The girl felt her whole body tense when the boy pulled away from her and closed her eyes ready for him to start shouting at her, but it never happened. In fact, he just seemed... happy. She didn't know why she'd expected him to hate her for this... he'd never shouted at her, or even raised his voice with her... she didn't think he would have shouted at her even if he didn't want this. But he really did just seem happy. She reached out to take his hand and ran her thumb over his with a small smile... this one a tiny bit more genuine. "Yes... I think it is," she whispered to the boy. She wanted this... a family of her own, with this man she loved more than anything... but her thoughts were still running. "But I need to work... and will the queen let me stay with a baby? I don't have the money to look after it alone," she told him quietly before then looking back to Sage after looking down at herself for a moment. "Do you really want to do this with me?" She asked the boy with a bit of a frown. A baby was a... big commitment. And she still hadn't been with Sage for very long.

Sage felt all of the tension leave his body in one huge rush and he couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. He pursed his lips slightly and wrapped his arms around the girl again, keeping his hand in hers. "It'll be alright," he hummed. "you can still work for quite a while...and if the queen won't let you work then I'll work down at the barn or something...and the doctor will help out if we really need it, and I'm sure Anya will too, even if it's just babysitting for a few hours," he thought out loud. "Either way, we'll make it. And the baby will have a good life," he promised. He'd do anything to make sure of it...he'd even go back to the tavern. Of course, that probably wouldn't ever happen, but he'd do it as a last resort. He looked over at the girl in surprise at her other comments and cocked his head slightly. "Why wouldn't I? It was a risk we knew of when he started sleeping together," he pointed out. "And I raised Att for a while, and I raised Lizzie too ... A child of my own would be...wonderful." really, Wonderful wasn't the right word for it...it was much better than that. Much much better. "And I do love you....I'm not going to walk away as soon as things get tough," he noted with a bit of amusement.

The girl leaned into him a little bit when he wrapped his arms around her. She just felt a weight on her chest lift when he reasured her that they could do this, and, despite how awful she still felt, her love for him just seemed to grow... every moment with Sage, the amount of love she had for him just got bigger. This baby... if everything went well, then she really just wanted to give it the best life they possibly could. She wanted to make sure it got an education, and that it wouldn't have to work the way she had to when she was young... she just wanted to make sure she could give it everything she'd never had. She couldn't help her slight panic at the boys last comment, though. If something went wrong, would he still love her? Would he walk away then? She was internally thrilled about this child, even if she seemed more worried as of then... in truth, she didn't even think she could get pregnant after everything. She took a bit of a breath after that thought... she didn't want to think about what might go wrong because she would just scare herself. "It's strange, though... I started to feel bad fairly quickly. Hopefully, as my body adjusts I'll feel better... maybe in the next month or two," he told him as she rested her head on his shoulder quietly.

Sage hummed thoughtfully and rested his head on the girls shoulder, squeezing her gently as if reassuring her. "well ... If the doctor didn't say anything was wrong or abnormal about it, then it's fine," he told the girl, hoping desperately that was true. Plenty of things could go wrong, he knew that, and it was scary....but he was excited for it all the same. He supposed that it would all be worth it once the baby was born. And it seemed like the girl felt the same way...he certainly hoped so. Eventually though, he patted the girls arm and handed her the bowl of soup. "You need to eat, especially if you're pregnant," he hummed. "I know you don't feel great, but maybe food will help. Even if it's just sipping some broth."

Mari nodded slightly, and closed her eyes briefly as the boy gave her a little squeeze. She just wanted everything to go well... but in truth she was terrified. Anything could go wrong at any point, and she wouldn't forgive herself for that... especially now that she'd be letting Sage down too. But he was excited about this... and she wanted to make sure everything went perfectly. He was right... the doctor hadn't said anything seemed wrong, and she did trust him. She glanced over at the boy after a moment or two with a small smile and took the soup after eyeing it a little bit. But it wasn't much... and she could at least try a bit. It was watery enough, so she could sip on the broth like the boy had said. She tried a little bit... but only really about half before she felt full. It was good though... none of the flavours were too strong, so she could neck it quite easily. She glanced to Sage after a moment, and her bit of a smile grew a tiny bit. "We're having a baby," she hummed with a bit of a chuckle, still not really quite believing it. Though, she did hope it was true, with everything she had... especially if it was with Sage.

Sage felt a bit relieved when the girl took the soup to sip on. It wasn't much, but it was definitely something, and it was good that she was willing to sip at it. Even if she didn't finish it, there was at least something in her stomach now...and it had to feel nice. He chuckled slightly in response to the girl's comment and nodded, leaning into her a little bit. "We're having a baby," he hummed quietly. It was shocking really...he'd had no idea she'd was pregnant, or that she'd ever get pregnant, but...he was definitely happy she was. "9 months seems so long to wait," he hummed in a bit of a complaint. It really did seem like forever to wait for something so precious.

The girl smiled when the boy leaned into her... she hated feeling like this, but if something good came out of it in the end, like a baby, she'd be able to get through it. She hoped she'd get though it. She chuckled softly to the boy, a little bit perkier now... not better by any means, but definitely a little bit more awake now that she'd had something to eat... something she could stomach, rather. "It is a long time," she hummed in agreement before going to lean back against the headboard. "But hopefully it'll go quickly... we'll have a lot to do. Like get a bed and clothes and all that. Oh, and we need to think of a name for the little fellow! And we've still got work... so it should fly by," she told him quietly. Time seemed to go quicker when she was with Sage anyway. "And god, I need to tell my mother," she hummed with a bit of a squeak. She couldn't wait to meet this child... so see what kind of person they'd turn into. She still felt awful... but being exited for all of this did make her feel a whole lot better.

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded, more than happy that this was all happening. He did let out a slight grunt when she said she'd have to tell her mother... Hopefully, the woman would take it well. He certainly didn't want Anthony mad or upset either. Hopefully, they'd be excited, just like the girl and he were. He wanted to have a good relationship with her family...and he was a bit worried as to how they'd react. But she did have to tell them, he knew that too. (I'm at a competition so it's a bit short lol)

(No worries! Good luck :D) Mari closed her eyes for a moment until he grunted a bit. She knew her family were very... cautious of people. Xander was shy, like their mother, but he warmed up to people fairly quickly. Anthony was cautious in a way that he just wanted to protect them all... the house, her mother, all of them. But she did think he'd come around to Sage with time. He might just think this was a bit soon... for her to be carrying Sage's child, that was. But she did think the two were kind of similar... and they'd get along if given time. Her mother already liked the boy, as did Xander, but she was just quiet in general. She then frowned as a thought crossed her mind. "What do you think the doctor thinks about this?" She normally wouldn't care, but, well, he was the man's father in a way. She wanted him to approve of... well, her.

(thanks xD) Sage hummed slightly in response to the girls comment. "He adores you," he chuckled. "He's probably going to be happy about it," he admitted with a shrug. "he likes to act like a cranky old man but he adores the little ones," he hummed, flopping down onto his back on the bed. Her bed was definitely more comfortable than his own in the ward....though he'd spent more time with here here than his own room. Amber had hopped into his chest and curled up by then, and sage stroked the cat fondly. "I think everyone will be happy with it. Unless your brother gets protective," he chuckled.
