Sage snorted and shook his head, rather amused at their whole conversation. "I stole your heart," he shot back at her mischievously. 'and you're never going to be able to get it back," he giggled, rather happy he'd come up with that one. He chuckled when she mentioned Anthony's disapproving face was just...his face. "Well, I have to give the guy credit," he hummed. "We were in the same boat. If you were Liz I'd probably handle it all a lot worse than him," he pointed out with a slight chuckle. He grinned sheepish and nodded in response to her last comment, shrugging slightly. "Luther and I had fun," he hummed. "Though, he hid behind the corner when I opened that door. Apparently the queen is rather scary when upset."

Mari hummed lightly at his comment, having to cover her mouth a she held back a laugh. "I'm sorry, that was so cheesy," she chuckled before wandering back over and wrapping her arms around his neck. "And sweet, but mainly cheesy," she chuckled lightly. She smiled thoughtfully when he mentioned her brother. "He's always looked after us. I think he's just worried all of this is going to go wrong, is all. He was worried about the pregnancy because we hadn't really known each other for too long... and that was fair. I'm not sure what I'd think if Xander went and got some random girl pregnant after two minutes either," she hummed gently. She then smiled at his next comment. "I bet you were a great brother," she hummed quietly before leaning up to peck his lips. She couldn't stop her small chuckle when he talked about the queen. "She was probably stressed out - and you were stressing everyone else out too," she mused lightly.

Sage chuckled slightly and gave the girl a sheepish grin. "It sounded better in my head," he admitted with a laugh. He hummed lightly and nodded, though at the second part of her comment about Xander getting a girl pregnant he gasped in mock offense. "It was longer than two minutes," he complained, though he still had a smile on his face. He felt a smile cross his face in response to the girls kiss and shrugged. "I did what I could," he hummed. It was true....she'd still died, and they hadn't had a wonderful life, but they'd had eachother, and it helped a lot. He snorted at Mari's last comment and wrinkled his nose. "She was stressing people out too," he huffed. Then his face broke into a mischievous grin, and his eyes lit up. "But even if I got in trouble, hearing her squeal like a little girl was totally worth it," he giggled.

Mari chuckled lightly to him before pecking his lips lightly. "You tried, that's what matters," she mused lightly. It was a little bit amusing, she had to admit that. And he had, like he said, stolen her heart, so it was true to that extent. She grinned up at his next comment. "Yeah? How long was it then, Sage?" She mused lightly. "You know, since you're timing and all," she teased him lightly. She then cocked her head at him... she bet he missed his sister like hell. It sounded like she was his entire world... and it made sense. She was all he had for so long... he would have been so broken when he lost her. "You'll be a good dad, too... you already are," she hummed gently. "How old was she, when she died?" she asked after a few moments. She then raised a brow at him. "Ah, so that's why the queen struggles to stand you," she mused lightly.

Sage chuckled slightly and wrinkled his nose. "Even I can tell it was awful," he noted with amusement. He felt his cheeks warm when she teased him about timing things...really, he hadn't been timing it all that closely, but it had been closer to two months than two minutes. "It was a couple months, alright," he squeaked, whacking her arm lightly. He hummed lightly when she said he was a good dad. He tried, he really did, but somewhere in the back of his mind, the thought that he'd fail Silas and Mari too haunted him. He hummed and leaned into her slightly at her question, sighing as he thought. "Twelve," he eventually murmured. "And barely twelve at that." Then he shrugged. "Maybe. That and the fact that I had quite the attitude then," he hummed.

Mari chuckled lightly and tightened her arms around his shoulders a little bit. "It was awful, really, really awful," she told him with a bit of a chuckle. She chuckled when he admitted it... whenever they were together, it'd certainly felt a lot less time. She supposed she'd always enjoyed her time with him, so it all felt quicker. "Two months still isn't long," she mused softly. "Obviously long enough, though," she added lightly. She let him lean into her, gently running her fingers along the back of his neck in a kind of soothing manner. So Lizzie would have been about Xanders age... god, she couldn't imagine losing her little brother now. It would have been awful for him... Sage would have still been young himself. "How old would she be now?" She asked softly... she'd never really spoken to him about his sister... but she did want to know about it. She then gave a small smile. "You still have quite the attitude you know," she hummed lightly.

