(No worries!) The girl hummed lightly to the boy at his question. "It's alright. You are allowed to rest," she told him with a bit of a chuckle. She definitely seemed a little bit perkier... but she'd been holding a fair bit in over the last few weeks, so perhaps just being able to cry, without having to explain why... it seemed to have helped. Sage said it was... and she was coming to learn that he was pretty much always right. She admired him for that. She just admired him for... well, everything. He was so strong and brave, mentally and physically. He'd been through so much and yet was fine to sit with her while she cried about... well, nothing. Everything, but nothing at the same time. She loved him so much... she didn't think she'd ever be able to tell him just how much. "Yeah... a bit better. We need to get going soon... I don't want to wait until things get worse again," she told him quietly.

Sage hummed thankfully and then nodded in response to her other comments. "I was thinking the same thing," he admitted. "You ready to go then? Or do you want to pack a lunch or anything first," he asked. He was sure her mother and family would be happy to see her....but she also hadn't eaten or drank anything yet today. He hadn't either, but that thought didn't even cross his mind at all, he just wanted to make sure that Mari was alright and would be able to make it to her house without, like ... passing out or not being able to make it back or anything. He patter the girls back and squeezed her lightly before sitting up to stretch again and wake himself up a bit more so they could start getting going. He did want to be back to get the girl some dinner, and he definitely didn't want to stay out late enough for it to be dark in the way back. Though, they may be able to stay the night if she got too tired to leave right away or whatever.

Mari shook her head a little. "No... not really. I don't want to get stuck throwing up in the middle of the streets. I can get some bread or something when we get there," she told him quietly. She chuckled softly when he gave her a little squeeze before sitting up a little bit. She should probably get something to drink because she'd been throwing up since about six that morning... she just went to sip on the water on her side table before looking to Sage when he got up. "Have you had anything?" She knew he wasn't likely to be looking after himself while she was like this... so she just needed to make sure he was looking after himself as well as her. She sighed and looked to the boy before giving a smile. "Come on. We can get you something and get going," she told him gently before quietly swinging her legs out of bed and forcing herself up. She was a little bit dizzy at first, but it soon passed as she went waited for Sage by the door.

Sage hummed and nodded as if he'd expected that reaction from the girl. He figured that throwing up on the streets would definitely not be fun for her. He was going to suggest getting a drink, though she had reached for her water by then, so he quenched the comment. He blinked in surprise when she asked if he'd eaten and then grinned sheepishly when she assumed he hadn't. He took a quick drink of water and then followed the girl out the door. He grabbed an apple from the kitchen, not wanting to wait very long before leaving in case the girl got worse again, and waved her on. He munched in the apple along the way, eating with one hand and keeping the other arm wrapped protectively around Mari.

Mari walked along next to the boy quietly, a hand on the arm that was wrapped around her... she'd normally tell him to chill out and stop being so... protective over her, but as selfish as it was, she kind of liked it. Just having someone to look after her... was certainly nice. They walked for about twenty minutes before needing to lean on the boy a tiny bit, wearing out quickly but not really wanting to stop. They soon made it to her little cottage and looked at Sage with a soft smile. "Alright?" She asked, lightly... knowing this was a little bit scary... hell, her heart was beating a little bit and this was her own family. She quietly pushed through the door and called through to say she was here, to which little Xander poked his head out from behind a corner and grinned to the grin, sprinting up to her and practically diving at her. "Careful," the girl told him with a bit of a chuckle before looking around. "Where's Anthony? Is he here?" Xander nodded lightly before pointing out to the woodshed. "Yep! He's out the back. Mum is cooking," he chirped happily. Edited at March 12, 2023 01:49 PM by Belle

Sage was happy to walk along peacefully with the girl in the way to her little cottage, though he was admittedly getting more and more nervous as they got closer to her home....he didn't know how her family would react to this all, and if he was being honest, he was a bit weary of Anthony. The boy was larger than he was, and, well, healthier. He wasn't at all sure how he'd react, and he certainly didn't want to hurt her brother. He gave Mari a slight smile when she asked if he was alright and nodded, taking a deep breath. Here went nothing. Or everything, he supposed. He grinned brightly at Xander when he popped his head around the corner and nodded after he told them where Mari's older brother and mother were. He glanced over at Mari then, sort of shifting his weight nervously. She'd go find them when she was ready, and hed be there, even if he was absolutely terrified.

