The girl kept on going like that for a little while... she did like it, of course she did... she liked the way he wriggled around beneath her, and the rise and fall of his chest moved her up and down in a kind of rythem... she liked that he wasn't scared to let her do this, mostly. And that she wasn't scared of him, either... she wanted this, him, she really did. She wanted him to feel good, and to feel just how much she loved him... because words just didn't seem to be quite enough. He could let go, too... because they were out of the way, and not many people called on her during the day, so they'd be alright.

Sage wasn't really sure how long they continued like that, but he definitely wasn't complaining. He did like this...it felt nice, but he also liked to feel how much the girl wanted him. Not just his body, of course, but just...him. it was a nice change from no one wanting anything but his body. And...he had to admit it was nice to be able to let go too, since they had nothing to hide. And no one was around, either, so they had plenty of time too mess around like this. It all seemed so funny to him, how the girl could be holding him in a vulnerable position, nipping at an area where a major vein was pulsing, and he felt more safe than he did when he was perfectly alone. He didn't know why that was, besides the simple fact that he loved her, a lot, but he didn't exactly think much past it. He didn't care why...he just liked it, feeling so safe and happy.

Mari kept going like that for a while and eventually reached to entwine one of her hands with his... not in a pin or anything, just holding him. To be close to him in every way she could... that was all she wanted. It was strange, how she could go from barely knowing someone to having this much love for someone and trusting them so much in such a short space of time. But it was nice... and she really didn't want it to end. She found herself wondering if he'd stay with her... if she could spend her life with this wonderful man, who she just couldn't seem to get her mind off. An hour or so passed, and eventually, once they'd finished up the girl flopped down next to him, her chest heaving rapidly. Despite being exhausted now, she couldn't help her stupid grin, nor the fact that she still had a soft hold of his hand.

Sage felt a grin form on her face when the girl took hold of his hand and laced his fingers up with the girl's happily. Once they'd worn themselves out, he was more than happy to just curl up to the girl and close his eyes again. It was fine to go to sleep at that time ...it was late enough, he supposed. And why not, after everything they'd just done. He could feel the bruises already forming on his neck, and he couldn't happen but feel a bit giddy about the marks the girl had given him. He wasn't sure why...but with Anya, he'd always had to hide them, so maybe that was why he was so happy about not having to hide them. Of course, the doctor would probably tease him about it all, but he didn't think that really mattered all that much.

Mari got comfortable next to the boy after pressing a softer kiss to his jaw and curling into his side. She murmured a kind of goodnight to the boy before closing her eyes, though it wasn't like she was exactly going to get to sleep any time soon. Her heart was still pounding at her, and there was a kind of adrenaline that was still rushing its way around her body... yet, despite all that, she was so happy to just sit with the boy... to curl up with him again. It was strange, but nice all the same. Her hand was still curled around his, and eventually, she did get to sleep, after about twenty or so minutes and just resting her head on his shoulder and listening to the soft beats of his heart. (Do you want to do a little bit of a time skip? Maybe a week or two to move things on a little bit. We could have Mari starting to feel a bit ill at that point if we wanted to have her pregnant now?)

(I was just going to suggest that lol! That's fine with me xD) Sage felt a soft smile form on his face when the girl turned to him and curled up. He wrapped his arms around her happily, heart calming down the more they rested there. He fell asleep soon enough, hoping that things would continue like this for a long, long time. His hopes were carried down through the next few weeks, as he and the girl continued to spend lots of time together. Amber had grown too, a lot....he supposed the first bit of time kittens did grow quite a bit. They'd taken to sleeping in maris room at night, with Amber curled up in the corner. She'd occasionally climb in with them through the night, which both of them enjoyed. But it had been nice ...peaceful. And he hoped that it would continue to be that way.

The next few weeks just seemed to be a bit of a blur for Mari... but it was definitely in a good way. She could very well say that she'd never been happier... and she didn't want it to end. She had spent a lot of time with Sage, when she probably should have been working, but the doctor just seemed happy that Sage was and left them to it. Of course, she still did the jobs she had to, but most of it was done with Sage at her side. She'd come around a little bit with the horses, too. They still scared the living daylights out of her, but she liked seeing Sage happy with them, so she would soon get used to it. Little Amber had become a pretty good mouser over the few weeks too... she'd grown a lot, so she supposed it was just easier for her. She'd started cooking dinner for her and Sage again, too, which was what was happening right then. Well, they cooked together, but it was mainly her cooking and the man fiddling with whatever sharp object he had right then.

Sage had decided to draw the girl cooking one day while she was busy. It was around lunch time, but they'd slept in, so it was really just their breakfast, and he was admittedly still a bit drowsy, so sitting and drawing seemed nice to him. Amber was curled up in his lap happily, watching the events in the kitchen with wide eyes. She occasionally tried to reach out and bat at his pencil, since she liked the scratching noise it made, but she never ruined a drawing, thankfully. It was a nice, sunny day out, and he was rather excited to go about his day with the girl. It was warm now, spring, and everything was turning green outside again. But, with the nice changes came the rain...and a sunny day like this had been rather rare, so he was excited to go visit the horses and screw about outside. Maybe have a picnic of some kind.

The girl had made up some kind of french toast with some other bits and bobs on the side... to be honest, it wasn't much, but it was a nice bit of snack. It was kind of just a pick mix for the two of them, but it was nice enough. She was a bit sleepy, but they hadn't woken up too long ago. She'd noticed a kind of heat run through her, along with a sudden wave of nausea... it wasn't bad, though. It'd happened a few times over the last few days so she kind of just took a moment to breathe before turning to the boy with a plate full of food. She leaned over him and placed the little plate just to the side of his drawing, a light smile across her face as she wrapped her arms around him from behind and rested her head on his shoulder. "What are you drawing this time?" She asked in a kind of jokey way as she placed a little peck on his cheek. Edited at March 9, 2023 12:06 PM by Belle

Sage looked up from his drawing when he heard the plate land on the table next to him and he looked up at the girl with a grin when she wrapped her arms around him. "You," he hummed lightly looking down at the drawing again. "I'm not done though," he admitted. It was there, and it was fine, but it wasn't able to be finished because it wasn't perfect. He reached for the food though, setting the pen down. He was a bit hungry, he supposed...so the food would be good.
