sure if Sage needed her he'd wake her up at some point... but he had Amber keeping him company for now, so she assumed he'd be alright.

Sage noticed the girl roll away and he buried himself deeper into the covers, pressing his back against hers lightly to keep the warmth around him. He didn't mind the girl rolling away...she didn't have to be next to him every second. She had her own life, and he couldn't take that away from her. Either way, it was still comfortable, and he was still curled up with Amber, so it would all be alright. He was calm now, and didn't really need the girl to hold him. He'd always gladly take it, but some days or times were just worse than others.

The girl got comfortable against the pillow, and her light sleep eventually got deeper the longer she slept. She was happy... sleepy, but happy. As happy as she could be after what she'd just heard from the boy. He seemed a little bit better after just cuddling in the quiet for a little bit. It wouldn't be a permanent fix for him, but if it helped then she could cuddle up when he was in a slightly worse state. He had Amber, too, and she definitely helped him... and the boy clearly loved the kitten. After a little bit, the girl rolled back over and slipped a hand under his shirt, her head resting on his back as she slowly started to wake up a little bit more.

Sage was content to lay there for as long as the girl wanted. It was peaceful, and warm, and he did enjoy it all. He definitely felt better after some peace and rest, and a comforting environment. He felt a smile creep on his face when he felt the girl roll back over towards him, and his usual blush when he felt her hand slip under his shirt and press against his skin. He wasn't sure why she always did that, but he definitely wasn't complaining about it.
