The girl smiled slightly to the doctor and gave a small chuckle. "I do try and eat... it just makes me feel ill. It's like I have a constant migraine... and it's not overly helpful," she admitted with a bit of a sigh. "I haven't actually thrown anything up... but it feels like it. I can't sleep, or be on me feet for too long. It's just uncomfortable," she told he man quietly. She still didn't really want to be here... but if he had something that would help her feel even just a little bit better, then she would hang in just a tiny bit longer before going to hide in a dark room somewhere to at least try and get to sleep.

The doctor grunted and nodded, humming thoughtfully. "I do believe I know what's wrong with you," he hummed. "At least, I have an idea... describe the stomach pain more. Where it's at, what it feels like, if it's worse at certain times of the day or night, stuff like that," he directed the girl. He was pretty sure he knew what was wrong....but he didn't want to be wrong and leave something untreated if there was actually something wrong with the girl. He also didn't want to scare her or anything if it wasn't what he was thinking.

She frowned at the man after a moment or two. "You're being cryptic," she huffed. She did wish her just tell her so she could get on with her day. She hummed in thought for a moment or two before shrugging. "It's always sore, like I'm hungry, but I can't bring myself to eat anything. In the morning is the worse, I suppose." The girl hummed quietly. "And when I eat certain foods... the smell makes he nauseated," she told him as she leaned back against the she'd again, realising he wasn't going to let her go until he'd told her what was up. Well, that was fine, she supposed. She just hoped he'd be quickish. Edited at March 10, 2023 09:20 AM by Belle

The doctor hummed and nodded, having rather expected that answer, though he snorted in response to the girl's first comment. He sort of leaned back in his chair and rested his hands on his stomach, lacing his fingers together. "It's called an aversion," he hummed. "quite common for women in your ..condition," he hummed. "There's not much I can do for you, besides give you something for the pain," he informed the girl with a slight shrug. "But I do expect you to come check in for the length of the time this continues," he informed her, leaving no room for an argument. He was rather amused at the fact that the girl hadn't realized she was pregnant yet...but he'd tell her if she hadn't guessed yet he supposed.

"My condition?" Mari cocked her head at the man, clearly rather confused for a moment or so, then the colour just seemed to drain from her cheeks as realisation hit her. It seemed obvious, when she thought about it. But she was prone to illness anyway, considering the condition her body was in the way things were, and considering how much she liked to cook, never ate too much... only really left overs, so she was a bit thin, and because she worked every chance she got so she was exhausted physically a fair amount, so sickness came to her fairly easily, which was likely to be why pregnancy was the last thing on her mind. But she was clearly scared about this... she couldn't afford to be pregnant. To have a baby... the poor thing would be miserable. It wouldn't have anything nice, because they just couldn't afford to. They... her and Sage. Would Sage even want this? They'd barely known each other for that long. She'd always wanted a child, to have a family of her own... but this was too soon, wasn't it? And what would happen if the other boy didn't want this? She'd have to raise a child all alone, and that was terrifying. Edited at March 10, 2023 10:25 AM by Belle

The doctor grunted when the girl's face went pale. She'd obviously come to terms with the fact that she'd most likely have a child, though she didn't look overly happy. He could, vaguely, understand the girls worries ...but they could all be refuted. "Sage lives in the castle. When you baby is born, the lad or lass will be well cared for. You can stay here if you choose, and you'll both have all the resources you need," he reminded Mari gently. The baby had the best life it could, in his opinion....it would have parents who quite obviously would be wonderful, and it had all the castle resources without the responsibilities of a royal. And, well ..it would technically be his grandchild, which meant he'd spoil the little one death. He got up after a moment, grabbing some pills for the girl to help with the pain...she should be able to eat more and function a bit better with it in her system. He handed it to the girl and sat down next to her with a grunt. "I'll check in on you every few days," he hummed. "It'll be every day later, but that won't be for a while. Now, go and get some rest," he hummed. "Though, I would recommend telling sage sooner rather than later," he hummed eventually.

The girl nodded quietly to the man, though she just felt sick... not in the nauseated way she had before, but like dread. She wanted to have a child of her own, but she'd had a plan. To fall for someone, get married, be settled and have a house, and then start thinking about having a baby. But she also knew life didn't go to plan, and that she did love Sage. She just hoped he wanted to stick around to look after a child. She nodded to the old man and took the little pot of pills from him, though she just seemed quiet. There was no real way to tell she was pregnant, not until she'd actually started showing, but she did trust the doctor. If he though that was the situation, she could only believe him. She thanked him before standing up and forcing herself off to her room, when she just kind of flopped on her bed. She had to tell Sage about this... but she just wanted to have some time just to... think. She'd tell Sage whenever he came back.

The doctor went back to his desk with a slight sigh. He was a bit worried as to how this would go ...if something happened to the girl or her child, he wasn't sure how sage would react. He doubted the boy would take off once Mari told him the news....he didn't seem like the type to do that, and it was obvious he was head over heels for the girl. He wouldn't just up and leave. He was a bit giddy though....a grandchild. It seemed almost too good to believe. He let out a tiny chuckle and bent over his notebook again, writing out a quick note as to what had happened. Sage himself was at the barn, letting Amber run about and mouse happily while he feed and watered all the horses before visiting mystery, who'd grown so much in the past month or so, and then Chaos. He stayed until maybe mid afternoon...but by then he did want to check in on Mari. He stopped by the kitchen first though ..the cook was out, so he could make something up. It was simple ...just a light soup, but Mari did need to eat, even if it was just attempting to sip some broth. He ambled back down to the girls room and slipped in quietly, in case she was asleep, and upon seeing the girl awake but laying on the bed, he set the soup down on the table next to it and sat down next to her, reaching over to put a hand on her forehead worriedly. "Feel ok," he hummed. "did the doctor figure out what's wrong?"

Mari rested for a little while, attempting sleep but not really managing it. Her head was running, so many thoughts and worries... she was terrified of this all. And what if she did tell Sage... what if he was excited for this? And what if something went wrong? Her body had already been through so much, she just might not be able to carry a child to full term. What if she lost the child, and he hated her for that. She'd hate herself for that, too. She frowned slightly when the boy fussed over her, and rolled over to look at him with a slightly forced smile. "A tiny bit better. He gave me something for the pain... I still feel disgusting though," she told him quietly before sitting up at his next question. She had to tell him at some point... and, like the doctor said, sooner rather than later. "I... well yes I suppose," she whispered to him quietly before shaking her head. "He... he said that I might be pregnant," she murmured, even quieter than before... not quite sure how he'd take it.

Sage felt his shoulders relax a bit when the girl said she felt a bit better. That was good...at least the doctor had given her something. He cocked his head slightly when she sat up, continuing to talk, and sort of looped his arm around her. Though, when she mentioned that the doctor thought she was pregnant, he sort of released his hold on her to look at her better, the shock evident on his face. He had to admit, he wasn't mad about it...not at all...rather, he couldn't help but feel happy about it. Giddy, almost. A child of his own? A family? Man, it made him feel so good. "Really? That's great," he hummed happily. Then his thoughts caught up with him and his smile faded. "Wait...you're...I mean, it is, right?" He was suddenly terrified that the girl would be upset with him. What if she decided she didn't want the child? Didn't want him if this was the result? What if she got mad and ....now his brain was running too fast, too quickly. And he was honestly terrified....and the girl could probably tell. Not because of the child, but because he didn't know what she felt about it.
