The girl hummed softly in response to the boy... she knew the doctor would look after the ward, so it wasn't like everyone would die while she was here. She could relax, and I mean really relax for the first time in a while. She wasn't really used to just letting this kind of thing happen... and it was pretty obvious it'd been a long while since she'd actually tried to be a little bit more in charge of the more intimate aspects of a... whatever this was. She was just happy to be with Sage right then, though... he'd been patient with her, and she could only be happy with that. With him. She sighed a little bit and slipped her leg back in between his as she tried to get just a bit closer to him, and got comfortable of course. She closed her eyes and let out a heavy breath, just starting to drift off to sleep.

Sage let out a type of breathy chuckle when the girl slipped her leg in between his again, though of course he quite enjoyed pressing up against her. He was glad they had the chance to do this, and he was suddenly very thankful that the girl hadn't judged him and never talked to him...he knew his first impression was, well....pretty awful, and quite a few bad impressions came after the first one, but he'd grown to like the girl. He let himself drift off soon enough, really just glad to be able to relax and bring in her scent for a while. It was just nice to be able to take a day and screw around a bit.

Mari buried her head into his neck a little more before she finally slipped off to sleep... she knew well enough that this might not have happened if she hadn't been very well forced into it by the doctor. Because of hat was what had happened. She probably would have given up with him if the doctor hadn't told her he was just struggling... for some reason, she thought he'd be entitled because he had the princess's good word, but it was quite the opposite... he really did just need a bit of a help with things, and she could be that help for him. And she was so grateful she'd gotten to know the boy the way she had... he meant the world to her now. And, to be honest she probably wouldn't believe he felt the same way... because there was no way you could feel so much love for someone the way she felt love for him... especially in such a short space of time.

Sage slept lightly, but happily, for a bit of time. He didn't sleep for super long...maybe an hour or so, based off the afternoon light filtering in through the window, but it was a nice rest all the same. He closed his eyes again though, not willing to get up and move quite yet. It was probably getting close to dinner time, so they'd have to get up and eat something at some point in time, but for now he chose not to worry about that and to just be in the moment, with Mari. Amber had crawled into the bed at some point, and had curled up on the side of his pillow, where she was quietly snoring. A soft smile crept onto his face at the sound....it seemed crazy that he could learn to love something so quickly...whether it was Mari or the cat, he'd do anything for either of them, and he hadn't known them all that long. He'd only had Amber for a few days. But he was certainly glad he could, and that he did....there wasn't anything that could be better than this. Unless, of course, he and Mari ended up married and with children. He chided himself for that thought though...it was a bit early to think about marriage, wasn't it? They hadn't been together all that long.

Mari slept quietly for a while... definitely longer than she'd meant to, but she found it was welcomed. She always enjoyed curling up with Sage... but right now it was even more. Maybe it was because she was tired, or maybe even the way the sun streamed through the windows, making everything seem just a bit brighter... she didn't know, it was just... peaceful. She woke up maybe and hour and a half later, still curled up next to the boy quietly. She was surprised she hadn't been called out to do work... but she supposed he knew she was in there with Sage, and even if he didn't know what was going on, he probably just wanted to leave the boy be so that he was happy. She couldn't help but wonder what a future with him would look like, though... he still had so many issues from his past, and she didn't know if it would cause him any issues in the long run. But she didn't need to think about that. Whatever this was, it was barely a thing, so one step at a time would be... smart.

Sage hummed a quiet hello when he felt the girl stir next to him. He was still wrapped around her, and she was still curled up around him, so he really didn't want to be very loud and ruin the peace. Besides, Amber was still asleep and he didn't want to wake the kitty up either. The doctor seemed to have taken care of everything...he could dimly hear his voice handing out food, probably dinner. More rocks from the cook. Maybe they should go cook something for their own meal...it would definitely be better than whatever the cook had made.

The girl just kind of sighed in response to his quiet hello... she was still barely awake, so to be honest she was a tiny bit disoriented. She knew she was safe and warm and that was about it. She just curled into him more... his warmth and scent and even just the calming sensation of his skin against hers was nice in a way she couldn't even begin to explain. She'd have to get him into her room at some point... mainly because there were more than curtains keeping them from the rest of the world, and also because it was her space... and she kind of wanted to share it with him. He'd been in her house, and stayed in that room, but she was here a lot more, and while it still wasn't nice by any means, it was still hers. She wanted to buy a house of her own at some point... she'd been saving since she was about sixteen, but finding somewhere that was liveable was... difficult. Especially around here, where people generally stayed in the same house their whole life. She didn't want to work in the castle forever, though... so she would eventually have to move, especially if it'd give her family extra space.

Sage chuckled slightly at the girl's quiet hum and scoot into him, so he sort of just hugged her a bit tighter. After a moment he absentmindedly began running his fingers through her hair...he wasn't really sure why but hey, it was a nice gesture he supposed. And the girl seemed to like to so it wasn't hurting anything. He did wonder if the girl would want to do this in her room.... curtains only did so much, after all. He wasn't going to ask and I trude, though. That was her space, and she'd share it if she wanted to.

She smiled softly when the boy started to run his fingers through her hair... she wasn't overly sure why he was doing it, but it felt nice... almost like she was being looked after, which was definitely something she liked. She'd been taking care of other people for so long... not just in the ward, but at home and with the queen... being looked after was just something she didn't get, no matter how much she craved it. She didn't care too much... it just meant she appreciated it more when it happened. She sat quietly for a while before letting out a heavy breath and leaning back to press a soft kiss to his lips... they should get up for dinner soon, but she just wanted to wake up slowly for the time being.

Sage couldn't help the goofy grin the formed on his face in response to the girl's kiss. He looked down at her happily and patted her back slightly, figuring she was also thinking they'd have to get up and eat soon. But they could stand to wake up first. "Why don't we take our time waking up and then make our own food," he hummed quietly. "I don't feel like eating rocks tonight. I'm hungry." He wasn't usually this hungry...he supposed that was another benefit of this particular kind of activity...it was enough exercise to make him eat a full meal. The thought was rather amusing, but really he just wanted Mari's cooking. And he definitely did not want the cooks cooking. It just wasn't very good.
