Sage eventually meandered back to their room and walked in to see Mari playing with Silas. He grinned at the sight and hummed a hello, leaning over to kiss the two of them hello...Mari got a sweaty peck on the lips and Silas got one on the head. It resulted in a wide grin from both of them, which was always nice. "Hey baby boy," he chirped when Silas grabbed a hold of his shirt. "I gotta shower before I hold you," he chuckled. "I don't think mommy wants me to get you all sweaty," he noted with amusement, even if the baby couldn't understand him.

Mari couldn't help her delighted grin when the boy came in, and Silas pretty much mirrored her... well, she supposed the baby looked like Sage, but he had her smile at least, even if it was a gummy baby version. She furrowed her brows and pouted when he placed a sweaty kiss on her lips, and admittedly had to wipe her mouth. "Daddy's all stinky," she murmured in a baby voice to Silas before chuckling, wiping the child's head jokingly. She nodded when he said he was going to get a shower, and held the baby's hand up so that it looked like he was waving. "No, she doesn't want a sweaty baby at all," the girl then replied before chuckling. She watched him wander off, and then about ten minutes later he returned. "How were the horses," she asked him with a bit of a smile, holding the child up so he could take him.

Sage rolled his eyes when Mari pretended to wipe Silas off and nodded in response to her other comment with a chuckle. He grabbed a different outfit and slipped into the shower, washing himself quickly. He wasn't very keen on taking another shower, but the warm water did feel nice on his sore muscles, and he was pretty gross. A second shower made it possible to cuddle up with Mari and Silas, so he was alright with it if thats what it meant. "They were good," he hummed lightly. "Mystery can almost hold a saddle, and I'm going to start weaning three of the colts tomorrow. Chaos is content too, out in his paddock," he chirped. He really liked the horses, and it was rather obvious based off of the way his face lit up in response to her question. He scooped Silas up happily, and the happy babbled excitedly, reaching up to grab at his face and then his shirt when he moved his nose away from the child's chubby grip. He plopped down next to Mari, sitting the baby up on his lap and wrapping his arms around him protectively.

Mari couldn't help her fond smile when the boy started to talk happily about his horses... she did love seeing him talk about something he loved so much... it was nice. "We need to take Silas down there at some point," she told him with a small smile. "I bet he'd love to see the horses - especially if he goes with his dad," she told him lightly. When he flopped down next to her, she smiled and leaned on him a tiny bit. She went to poke the child's stomach playfully, copping a little laugh from the baby. "Or maybe not... he might become horse mad and I'll have to buy him a pony for his first birthday," she told him with a laugh.

Sage chuckled lightly at Mari's comment and looked down at the baby. "Do you want a pony," he cooed, the baby looking up at him with wide eyes and gummy smile. He really did have Mari's smile...and her open face, too, he thought. He just seemed to have her personality, happy and playful and nice to everyone. "That's ok, you can ride chaos with daddy," he hummed, squeezing the babys middle lightly, resulting in a peal of giggles from the baby. (I was thinking once he gets a bit older and starts crawling, it would be interesting for him to spook a horse and sage jumps in the way and ends up hurt lol)

Mari shook her head a little bit before closing her eyes with a bit of a chuckle. "You'll have to get him one now," she told him with a bit of a laugh. It was amusing... but it would be nice for him to have something to do with his father. She wouldn't go near the horses... but at least Sage would have Silas to do it with. She wrapped her arm around his side, closing her eyes a little bit, listening to Sage talk and the happy coos from their child... it was like music to her ears. "Wanna go get dinner?" She asked quietly. (Ooh, yeah, that could be interesting!) Edited at April 14, 2023 07:00 PM by Belle

(Ok, I'll keep that in the back of my mind lol. We can do a time skip of a few months after his birthday or something) Sage chuckled and bounced the baby on his knee, which Silas definitely enjoyed. "I think chaos with me is plenty for a while," he hummed lightly. The boy couldn't even sit up yet...it would be a while until he could control a horse. At least five years or so. Probably longer. Most likely longer. He nodded in response to Mari's suggestion, a sheepish smile crossing his face. "I am hungry I guess," he admitted with a chuckle.

Mari sighed before rolling her eyes. "Get him a baby saddle... he can just flop around," she joked lightly, knowing full well they'd never do that to their child. "Once he can sit himself up... he doesn't need to be able to control a horse to plod about on something," she told him with a small hum. When he said they could eat, she grinned lightly at him, slipping the baby from his arms and placing him back in his crib... they wouldn't be long... they could leave him here for a little bit. It meant they could cook without worrying about him falling off a high chair or something. "Right... you're cooking tonight," she told him with a bit of a grin.

Sage chuckled lightly at the thought of the boy flopping around on a horse. They'd never do that, of course, but it was a slightly amusing thought all the same. He nodded with a hum and shrugged, handing the child off so Mari could put him away. He groaned when she told him he had to cook dinner. "I just got back from work," he complained, though he didn't really mind. "Come on, I'm hungry," he chirped after a minute, grabbing the girls hand and tugging her along. "What sounds good to you?"

Mari settled the baby in his crib, pecking his head before she was dragged off towards the kitchen. She hummed lightly before shrugging. "It was your choice to work with the horses, y'know," she told him with a small chuckle. She looked thoughtful before shrugging. "I'll have whatever you make. I've never tried your cooking, you know," she chirped lightly to him. They soon got to the kitchen, and she jumped on the counter, swinging her legs happily. "Just as long as you promise not to poison me, I'll eat anything," she joked lightly, grabbing the papers the cook had left on the side, flicking through it happily.
