Raven followed along quietly, each hoofbeat was matched to Vadars. For a while she tried to think of something to day but she was worried she would bother him. So she just stayed quiet and followed. She watched his audits as they swiveled back towards her on occasion and wondered if he was listening to see if she was there still. Or if he hoped she had left by now. She had to admit, she was getting desperate for water and some type of food. Anything would be good at this point. She could feel her body getting slower and she knew it wasn't a good sign. The mare kept up with him despite her body screaming at her for nourishment.

Raven watched as he spun around and faced her in excitement. She had seen the lake too. She looked at him with the same look in her eyes then took off after him. She came up to his side and her ears fell a bit seeing that it was covered in a sheet of ice. Looking down she noticed it wasn't too thick in some places and she turned and walked the shoreline before coming to a spot that seemed to be the thinnest. "Here. We can break it easier. Its thin." She said seeing the water moving under about a two inches of ice. She reared up instantly and fell back down onto the ice causing it to break and water too pool on top. She repeated it a few times before she had made a decent sized hole in the ice, big enough for them both to have room and stepped back out. She lowered her head and drank. Her raven coloured forelocks fell gently over her face. The water was ice cold as it trickled down her throat and into her body. She closed her eyes and sighed softly taking in slow drags of liquid. She knew she couldn't drink too fast because it could do more damage to her body than good because she was so dehydrated and starving. It could make her sick. She pawed at the ice a bit more to keep it open while they drank.

The stallion rose a brow, wathcing the mare head down the river some, curious to watch she was doing before she called out to him. 'hmm' he thought seeing her rear up and strike the ice, hearing a cracking sound made his audits perk in alert, as he slowly made his way over to her. Making himself stand tall and proud, he wasn't used to having help, let alone a mare do anything, this was... different. He cautiously neared the mare, his red hues locked to the crystal clear water that bubbled up from the ice, he watched her stick her muzzle into the waters and lap it up, he was nervous to drink next to her, it was such a small watering hole, but it would have to do. Looking to her briefly "thanks" he nickered softly before lowering his frame into the water. The chill touch sent a shiver of excitment down his spine, he slowly gulped the waters as it hit his stomach like a hard kick to the gut, but it was so nice to finally quintch his thrist. Snorting softly through each sip, side by side they drank, his plumage softly twirled around his hind leg, he shifted his weight, resting on three as he cocked a hoof to relief pressure from his legs. He found himself lost in the waters as he closed his hues.

The mare looked over at him and nickered in response before closing her eyes again also. Her audits staying on a swivel for any danger as she drank contentedly. She occasionally opened her eyes to look at him. This was the closest they had ever stood, part of her saddened because it reminded her of the days with her mom. She hadn't felt the touch of another in years, she long to touch Vader. Even for a moment, just to feel the warmth of another horse against her. It struck her then, they hadn't even told eachother their names yet. She lifted her head and looked at him with shy eyes. She shifted slightly nervous. "I...um......" She trailed off suddenly. Why was it so hard to talk to him? Maybe it was their rocky start. Or maybe she just forgot how to communicate having been alone for so long. "My name is Raven..." She said quickly forcing out the words as fast as she could. She looked down at the ground a bit embarrassed and pawed it slightly with her hoof. "What's your name?" She asked so quietly if he wasn't beside her this close he might not have heard it. She looked over at him her blue eyes cautiously watching to see if he would reply.

The stallion's frame lifted from the water, audits perking forward at the sound of her name, red hues soon floated up to look over her as small drops of water trickled off his muzzle. 'Raven' the name rang in his ears, for it was a pretty name and she was a very pretty mare he had to admit, perphaps too young from him, he thought. Though, he as curious why another had not snatched her up yet, as young and pretty as she was. Even if she used to be a pet..

Teeth softly snagged at his thick pelt as his frame bobbed softly up and down as he tended to an itch on his shoulder, licking his lips with a small snort as he turned back to her direction. Noticing how closer they were, he took a small shy step back as he reshifted his stance "umm.. I'm" as a deep breathe escaped him "Vader" he nickered softly, his red hues locking to her blue orbs for a moment before he pulled his frame away. "Silly name I know" he snorted with a pinned ear as he locked his hues to the ground. He wondered why she wanted to get to know him, he was nothing special, in fact he was not what she was probably thinking he was.

Raven watched him with curious blue orbs. She swished her tail slightly, watching as he scratched an itch then went back to drinking a few sips of water. Her audits perked up to his voice. 'Vader. He told me his name! Its such a nice name too..' She thought and looked up at him when he said it was silly. "I don't find it silly at all. I like it." She nickered gently. Her blue orbs seemed to light up with happiness but disappeared when she saw him back away a little having noticed them being so close. She sighed. "Well. Vader, thank you for letting me come with you. I appreciate your help." She said. "Im gunna go try to look for something to eat." She said and turned to walk away. She wandered a little ways and started digging around in the snow for grass.

