The girl winced a little bit when Sage started getting defensive... it wouldn't help their case at all. She looked at him with furrowed brows before shaking her head. He just needed to calm down... though, that was easier said than down. She knew he was scared to do this the way it was. She gave his knee a bit of a squeeze and gave him a look that told him to watch his words. She knew Anthony just wanted to make sure she was being looked after... but Sage hadn't grown up with him. He was used to having to defend himself. She just didn't want him to get snappy with her brother. "He's already looking after me, is what he means," she reiterated to her brother with a small sigh. "He got up to sit with me this morning, just to sit on the bathroom floor while I threw my guts up. He's already running around for me... and I can't thank him enough," she told him quietly as she reached to take a soft hand of Sages. Her brother looked at her with doubt before sighing. "As long as this is your choice... if this is what you want, then fine. Just know you can come to us if you need it," he told his sister after a moment before kind of wearily looking at Sage. He didn't really know the boy, which was... scary. But he couldn't control everything his sister did... and if she chose to love him, and have this child with him, then there wasn't much he could so about it.

Sage visibly tried to calm himself down when Mari squeezed his knee. He knew he was probably going overboard, but he just couldn't help it. When he got nervous, he just wasn't himself ....well he was himself, but it was a much darker, much worse version of himself, he supposed. He did feel his shoulders relax slightly when she took a hold of his hand, and felt a bit of a glow in his chest when she tried to describe to her older brother how he was already caring for her. Anthony, however, didn't look pleased or convinced....and sage felt himself tense up again when the boys gaze fell on him again. He was relieved when he accepted the fact that Mari was with child, though he still quite obviously didn't accept him. He dropped his gaze, sort of playing with the leftover food in his bowl. He'd been hungry earlier, having not eaten much recently, but he was definitely no longer hungry. He felt bad about it all really, wasting their food and causing such a disturbance.

Mari went back and forth with her brother for just a little bit longer, eventually telling him to just get over it... she was an adult, as was Sage, and they could both do this. Anthony stared at Sage for a moment before sighing and standing up with his plate. He just wanted to protect his family... what was his, she supposed. He'd grow to like Sage, just the same as she did. Anthony eventually accepted it, though... and he didn't seem upset per sey, just concerned. She sighed once he'd taken their plates and turned to press a soft kiss to Sage's cheeks. She loved him, she did... and she'd stick with him no matter what her brother would have thought of it. "Alright?" She asked the boy softly as she gently rubbed his shoulder. She was feeling ill again, though... and she just wanted to get back to the castle. "I want to go back to bed," she whispered after a moment. It was getting darker out, so they needed to get moving. She went to thank her mother with Sage and said their goodbyes to Xander... Mari went to talk to Anthony for a little bit, and just reassured him this was all alright, but soon enough both she and Sage were wandering back to the castle, her arms hooked through his, kind of like she was holding herself up, using him as a bit of a crutch.

Sage glanced over at Mari and nodded, though it was a rather tense nod. Anthony had accepted it, though he still didn't seem particularly pleased with the idea. Sage didn't blame him ...if Mari were Lizzie and he was in Anthony's place, he would have been probably worse than the other boy. But, even so, he wanted him to like him. He nodded in response to Mari's comment, humming "I think that would be a good idea," tiredly, still more exhausted than he wanted the girl to know. He was glad to talk to her mother and Xander again, and even cuddle ginger for a few minutes while Mari talked to Anthony again before leaving. Their walk home was hard, tiring, for both of them, and he barely had the energy to make sure Mari was comfortable in bed before crawling in next to her and passing out pretty much as soon as his body his the bed. He hadn't even bothered with covers or anything....he was just so, so tired. Amber hopped over and curled up next to him right away, too, looking over at Mari with bright eyes before curling up and closing them.