Mari looked at the boy when he seemed to shift about nervously... the only person they really needed to worry about was Anthony... but she did expect the boy to be civil. She gave the younger boy a bit of a smile before humming thoughtfully. "Do you want to go and grab him? We need to tell him something important," she told him gently. If her mother was cooking, then they could maybe sit while everyone was eating... everyone would be calm, so she was sure that they'd take it better then. Anthony showed up after a moment with arms full of logs before he spotted Mari and ran at her and wrapped his arms around her before picking her up and kind of shaking her, clearly happy to see his sister. The girl squeaked and had to wince a little bit but gave the boy a smile. "Nice to see you too," she hummed lightly. He then looked to Sage and kind of patted his shoulder awkwardly. "It's good to see you... both of you, I suppose. I didn't know you were coming," he told her lightly."Are you staying for dinner?" Edited at March 12, 2023 02:09 PM by Belle

Sage nodded in agreement with Mari as Xander ran off happily, and nodded a greeting at Anthony when he showed up. The greeting he gave his sister brought a kind of smile to his face, even if he was still nervous. "we kind of stopped by on a whim," he hummed. "she's been meaning to, but this was the first chance we got in a while." He shrugged slightly and shrugged. "Er ..why not," he hummed in response to the older boys question. "But we can't stay too long ...well have to be back soon, and i definitely don't want to try and get back in the dark," he pointed out. Anthony knew well the danger of traveling at night in the slums....he'd grown up here, after all, and he did want his sister to be safe. he was aware of the older boys awkwardnes though, and it didn't exactly make him feel any less nervous to tell him he'd gotten his baby sister pregnant.

Mari smiled slightly, nodding along with what Sage was saying. She didn't want to make her way back to the castle like... this. She wouldn't forgive herself if something happened to Sage... or herself, for that matter, not now that she was carrying his baby. Staying to eat for a little bit should be good... she wouldn't eat too much, considering they had a walk back to the castle, but she figured when everyone else was around a table and they were all relaxed would probably be a better time to tell them... well, she might tell her mother first. If things didn't go well with Anthony, she wanted to at least get to talk to her mother about it without an argument breaking out, though she did hope it'd be alright... Anthony wasn't overly vocal... well, that was a lie, she just didn't think he'd be too upset... as long as she was happy, that was all that mattered to him. "We were wanting to come a few weeks back, but things... just got in the way," she hummed lightly. The boy told them to come in and make themselves comfortable while he went to get more logs for the fire. Mari had to admit, it was nice being home again... the gentle scent of a broth cooking in the kitchen, and the warmth of the fire was... relaxing. Xander had gone off to run about with some friends, but that was alright... he was shy, and she did like to hear their little giggles as they ran around outside. It was quiet for a moment before she looked to Sage with furrowed brows, then took his hand. "Can we go tell my mother now? If things go south with my brother and we have to leave, I just want to have spoken to her about this... she might have something that'll help," she asked quietly.

Sage was glad when Mari agreed to stay and eat something...no doubt it would make her feel at least a bit more perky once she ate something, especially since she hadn't been eating very much. He thanked Anthony for bringing them in and then looked over at Mari, cocking his head as he listened to her before grunting and nodding. "that may be a good idea," he hummed, standing up and reaching for the girl with his hand she didn't already have in her grasp to help her up. He let her lead the way into the kitchen ...her mother was in there, and he hadn't spiked a word to the woman. Well, he had, but she'd never really responded or spoken to him at all. Besides, this was kind of Mari's news, as well as her house so....she could tell her mother. He had a feeling he was just there for moral support. Well, and the fact that he was the father. He tried to keep a relaxed grip on the girls hand as they entered the kitchen, but he was admittedly quite nervous.
