Varys had already gotten a few miles ahead, leaving Elara as their line of defense as they made their way through the woods. She supported Sage alot, keeping him moving as they picked their way through the brush, finding clearer areas to go just a second or two faster.

Sage was glad Varys had gone ahead...that way Liz wasn't there completely alone. It took most of the night to get back to the cabin with Elara, and once they staggered into the cabin and he noticed Varys and Liz perfectly fine, the baby still sleeping peacefully, he had used the last of his energy. His body just ...gave out on him, and he let out a relieved sigh before promptly passing out as his eyes rolled back upwards into his head and he collapsed onto Elara.

Elara had just staggered in when Sage collapsed, taking her down with him. She looked at him and almost shreiked, the only view of his eyes being white before they fully fluttered shut. The woman sighed, hoisting him up and dragging him onto the bed where she set him down and pulled the covers up over him before calling Varys over to lay next to him so when Sage awoke he'd have something to look forward to. Elara then walked over to the couch before lying down and almost instantly drifting off.

Sage slept deeply for a while ...he supposed passing out did that to a man. He woke from a nightmare about halfway through the night, lurching upwards in bed and only barely keeping quiet. It hurt like hell though, so he doubled over in pain, panting, only calming down when he felt Varys lick his cheek, the wolf able to get him out of his head. He calmed down after a moment, once he realized where he was at, and then lay back down slowly, this time curling up with Varys before drifting off into another deep sleep.

Sage slept rather well the rest of the night, and thankfully Amy didn't show up at any point. She'd likely gone out to a tavern somewhere and gotten too drunk to notice he was gone. She'd show up sooner or later, he knew that, but maybe they'd have a day or two. He woke probably close to noon, shifting slightly with a groan. Everything still hurts like hell, but he was curled up in a comfortable bed, where he knew he was safe. And he had quite enjoyed cuddling with Varys ...he liked his creature comforts, though had never really had anyone to cuddle with before. So the animal was nice. He noticed Elara moving around the cabin, and half sat up with a groan, leaning against the headboard, running his hands over his face in an attempt to wake himself up a bit. "Morning," he sort of mumbled. "What time is it," he added with a heavy breath of air.

Elara was gutting a deer outside, looking for a certain knife. "Morning," She muttered, focused on the task. "Eh, around noon." She told him, finding the knife and grinning as she cleaned it off and set it aside. The woman went and got a glass bottle with medicine and handed it to Sage, "Take a sip of this, it numbs half of it." She instructed, lighting up as Varys came over to her and flopped on his side, asking for scratches.

Sage has nodded in response to her comment, yawning and then stiffly reaching for the bottle when she handed it to him, raising the bottle to his lips almost heasitantly. He trusted her ...he knew it was medicine. But amy has slipped him things on numerous occasions, and they weren't for his own good. He did take a sip of the medicine though, and he did start to feel better afterwards. "Thanks," he noted with a tired sigh, watching Varys greet her happily.

Elara nodded in response to him, scratching Varys before standing once more. "You stay here, let your body just relax for a while. Tell me if you need anything, 'kay?" She asked, waiting for a response. Once he did she walked out after sheathing the dagger, finishing with the deer.

Sage just nodded when she mentioned staying relaxed in bed. "Not sure I can do much else," he noted with a slight chuckle, though he wasn't sure how amused he really was about it. He didn't like just sitting around, but he definitely didn't want to do anything but sleep at the moment.