The stallion watched as she walked away, giving a dip of his frame as she thanked him. He wasn't quiet sure what she was thinking him for though, all he did was lead them to a frozen river. Sighing, as he stuck his frame to the oncoming wind, "Salt" he whispered to himself as he could smell the faint scents of the satly breeze of the beaches. They couldn't be but, 2 miles away from the warming weather. Audits softly perked at the thought of being warm for he knew in a few short months spring would soon be upon them. He was greatful they not run into any others, but the winter made it hard for any equine to want to really travel.

He stood tall, watching as the mare as she dug around in the snow, he rolled his hues some playfully at how daft she seemed to be. He didn't really care to be in the presence of someone else, but he had to admit he was being to like it, though the thoughts of his past tried to resurface, he burried them deep down once more. Walking a few steps in the mares direction, he nickered at her "Do the smell the salt?" as he rose a brow to her "The beach is close, why don't we keep heading north, it should be close" he snorted softly as his forlock fell over one of his hues. He hoped she wanted to come, but wasn't sure if she would. He knows he isn't the best company to keep, but for some reason he was starting to care for her.

Raven's audits perked up and she looked up. She hadn't noticed before because it had been super faint. But once he brought it up, she lifted her muzzle into the air and took a deep breath. She smelled it then, "I didn't realize, I've never seen the ocean before." She nickered softly getting excited. "I bet it's really beautiful there." She said looking towards where the scent was coming from. Her orbs glistened with her excitement. "Okay!" She said. She began to follow him happily.

The stallion's audits perked at the mares excitement, which he thought rather cute. He didn't want to say it, but he had never been to the beach either and wasn't sure if he would even like it... he had a chance once to go... Snorting softly, he began to lead them towards the direction of the beach, this time he slowed his pace allowing the mare to walk side by side to him. Red hues glanced her way "So... humans...why exactly did they leave you hear again?" he spoke out with a deep breathe. He knew he wasn't quiet playing attention to her the first time she spoke of it, but remember how upset she had been about it. He held her gaze as he continued to press foward, hoping he didn't intimate her with his question, nostrils flared softly as the salty air grew more and more strong.

The beautiful mare was surprised that he was letting her walk beside him, that he had slowed down so they could walk together. When he spoke her blue orbs glanced at him. Her audits pricked as she took in his question. She closed them briefly and sighed. She wasn't sure why it was hard to talk about it at first. "Well" She sighed softly. "They abused all of their horses there, but the mares got it the worst. When I was born, she had become too old to breed anymore. They only cared about money not the horses, if a horse didn't make them money then they got rid of them. Either sent them to butchers or dumped them here like garbage. Unfortunately they were planning on taking me away from my mom, and dumping her. But when they found out I couldn't have foals. They dumped me with her out here. I was only a week old when they left us here. She did the best she could to raise me even though she had no experience in the wild. She died after I turned two. I was left to fend for myself then. Been alone since." She nickered. She looked at him with sad eyes. She sighed and shook her head and turned away looking on ahead of them.

The stallion was quiet as he listened to her tell her story, watching her as her face wound change with the tone of which part of the story she would speak about, audits softly flicking when her voice would drop with saddness. He couldn't imagine what she went through at such a young age, it was sad to listen to it and it must of been hard for her. Luckily, Vader didn't lose his parents until he was almost 5yrs of age in his herd. He knew what it felt like when he lost his mother. Red hues softly pulled away from the mare as he sighed "I'm sorry you had to go through that". He came to a stop as he now could see the beach in the distance, looking down the melted down snowy grass was soon colliding with the warm hot sand that covered the land before them.

Big gusts of wind danced through their manes and tails,nostrils flared as he took in the salty scent, it was pleasnut as he closed his hues for a moment, he could hear the roaring of the calm crashing winds, the rustling of the palm trees swaying in the wind, the squealing of seagulls fighting over the bit of fish they could find, finally.... Spring was getting closer. Though, his expression softly dropped remembering the mare had mentioned she couldn't have foals. For some reason, that hit his heart, he glanced to her once more "Just so you know, I'd keep the not able to have foals to yourself until you meet the right stallion... most band studs and herd stallions won't take to kind to that news" he soon nickered somewhat in a warning for a young mare. He knew how nasty some stallions could be, knowing she couldn't have foals and as young as she is... it could mean death if a stud ever found out after mating to her or even cause her to be bonded to a horrible stallion with no escape. He stared at her somewhat intensly before walking onto the golden sands with a shake of his frame, headed closer to the ocean.
