Sage gave the girl a grin when she mentioned poisoning the queen's tea. "it's possible," he chuckled. "though I'm not sure I can see you poisoning anyone, let alone the queen," he admitted. He shrugged and chuckled after a moment. "you probably remind her a bit of Anya," he admitted. He gave the girl a mischievous grin at her comment about kidnapping her. "Oh, I think I'll enjoy it anytime I do," he chirped before nodding at her directions and shrugging when she said she'd be frying the chicken. "That's fair," he hummed. "With my luck I'd end up burning the castle down just now that it's fixed.," He noted with amusement.

Mari hummed softly to the boy before gently bumping his side. "I don't think you know me well enough to be making those assumptions," she mused lightly. Of course, she wouldn't do that to the queen... or anyone, for that matter, but it was an amusing thought. She then cocked her head at the boy with a small kind of frown. "Why? Do I remind you of her?" It wasn't something that would normally bother her, but she didn't want the boy to love her because she reminded him of someone that used to care about him... she didn't want to be that person. She then smiled slightly to the boy before starting to dunk the chicken in the egg. "I promise I'll be better next time," she mused quietly. "I'm not used to the way things went, to be honest," she hummed before beckoning the boy over and showing him how to sort the chicken out. "This is easy," she hummed lightly before flicking a little bit of flour at him with a grin.

Sage chuckled lightly and shrugged before wandering over to peek over the girls shoulder and see what she was doing. "There's some things here and there, but like ..you're the same age and whatnot so I'd assume she'd see a bit of Anya in you at times," he hummed. He chuckled slightly and shook his head slightly. "You were fine," he hummed lightly. Then he reached for the chicken, squeaking out a complaint as she flicked flour at him and sending a bit back at the girl playfully before reaching for the chicken again.

Mari shrugged a little before wrinkling her nose. "I suppose... but I have to admit, I think she likes me more," she told him with a bit of a laugh. Obviously, it wasn't true, but she could still joke about it. The woman had never really been horrible to Mari... so she supposed she had to remind her of Anya a tiny bit. She then rolled her eyes at him. "Please, it was awful," she mused before shaking her head. "I lost my nerve," she admitted with a bit of a laugh. She giggled at his little squeak, then let one out of her own when the boy flicked a tiny bit back at her. She huffed out a breath once she'd finished the bit she was on. "Dunk it again once you've done that... I'll get the pan going," she chirped brightly.

Sage chuckled and grinned at the girl in response to her comment. "Well she has good taste for liking either of the two of you," he hummed and then rolled his eyes. "if you say so," he hummed, "but you were fine." He nodded in response to the girl and dunked some of the chicken again. Amber had come over by then and was watching him with wide eyes. After a moment, she kept forward and tried to bat at athe stuff in the bowl, almost spilling it everywhere. Sage yelped and grabbed the kitten before she could make much of a mess with one hand, catching the bowl with the other. "Amber," he squeaked in a complaining manner. "don't do that!" In response, she just looked up at him innocently, whiskers twitching slightly.

The girl scoffed at him before shrugging. "She's a classy woman - she's got to like the both of us," she mused lightly she caught the cat coming over from the corner of her eyes, and smiled slightly. Though, she didn't expect the little thing to attack the batter mix. She couldn't help but laugh at the sight. She grabbed the bowl from Sage and put it back up on the side before going to get a little tea towel and wiping the little cats face off with it, just so that she wasn't covered in white flour. "Cheeky thing," she mused lightly before shaking her head.

Sage huffed out a breath and shook his head as Mari went to wipe the cat off. "She's something all right," he grumbled, though in a rather fond manner. Really, it was amusing...though she would have to stay out of trouble or the queen (or someone else) was likely to have a hissy fit about something. He set the chicken down to help Mari clean the cat off, and the little prick just looked pleased at the fact that she was getting so much attention. He set the kitten down in his lap once she was clean, holding her there and petting her to keep her content as he finished the chicken strips with the other hand.

Mari hummed in agreement, a small smile still on her face as she scrubbed the little cat off. She chuckled at the comment with a little shake of the head after a moment or so. "She's a sweetheart, aren't you a baby?" the girl chirped as she leaned down to peck the kitten on the top of the head, then went to peck Sage on the cheek before she turned to chuck some of the strips that they'd finished off the on the pan. It already smelled good... and she was admittedly getting hungrier by the second. The little tortoise cat still seemed very proud of the fact she'd defeated the big bad bowl of flour, though, and it was very amusing... she'd gone a kind of shade of grey now because of the powder. She set some of the chicken strips off to cool while Sage handed her the ones he'd finished off to fry... they'd be done soon enough.

Sage rolled his eyes and huffed out a breath, though if course not in a way that told either the girl or the cat he was actually upset. "shes trouble," he snorted, though he felt a dumb grin creep in his face in response to her girls peck. He was actually getting really hungry, and as the girl set down some strips to cool down he slowly reached over and slid a strip over to him and gave one to amber, hiding it under the table and setting it in the chair for the cat to munch away on. He shoved the strip in his own mouth quickly, not knowing when the girl would turn back around.

The girl shook her head a little bit, a small chuckle escaping her. "You're both trouble so I suppose it's fine," she mused lightly. She didn't notice when the boy stole some of the strips, but when she turned around to grab some plates as saw the boy munching away on the strip, she couldn't help her laugh. "You're a nightmare!" She told him with a teasing laugh. She wasn't actually angry... more amused than anything. They had more than enough now, so it didn't really matter if he stole an extra one or two. She reached back to grab a handful of the flower and kind of half heartedly chucked it at him before grabbing some plates and setting them down on the table. "That's what you get," she huffed in a pretty amused tone.
