Sage was content to just sit and nurse Silas quietly...it was a nice spring day out, almost getting to summer now weather-wise, which was nice. He'd always liked the warmth, since winter in the slums was never good. He also got cold really easily, and besides, more sun meant he just felt better overall. Not so tired and unmotivated. Besides, the time that Lizzie had died in was always hard...he didn't think it would ever get any easier, really. He'd just had to deal with it, and so he had. He felt his face light up, though, when Mari walked through the door, all the negative thoughts scattering immediately. He murmured a hello to the girl before chuckling at Silas' coo at her. He'd spend a bit of time here with them, and then head down to the barn. He had plenty of time. His thoughts of the weather and the baby sort of combined, and he realized that the birthday Anya had set for him was in the next day or two....and it was nice how close Silas' was to his.

Mari smiled at his little hum of a hello, and picked up Silas from his lap once he'd finished off his bottle... it was crazy how much he was eating already. She spun him around, causing happy coos to erupt from the boy, then gently bounced him in her arms as she looked down at Sage. "Did you have a good day?" She asked happily as she went to place the now sleepy child in his cot. She wandered back over to Sage with a grin, and kind of half sat in the chair and half on his lap. "I think the queen got tired of my babbling on about little Silas," she mused lightly before shaking her head.

Sage watched Mari interact with Silas happily, a light grin spread across his face. Silas really was a happy little baby...can he certainly hoped he'd stay that way. It would make life a whole lot easier for all of them. He hummed and nodded with a chuckle. "I haven't done much yet," he pointed out. "I stopped by Anya's room for a bit to show off Silas and talk for a while, which was nice," he mused. He didn't see Anya all too often, but he saw her enough to be content. He felt his grin widen when the girl plopped down on his lap, and wrapped his arms around her waist, pecking her on the neck lightly before resting his chin on her shoulder. "Well, she seemed happy enough for you before," he mused. "I'm sure she was the same way when Anya was born. She gets it. Probably." He had to work....but he could do that later. Right now, he just wanted to spend some time with Mari for a bit. Silas was asleep so....they had some time to themselves.

Mari rolled her eyes a little bit before chuckling softly... she forgot she was on half shifts sometimes... there was still a good few hours left for most people. She grinned when he said he'd stopped by his friends with the baby, more than excited to find out the baby had started his ventures around the castle. "Yeah? Did she like him?" she asked with a grin, excited for the first impressions of the child - it was a bit odd, but she wanted to know everything... she supposed she just wanted to be there for now. She gave a happy-sounding hum when he wrapped his arms around her, and a small chuckle at his kiss. "She put up with me," she told him lightly before sighing and leaning into him a little bit more. "I cant wait to show him off to everyone, though," she chirped happily.

Sage chuckled lightly and then nodded happily. "She loved him," he chirped. "She thought he was sweet and adorable," he continued proudly, practically buzzing with excitement. He smiled slightly when she leaned back into him and he tightened his hold on the girl, more than happy to just sit there with her. He had to admit, he liked that she'd just plopped right down in his lap too. He wasn't really sure why, but he felt kind of giddy about it, and just being with the girl. "Who wouldn't love him," he hummed lightly. "He's absolutely perfect."

Mari grinned at him as he told her about Silas' time out in the castle... or even just greeting someone. She was so excited for this child... he meant the world to her. She wanted everything to go right for him... for him to stay as happy as he was, and for him to have a good life. That was all she wanted for him. A life better than what either of his parents had had. "He is perfect, isn't he?" She asked as she glanced over to the crib and then back to Sage, pecking his nose happily. "I don't know what I was expecting, but he's better than I could have ever imagined," she hummed lightly to the boy. She smiled when he tightened his hold around her, happy to just spend a bit of time with him.

Sage hummed happily in response to the girls little peck of affection and nodded. "He absolutely is," he hummed. "Just like his mother," he added in with a rather cheeky grin. Really, he didn't care what they did, he just wanted to spend some time together. Though, if he could cop out some more affection from the girl, maybe some nice kisses, he definitely would. Besides, why not? They hadn't really been able to do anything for almost a year, and he had, admittedly, missed it all. But, even so, they didn't have to do anything intimate...he knew she didn't want to go through all that again, and while the chances of that happening were incredibly slim, if she didn't want to take that chance then he wasn't going to argue. He just wanted her to be happy.

The girl raised her brow a little bit at his comment and turned her head a little to look at him. "Well, I think his father is pretty damn perfect," she hummed lightly with a small chuckle. She leaned into him a bit more and shifted to get comfortable... she'd missed just being able to sit with him like this, where they were comfortable... and, for once in almost a year, neither of them were crying, or upset or in pain or... well, anything. They were just so elated with both each other and their new baby... it couldn't really get much better from here on out. She moved to press a light peck to his jaw after a moment or so, then looked more than excited. "Oh, we need to take him down to my family! We need to tell them about the engagement, too," she squeaked happily.

Sage chuckled and shook his head at the girl's comment, a hum rising in his throat, but by then the girl had moved on, so he stopped the denial that he was about to throw out there. But it was nice to know that Mari thought he was perfect enough for her. He felt a smile drift on his face in response to her kiss and then nodded. "On your next day off...what, tomorrow...we can go down there once I finish at the barn," he suggested lightly. He did want to go show the little one off to the family, and admittedly, he wanted to see Ginger too...he did like that old cat. Amber had cuddled up with him and Silas earlier, so she was watching out the window as of then. She'd grown too...but she seemed to like the baby as much as Silas liked her, so he wasn't going to complain. "You think your mom would help will wedding stuff," he asked after a moment. "I'm afraid I'd be rather awful at anything but decorations," he chuckled. Edited at April 6, 2023 12:11 PM by NightClan

Mari grinned at him when he said they could go down and see them... it had been months since she'd seen them. And, of course, she wanted to show off their new baby. Their engagement, too. She was just so thrilled about it all. She hummed and pressed another small kiss to his lips. "I can't wait," she chirped happily. "I'll make some cakes or something to bring over there... they always like it when we bring some snacks," she chirped happily. She then nodded once more. "I'm sure everybody would help," she hummed lightly before going to rest her head on her shoulder. "Are you wanting a winter or a summer wedding?" She asked quietly as she curled up into him a little bit, her nose tucked into his collar softly.