Mari followed Sage a long, kind of leaning in the more they went on. She was exhausted, and really she didn't trust her legs not to just fall beneath her. She was kind of glad how Anthony felt with the news of her pregnancy.He clearly wasn't happy about it.... but he would have wanted to be apart of this babies life, and that wouldn't happen if he got into a spat with Sage. She sighed once they got back to her room, where they both kind of collapsed. She didn't need Sage to make sure she was comfortable... she just wanted to curl up with him. She smiled when the cat curled up between them, and gently went to scratch her chin before letting herself drift off to sleep. The next morning was the same as usual... she woke up stupidly early and rushed off to the bathroom... she was in there fore about fifteen minutes before cleaning herself up a little bit. She had to work, so she couldn't exactly just sit there and feel sorry for herself. It was very early, though, and Sage was still asleep, so she tiredly waddled towards the kitchen and made up some pancakes for the two of them... Sage deserved a treat. She was so aware of how much he was wearing himself out for ber, and she couldn't help but feel bed about it. She waddled back to her room and came in quietly before leaning over him and pressed a few soft kisses to his lips. "Morning," she hummed softly as she gently woke him up. Once he was awake enough, she placed the tray on her side and went to sip on the peppermint tea like her mother had said... it didn't taste particularly good, but it certainly helped to settle her stomach a fair bit more.

Sage slept quite deeply all night long, having needed the rest more than he wanted to admit to anyone. It was a good rest, and while he definitely could have used more, it was good enough for the time being. He hadn't moved when Mari woke up, which probably proved how utterly exhausted he was, but he stirred slightly when he felt the girl kiss him. It was nice, waking up to Mari's affection, so he allowed his eyes to flutter open slowly, humming a quiet, and half asleep, good morning back to the girl. His nose twitched as his senses starting to kick in as he woke up a bit, smelling the pancakes the girl had made. He felt his stomach clench... apparently he was hungrier than he realized. He sort of just dialed in on the food, which was gone in a rather short amount of time, even though he tried to eat in a way that didn't show how hungry he was. Mari didn't have to worry any more than she already was. "How long have you been up," he asked with a yawn once he was finished, laying back down to try and curl up against the girl a bit, still just really tired. Amber padded over to him and he pulled the kitten close to him, a soft smile forming on his face.

Mari shrugged a little bit when the boy woke up. "A while. Just for the usual things," she hummed as she sipped on the hot tea. She was tired too... but that wouldn't change for the next few months. Sage needed a treat, he'd been working damn hard for her... so the least she could do was bring him some breakfast in bed. "You deserve a treat... I feel like I've been neglecting you for a while," she told him with a soft chuckle. He deserved a bit of love, and at the moment this was the only way she could manage it. He tried to hide himself ripping up his food, but shouldn't help her chest tighten at the sight. "Please don't lose meals over me," she told him softly when he curled back around her.

Sage hummed lightly in response to the girl's first comment, nodding with a kind of yawn. "If you need me though, wake me up," he told the girl, though it was admittedly a bit of a struggle not to fall back asleep once he was back down, especially now that he wasn't so hungry. He chuckled slightly at the girl's comment about giving him a treat. "You're the only treat I need," he hummed, closing his eyes again with with a sigh, though he opened them again at the girl's other comment and nodded slowly after a moment. "Was I that obvious," he grumbled in a slightly amused manner. "I'll try to remember to eat something, he promised.

Mari nodded gently. She wouldn't wake him up unless she thought something was wrong... but for now, she could deal with it and let her... boyfriend?... sleep. He deserved as much. "Sage you need to not worry. If I need you I'll call," she told him with a bit of a chuckle. She couldn't help a bit of a giggle at his next comment. "That's so cheesy," she told him lightly, clearly a little bit amused. He was tired, though... she supposed that she could let him off. She nodded at his next comment and put her cup down on the side... the tea definitely helped. She turned to curl back into him with a bit of a smile. "You looked like a ravenous animal," she mused lightly before shaking her head. "Just don't lose yourself because of me. I need my baby to have a daddy and that's not gonna happen if you starve to death."

Sage gave Mari a sheepish smile and chuckled slightly. "I know, I know," he hummed lightly, stifling another yawn. He giggled lightly when the girl teased him...it may have been cheesy, but it was true. He didn't mind working harder to care for Mari, and their child too he supposed. He hummed in amusement when she mentioned him eating and nodded with a slight sigh. "I'll be alright," he hummed. "But I will try to find time to eat more. Did the tea help?" He did want to know if it helped, and he was curious, so he'd probably fall back asleep once she'd answered. Really, he has half asleep already, especially now that Mari had curled back up with him.
