He smiled and nodded. "Yeah. But for now, we can be happy here. Being a demon won't change your life much. You just need to learn how to block out the noises and capture energy." He shrugged. "Your half demon so the energy of animals will work if you don't want to kill a person," he pointed out. "And there's plenty of woods nearby." Daisy crawled up onto the bed with them and paced behind them, meowing until Sage reached over and started to pet her. Sage chuckled at her antics, a soft smile on his face.

"Of course." she cooed happily "Are you sure about that?" she asked "Cause it feels like a pretty big change..." she sighed "Like a baby..." she sighed "But different... especially for me I mean I was human before hun..." she sighed "This is a lot to take in..." she told him listening closely to him and nodding "Okay." she said gently giving a small chuckle at Daisy "Hey mama..." she cooed with a laugh "I can't wait to meet your babies..." she cooed gently rubbing her somewhat plump belly watching her curiously to see if she would investigate Charlie at all as she put her other hand on Charlie's belly again as the little bundle squirmed happily on their bed.

Sage smiled and nodded. "I know it is. But you'll do fine...you've already done better than Roxie expected." He looked down at Daisy, who walked over to Charlie and curled up around her after sniffing her head.

Maxine gave a nod "Thank you... but if I can't figure this out I don't know what I'll do... those sounds are so overwhelming... I'm getting an idea of what animals go through..." she murmured with a chuckle watching Daisy, she was quite happy to see her so cuddly with Charlie, it definitely made her feel better about having Daisy and her kittens around. The next few days went by rather quickly, Maxine had somewhat of a schedule worked out for feedings and things and took naps here and there... whenever Charlie wasn't crying or Sage could take over for her. In the evenings she'd sit outside trying to get used to the extra noise whilst she fed Charlie, it was a bit quieter in the evening so it was much easier to hone in on certain sounds and block the rest. Today Ethan and Lizzie were coming over to see her and Charlie but Max was hungry... she had to eat some souls relitively soon and so did Charlie... sure they got by on normal food but they both were getting hungry for more then just human meals "I think we should go hunting today before Ethan and Liz get here..." she admitted.

Sage thought for a moment before nodding. "That's probably a good idea. I need to tell you how to do it so you can feed Charlie energy too."

Maxine nodded "Okay." She said giving a small smile. She was a bit nervous but she was hungry and she knew Charlie was too... So she put Charlie in a sling she could easily carry as well as some warmer clothes before following Sage out to the forest, she wasn't quite ready to go after people yet but she was willing to try it with animals. As soon as they got to the forest she heard many sounds... Heartbeats and just forest sounds in general it wasn't as overwhelming... But she still shirked a bit at the sound "Alright..." She breathed "What do we do?" She asked curiously.

Sage looked over at her and thought for a second. "Hold your hand out in front of you, and then focus on a single animals energy. Then try to pull it towards you." He nodded at a deer standing down by the lake. "try on the deer. It's old and dying so you won't be killing something I'm it's prime."

|
Maxine nodded "Okay..." She said doing as he instructed. The old deer perked up toward them but it didn't move "Is it suppose to move...?" She asked gently before her eyes widened watching the deer drop to the ground an odd glow in the shape of a deer coming toward them "Is that it's soul?!" She asked in both shock and amazement.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "The soul will just go wherever it wants since death doesn't control animals. You did get it's energy though." He patted her shoulder with a small grin. He spoke in an old language to the deers soul and the soul went back into the forest, fading into the shadows

"I did?" She asked "Okay..." She nodded "How do I give it to Charlie?" She asked curiously. Sure she was hungry too Max was definitely going to be someone who wanted her kiddo to eat first... Despite how hungry she herself was.