Sage rolled his eyes and nodded. "Yes, I know it was awful," he groaned. "You don't have to remind me," he chuckled. He shrugged and nodded with a hum, though, at her next comment. Two months really was too early...but it had been a once in a lifetime chance, and they'd gotten lucky, that was it. He thought about how old Lizzie would be now, trying to do the math. "She was a summer baby, so...sixteen maybe," he mused softly. He appreciated Mari's soothing movement...he was fine with talking to Mari about these things, but it still definitely wasn't easy. It never got any easier either, it just...well, he supposed he just got used to the feeling. But Lizzie was special to him, even if she was dead, and he did want Mari to know about her. Then he snorted. "Oh, I know. I'm just nice to the people I like. Who is all I ever talk to."

Mari chuckled lightly to him before shaking her head. "You have to feel lucky that I still love you! I'm going to repeat it... it was awful," she giggled lightly before patting his chest. She hummed thoughtfully before smiling lightly. "Well, that means it'll be nearly a year since we met," she hummed lightly. "A year next month," she babbled happily. "We'll have t go and do something nice... maybe dinner or something?" She then chirped. "Which reminds me, is there anything you'd like to do for your birthday? Anything you want?" She asked lightly. "You're getting old, sir... we need to celebrate," she joked. She furrowed her brows a little bit when he spoke about his sister... if she was anything like him, she was sure she would have been wonderful. She wished she could have gotten to meet her... considering she'd been such a giant part of his life. She hummed at his next comment. "Be nice to everyone, you'll get more from it," she teased him lightly.

Sage snorted and shook his head slightly. "Oh please, you'd love me no matter how cheesy I got," he pointed out lightly. He nodded at her next comment, his face brightening at the fact that she'd want to go do something for their...well, it'd be their one year anniversary, he supposed. Even if they weren't married yet. "That sounds great," he chirped. "We can go somewhere a bit nicer than usual," he hummed. Then he gave the girl a pointed look. "But I'm paying for it," he huffed. "And I'm not taking no for an answer." Normally, he was fine if she wanted to split the cost or whatever, but this was something special, and he should pay for it. It was custom for the guy to pay....and he'd done a pretty poor job at that, with both her and Anya, actually. But he had a job now...and he wanted to do this. He could be more stubborn than the girl...and she wasn't going to pay for this. Then he shrugged with a hum and shook his head. "Oh, I don't particularly care. You and Anya, and the doctor, you all like to spoil me too much," he chuckled. "its just a birthday, it's not that big of a deal," he hummed. Then he wrinkled his nose and grunted at her last comment. "I dunno, taking the queen's anger for scaring the shit out of her was completely worth it," he chirped.

Mari chuckled and rolled her eyes a little bit. "I do, for some reason. I don't know why," she chuckled lightly. She did love him... again, she couldn't wrap her head around why, but she absolutely did. He was perfect to her, and he knew as much. When he agreed to go out with her, she grinned happily. Of course, she'd much rather pay... but if Sage offered, he could afford it. He wasn't the kind to turn down financial help, so she wouldn't argue if he wanted to pay... she'd just treat him later. "Fine, fine, as long as you let me do something nice in return," she chirped happily. The girl then cocked her head a little bit when he said he didn't care. She pouted a little bit and pecked his lips before unravelling herself away from him and taking his hand, leading him back towards their room gently. "Yes, but we get to celebrate you," she hummed happily. "I want to get you something nice," she complained quietly. She wasn't sure what he'd like... he was more of a momento kind of person, but she'd find him something, she was sure. She then rolled her eyes. "I mean, she is the queen... I'd steer clear of upsetting her," she chuckled lightly.
