Elara gave him room, letting him make the decision of telling her or not. "Well if you do, i'll listen." She promised, smile replaced with a neautral expression.

Sage glanced over at her and offered her a weary smile, nodding slightly. He knew she'd listen ...he just wasn't sure what to say. "There's just ....so much," he sighed after a moment. "Where would I even start?" Part of him did want to tell her, to let himself loose or cry about it all, or... something. But he shouldn't do that. She probably wouldn't appreciate it very much.

"You can start wherever, take your time." She told him softly, eyes twitching to a chair a meter away from the woman.

Sage sort of sighed and flopped over to lean against the headboard of the bed, but kept his knees curled up, almost like a scared kid might, figeting with the cup of water he held. "I met her when I was 16," he noted softly with a shrug. "She was perfect...offered me an apple as she walked past, continued to be nice, help me out, that sort of thing," he added, a small smile forming on his lips, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. "We knew each other pretty well...she was my escape from my father and a life on the streets fighting for scraps." he paused biting his lip. "We were married when we were 17...she paid my dad in order to get me out of his control permanently. I thought things were getting better, we could form a good life together." He pinched his lips and shook his head, body tensing. "I was wrong." Then, "I didn't want kids, not at 18..she wound up tricking me into it. I'm still not sure how, I was eating dinner and the next thing I remember was waking up the next morning and freaking out." He wrinkled his nose. "Things just got worse from there....but I still can't bring myself to not love her." He scoffed softly, shaking his head again. "Its stupid. I should have gotten over it all by now. But no matter how much I try, no matter what she does to me, I still love her," he added softly, closing his eyes painfully. It hurt to admit...though not as much as knowing the one person you've ever loved treated you like that, and would never stop.

Elara listened, having pulled the chair up to the side of the bed, listening with a slightly taken aback expression. She was quiet for a moment, letting the silence settle after he'd talked about how he couldn't stop loving Amy. "I know how you feel, not being able to stop loving somebody after they messed your life up." The woman admitted quietly, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. Her eyes found his, searching his gaze for a moment before speaking once more. "Just know i'm here for you, and if you ever need to talk, i'll be here." Elara promised, hoping to become the person she never knew.

Sage pulled his gaze from the cup to Elara's, searching her face for a moment, really just making sure what she was saying had been real. After a moment his face softened slightly and he nodded, a small smile curling onto his lips. "Thanks," he murmured. "You too," he added. He'd said a lot about his own sob story...he'd lsiten to her if she needed it too.

Elara smiled softly, standing. "Just know i'm here if you need me, Sage." She informed him, dragging the chair back to its original spot before tossing a glance into Sage's eyes and heading back out.

Sage just nodded, admittedly a bit overwhelmed. No one had actually ever cared. But he was glad she'd listened ...it felt good to get it off his chest, at least a little bit. He did enjoy Elaras company, a lot. He settled down after a while, sort of drifting off.

Elara came in with the hunt of the night, shivering once but quickly warming up as she cleaned up the cabin.

Sage was already out cold by the time Elara had gotten back, only stirring slightly when she first came in. He'd settled down again fairly quickly though, Liz still curled up with him.
