"Yeah, guess you're right." She mused, pulling Varys away as he tried to bite the flame. "Good to know you can work again, If you want to you can help me try to make a fireplace inside so when winter arrives we won't freeze to death." Elara said with a small chuckled, rubbing the wolf's head.

Sage chuckled softly and nodded, humming in thought. "That would be a good idea....if you can hike around and gather some clay and dirt we can mix it up and make a stove and chimney sort of thing," he noted with a small shrug. "I don't know how much dirt I can haul around but I can help make it and all the rest," he added. He'd do what he could to help out.

"Found a clay deposit a mile or so down the lane, can get some of that and lug it back." She noted to herself, focusing her attention to Sage. "However much you can comfortably carry is enough for me." Elara stated, knowing that was the truth.

Sage nodded with a sort of sigh. "I can try to gather some drift from the patch behind the cabin," he mused. He could likely get a few buckets filled....it wouldn't be nearly enough, but he would do what he could to help. He felt rather useless like this.

Elara softly smiled, flicking her gaze from the flames reflecting in her eyes the color of the sky over to Sage. "It'd be helpful, just don't wear yourself to the bone. I'd rather not see you worse then this," She noted, refencing his thin state. Sage had been worse, but he was looking........alive? Is that the word? Heck, Elara didn't know, he looked like he gained maybe a few pounds, although not much....at all, it seemed.

Sage hummed softly and nodded. "I'll be careful," he promised. "But I can't just sit around and do nothing all day," he added with a sort of chuckle. "Never have been able to sit still or relax for very long." Maybe it was just because growing up, he knew he couldn't afford to relax. Not in the streets. Not with his father or any. Even now really....he was nervous about her. She was clearly planning something since she hadn't barged in already.

(all good lol) Sage nodded and offered her a quick smile. He really was grateful for her...she'd helped him in numerous ways. She'd helped Liz too. He felt safe around her. Comfortable. It was something he'd never known before. He certainly didn't dislike it. He wasn't sure how to tell her that though, or if she'd think he was overstepping, so he stayed quiet. "Alright," he agreed lightly, glad to at least be out doing something again. Edited at March 31, 2025 09:24 PM by NightClan

Elara's gaze glazed over him while he spoke, his eyes the main thing that caught her attention. They held a ocean of emotion at points, other times, a desert. She had a certain flick in her gaze she never had for another person, and she was fine if it was only for him. -Stop liking him, you despise him,- Elara would tell herself every morning when she awoke, but she very much went the opposite of that once she saw him awake and up and around. It made her happy to see Sage walking and moving around, for it marked progress he very much needed.

Sage lingered by the fire for a while longer before knowing he would need to get back inside the cabin, since he was getting really tired. He moved to get to his feet slowly, and unsteadily....but he got there, only making it back to the cabin through sheer will (and a little help from Elara once or twice, he supposed). Either way, he made it back to the bed and passed out pretty much as soon as he lay down. He was exausted, but in a good way. He could see some progress he was making.
