Sage chuckled at Mari's happy chirp about how long theyd had the baby and nodded before watching Edith bunch Silas around. He did find it all rather sweet really...and she was obviously delighted to meet the little one. "Was Mari this happy as a baby," he asked Edith. "Or was she an absolute brat," he asked cheekily, really only teasing Mari a bit. "I do require all her embarrassing baby stories now," he hummed in a rather amused manner, giving Mari a mischievous but fond grin. He grinned and nodded when she said she brought cakes. "Good, we can share baby stories over food," he giggled, really just teasing the girl.

Mari stood up after a few moments to go and grab the basket with a bit of a hum. When she heard Sages comments about her as a baby, she couldn't help her blush as she flopped down next to him again, looking at her mother with furrowed brows. "Mari was a brat," she mused lightly. "Well, I suppose that's kind of a lie. She was happy enough until she wanted something. Then she screamed the house done," Edith mused as she looked at her daughter with a fond smile. "I have tonnes of stories about her as a child," the older woman hummed lightly. "She was a menace," she teased lightly. Mari just rolled her eyes and placed the basket on the table before sighing. "I wasn't that bad," she hummed lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly at Edith's comments, grinning widely when he learned his fiancee was a menace as her mother had said. "Oh, not much has changed then," he chirped lightly, really only teasing the girl. "She can still scream the house down if she so pleased," he chuckled, giving the girl a fondly amused look. He chuckled when Mari denied her childhood behaviors and reached over to grab a cake from the basket. He was enjoying this...teasing Mari yes, but also getting to know Edith a little bit better. She was nice, and he did like the older woman, so he did enjoy talking with her.

Mari rolled her eyes a poked his side as he started to tease her. "Please, I'm wonderful, or you wouldn't have asked to marry me," she hummed lightly with a bit of a pout before showing the little ring to her mother after a moment or two. She was planning to wait... but everyone was getting along. She could tell Anthony himself whenever he arrived. "I can't be that bad, can I?" She then added with a small chuckle. Her mother looked over at the two of them after a moment, a slow grin forming on her face. "Thank god," she mused to the two. "I was thinking I'd die before any of you got married," the older woman joked before rolling her eyes. Mari just let her grin get bigger... she wasn't sure what kind of reaction she was going to get, but this was good... and her mother clearly liked Sage, too.

Sage have the girl a grin and shrug. "Maybe I'm just crazy and think the fact that you could yell my ears off is cool," he hummed in an amused manner. He honestly thought it was kinda cute...and kinda hot, but he wasn't going to say that in front of her mother. Then he shrugged. "Besides, I can assume I was worse than you were," he pointed out with a chuckle. He grinned at the woman in response to her joke and bobbed his head. "See? I'm the one making your dreams come true," he joked to the older woman lightly. He figured she wouldn't mind....and she obviously had a sense of humor, so why not throw in a joke.

Mari rolled her eyes at him before huffing out a breath. "I think that is a little bit crazy," she mused, shaking her head a little bit. "But I totally could if I tried. See what you've gotten yourself into?" She mused to the boy, rolling her eyes once more. He was certainly stuck with her now. She then poked his side. "No, I bet you were more like him," she hummed gently. He probably was more like Silas... he was just in a very unfortunate situation, where that child-like part of him had been drained out. Edith let out a bit of a laugh to the younger boy before shaking her head. "I suppose so," the woman agreed, though she was still a bit reserve... but then again, she always had been. It was just nice that she was talking at all.

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "I could put yell you, I think," he mused, though he really had no intention of ever getting into a yelling match with the girl. "I think I've gotten myself into a pretty good spot to get stuck in," he snorted, grabbing another dessert. Then he glanced over at Silas and shrugged. "Well, we'll never figure it out I suppose," he hummed. "Mayne I should just tell you I was a perfect baby and never did anything bad," he joked lightly. But it was all nice to joke around together and get to know each other a bit more. He did hope Anthony showed up at some point, because he sort of wanted to prove himself to the older boy. Prove he could take care of Mari and Silas and, of course, show Silas off more. But if he didn't come that was fine ....they'd had a good time with her mom and Xander.

Mari rolled her eyes at him, her mother laughing a bit. "I've tried to out-yell her a few times now. I'm not sure anything or one can," she mused lightly before sighing softly. She was happy that her daughter had found Sage... Mari had been struggling beforehand with... a lot of things. Sage seemed to have just taken all of that away, somehow. She seemed happier now. Xander had started playing a game od peek-a-boo with the child, clearly more than excited to be around nis new nephew. Mari then scoffed at him. "I suppose we should. Or we could assume you were the worst baby ever," she hummed lightly before pecking his nose again. She still couldn't imagine him being a horrible child... he was still rather quiet now, in her opinion. At his comment about being in a good spot, she couldn't help her amused laugh. "You've barely seen the bad bits yet," she teased lightly. They did need to get going... though, Anthony hadn't shown up yet... she just wanted to show her big brother her little family, something she was so incredibly proud of. "We need to set off," she murmured quietly to him. "Will you tell Anthony we were here?" She asked lightly to her mother before pinching Silas off her and making a face at the boy, which caused a bit of a laugh to come from his gummy smile.

Sage shrugged lightly and gave Edith his normal crooked grin. "You might be surprised," he chuckled. He hummed lightly and then put his hand to his chest and widened his eyes in a mock disbelief. "Haven't seen the bad bits? I just watched you pop that thing out of you," he snorted, pointing at Silas. "I'd say that was about as bad as it'll get," he chuckled. He nodded when Mari mentioned heading out and then getting up to pack everything up and get ready to leave while she grabbed Silas. "I'll leave some cakes here for after dinner or whatever," he hummed. "Anthony deserved some of his little sisters cooking I think. I wouldn't wish a life without that on anyone," he declared happily, setting some cakes on a plate on the counter and setting a towel over them so they stayed clean. Then he wandered back into the living room and pressed a kiss to Mari's cheek, humming "ready to go," to her. Silas let out a babble and sort of kicked him away from Mari, which he found rather amusing. "Are you jealous," he cooed in a funny voice to the baby, pressing an overdramatic kiss to his forehead, which resulted in a happy squeal from the boy. And, well ...he grabbed a chunk of his hair and yanked that too. Sage squeaked and tried to wrangle the locks out of the chubby baby fist so he could stand up. "Hey, hey, hey, I need that," he told the baby, a laugh to his voice. Getting his hair back proved to be a bit of a challenge, but he managed it.

Mari couldn't help her laugh as the baby tried to wriggle away from her, but shifted a little bit so that he was pressed against each of his parents so she didn't drop the boy. She shifted a little bit so that she'd grabbed ahold of the baby better, holding a hand out so that the baby grabbed that instead of Sage's hair again. She pressed a kiss to the child's head before humming. "You're such a daddies boy," she hummed before patting his back. She waved goodbye to her mother and brother before leaving the door with a baby in her arms. She was practically glowing... the baby brought her so much happiness, along with the rest of her family. She loved them all so much, it was insane. "I've arranged to meet with the doctor later on... he was wanting to check up on Silas. Or meet him while he was awake," she mused lightly.
