"Yeah, true." She noted, thinking over for another moment. Elara smiled slightly when he said he wasn't going to runn away and let the two fight on their own since she'd kill them. "Good to know you care about us, unlike some people."

Sage hummed softly and shrugged. "Well, either we all get out of the situation or it's not worth it," he noted. They'd either all live or all die. He wouldn't let her take him again. And if she and Liz were killed, he really wouldn't want to fight anymore anyway, he supposed.

Elara nodded, listening to his words. She knew either they'd all live, or if any of them died, fighting wouldn't be worth anything. If Sage was killed it'd crush Elara, making her feel as though she failed. It wouldn't be worth it to fight if one of them died........ right?

Sage was silent for a few moments, watching the fire burn, thinking about how so much could go wrong so quickly. "As long as we are here, alive, I will fight," he murmured, turning his head to meet her gaze. "I have fought my entire life....and I had nothing to fight for then." He shook his head slightly. "Now I do. And I'll do everything in my power to keep it that way."

Elara listened as he spoke, but stayed silent for a moment. She looked into his eyes for a second, for which hers weren't there usual confident look, but more stressed and unsure, maybe a hint of sadness yet joy. The woman looked away though, nodding. "You and me both," She said softly after a moment, clearing her throat. "Dinner's not going to cook itself," Elara mumbled, standing and walking to go grab some deer to cook.

Sage nodded, understanding how she felt. There was a good chance they'd all die out here. But fighting was really all he knew how to do ...he wasn't sure he could fight Amy, especially not for himself. But for Liz, and Vary, and Elara, and this life they were building....he thought he could fight for that. "No, I suppose it's not going to do that," he hummed with a slight note of amusement to his voice when she brought dinner up, reaching over to build the flame up higher. Elara let out a soft chuckle, cutting some deer and tossing a chunk to Varys before walking over to the fire. "It'd be amusing if it could, it'd be like; 'oh look at me, i'm going to spin over flames'. It would be pretty entertaining." She mused, sitting back down.

Sage chuckled softly, imagining what that might look like. "It would be something alright," he mused. "Though I'm not sure if want to eat it after watching it dance around like some sort of zombie," he half joked with another laugh.

Elara laughed at his response, patting Vary's side as he settled beside her, a smidge of blood on his muzzle. "Honestly, neither would I." She mused, turning the meat.

Sage nodded along, a smile still lingering on his face. He reached over to pet the wolf as he flipped down in between them, then moved to scoop a now very sleepy Liz up off the ground. It didn't take long for her to pass out in his arms, and it was honestly a peaceful sight to watch. To have her there, grounding him ..he wasn't sure he'd ever get used to it.
