Sage snorted and shook his head in a rather amused manner. "You'd probably whack me," he chuckled, knowing the girl would never actually hit him in an angry way...it would be a light whack. She knew that too, but it was still fun to tease. He chuckled when Amber rolled around to get her stomach rubbed and hummed in agreement. "That's ok, you love us anyway, do y you kitty," he cooed. Amber titled her head back to run it underneath his chin at the sound of his voice, reaching a paw to press against his chin as if telling him to talk less and let her more.

Mari pouted up at him before closing her eyes, a slightly amused smiled across her face. "Unless you tell me I guess we'll never know," she teased as she settled down. At his comment about Amber loving them, she nodded lightly before shaking her head. "I haven't got a clue why, though," she hummed with a bit of a smile, wrapping a leg around Sages side and an arm around his waist as she got comfortable... the rain outside was becoming rather heavy, and there was still the occasional flash of lightning and rumble of thunder... there was a bit of a storm, and to be honest she'd rather sleep through a storm than be awake and fretting through it... though she supposed she'd be up sooner or later anyway to feed Silas.

Sage chuckled lightly and shrugged. "I think I'd rather play it sage," he teased lightly before chuckling. "Well, I suppose it's the same reason I love you and Silas," he mused. "You're just...good people. And that's rather hard to find." He gave Amber a funny face after that. "Isn't that right kitty," he cooed, to which Amber responded by whacking him lightly with her paw again. He chuckled and half cringed at the thunder, knowing he'd probably get no sleep that night. He hated storms...and now that he was over protective of both Mari and Silas, he was admittedly nervous as to how this all would go.

Mari gave a bit of a hum to him before pecking his jaw tiredly. "That's a good call. Wouldn't want me out yelling you now would we," she teased him, referring to their earlier conversation. She couldn't help her proud smile when he said she and the child were good people... she really was just so proud of her little family. She couldn't have wanted anything more from them. "Amber agrees," she announced with a small laugh. She felt the slight shift when he cringed at the thunder, and opened her eyes a little to look back up at him. "We're alright," she hummed gently before squeezing him a little bit tighter in her arms.

Sage chuckled and grinned at the girl. "I'd rather not take the risk," he joked lightly. In all reality, he could make quite the fuss if he really wanted to, and no doubt he could scare the girl out of her wits. But he didn't want to do that. In fact, he was terrified of accidently doing it. He'd feel just terrible about it. He chuckled again in response to her small comment about Amber, who had by then hopped off him to lap at her water dish. He hummed lightly and turned so he could wrap his arms around her and bury his face in her chest, trying to just block out the storm. The lightning messed with him a bit too, but it was mostly the thunder that scared him. Well, it itself didn't scare him, the memories it brought with were the killer.

Mari hummed in agreement to him... she'd never actually shout at him. She also thought it'd be very difficult to even get angry at him in the first place... she was s very forgiving person anyway, but it seemed nearly impossible to think about getting angry with Sage. She didn't think if he really wanted to he'd scare her shitless, but she trusted him enough not to do that to her... she hoped he'd never do that to her. She already felt bad enough for being scared in the ways that she was. When he turned to bury his face in her chest, though, those thoughts completely vanished... and a gentle smile crossed her face. She didn't have to hope he wouldn't try and scare her like that... she knew he wouldn't. She wrapped an arm around his shoulder and rested her hand on the back of his neck, gently running her fingers through his hair as her chin rested on his, her leg wrapping around his side a little bit tighter as she tried to be some form of comfort to him... she already knew he wasn't the biggest fan of storms... she wasn't either, but he did just need a bit more reassurance with the sounds and memories that came with them for him.

Sage felt his shoulders relax a bit when Mari wrapped herself around him and started playing with his hair. The hair was always calming...he wasn't sure why, but he always enjoyed it when she played with his hair like that. It all just calmed him down in a special way. He wasn't sure why, but he definitely wasn't going to question it. It was almost as good as a nice back and shoulder rub...but he also knew she was much more likely to play with his hair than give him a rub. Which was fine, he wasn't going to ask the girl for anything she wasn't willing to give. He still flinched a bit at louder booms, but he eventually settled enough to fall into a light sleep. It was a fitful sleep, but sleep all the same.

Mari smiled softly when he relaxed a little bit... she just wanted him to be comfortable with her. As comfortable as he could be... she hoped he knew she'd always try and look after him the best she could. That was all she wanted. Soon enough, she drifted off to sleep, but was soon awoken by the babies soft coos. She sighed and scuttled over to grab the baby, figuring he was lightly hungry and a bit unsettled by the storm. That was fair... both of his parents weren't fans of it either, so they couldn't expect him to be. She had a bottle to hand incase he didn't take to her again? But this time was certainly easier. Once he'd drifted off to sleep, she let him rest on her chest, fingering he'd sleep a bit better while he was being held.

Sage slept for a while, though Silas'soft cops woke him up. Mari had already gotten the boy though, so he let himself drift off again, and shifting in closer to Mari with a soft huff of air. It was still storming, and it was pretty obvious none of them were very good with the storm itself....but Silas had fallen asleep and he was pretty alright he thought. Mari was alright too...it probably helped that they were all cuddled up together. (I have testing all day so I won't be on much after a bit after 7 game time)

(No worries!) Mari slept through the rest of the night alright... obviously, the storm was unsettling, but she wasn't struggling too much with it all... she had her two favourite people around her, so she was content. She woke up early the next morning, though, and went to make up some breakfast for both her and Sage. She returned with some waffles and a tea for him before placing it gently on the side and placing little Silas in his crib before crawling over to Sage and waking him up with a gentle kiss to the lips and a smile. "Morning," she chirped happily.
