Elara took the deer off the rack, cutting it into cubes and portions. She looked over and smiled at Liz, watching her drift off. "She's so cute sometimes," The woman mused, setting a plate infront of Sage and avoiding it from Varys.

Sage hummed softly in agreement, looking down at the girl curled up in his arms. "She's why I'm still here," he noted softly, shifting slightly so he could eat without waking her. It was more than just being here at this cabin though, it was why he hadn't given up on life entirely, a long time ago. She was why he was still fighting, still trying to live. It was for her, not him, but he would stick around as long as she needed him. But he had a feeling Elara would get it. She got him like no one else ever had...it was ironic really, since they were from opposite ends of the social ladder. Of life, really. And yet they were so similar in so many ways.

Elara remained smiling softly, watching the two's interaction. "I can see that, your reason to keep fighting." She said understandingly, knowing Liz was the reason Sage didn't give up, didn't give in to anything. Elara got it, as she probably understood him better then anybody else had. It was funny in it's own way, since she was a princess, and if she was still in the castle, he'd be nothing more then a worm to her. Different ends of the social statuses, more of life then statuses. Her wealthy and known, him on the streets and unknown except to those who saw him. They were different, yet similar in too many ways for her to count. It was a moment before she spoke again, softly, barely above the crackle of the now dying fire. "I had somebody like her, but he was older then her, and he promised me only things we can imagine. Yet in the end, he fell for some other woman, personally, I never liked him except for when he understood me, and listened. Motivated me, if you will. When he left, it was hard in ways, but I got over quickly. Freedom was back, but I never stopped with him, he usually proved that even rags can fight back." She informed quietly, swallowing a bite of deer. "You remind me of him, in ways. You've proved that you won't stop fighting if you have something to fight for, no, no, somebody to fight for." Elara told him, taking another bite of the meat. "'You've practically made everything people throw at you ricochet off. Since, the thing you've been threw, i'm sure people would've given up. But you didn't, you still fought. Impressive in my opinion." She mused, sliding her plate to the pile as she scratched Varys behind the ears.

Sage listened as Elara spoke, nodding along to her comments about having someone. "People can be cruel," he murmured softly. He knew how bad peopole could get, probably more than most. He saw what went on in the streets, in the alleys no one carerd about. He looked down at his now empty plate as she started talking about him though, shaking his head softly. "No," he murmured. "I'm still here because I have to be. That's not strength, that's no imressive. It's just another job that needs to get done," he added, tightening his hold on Liz. Maybe it was a bit morbid, but he didn't really care. Besides, there was something about opening up to her that made things...not better, but a little bit lighter. Of course, it could all backfire on him, and he still half expected it to happen...but he supposed if that happened it wouldn't matter anyway. "You had the strength to do something about the situation you were in," he pointed out. "That's strength." He shook his head with a sigh. "I just...kept crawling back to her."

(sorry for abandoning this lol didn't know what to write till now) Elara was quiet for a moment, listening throughly to Sage's words. "Well, it's either because you loved her or....heck I don't know, dead inside."

(you're good lol. Imma have any come in and cause some chaos soon too. Need some drama xD) Sage let out a bitter laugh and shook his head slightly. "Both," he admitted. "It's still both." He shrugged, just staring at the sky. "I'm not sure it'll ever be anything different," he added softly.

(chaos, i love it) "Well then, either you can choose to keep loving her or, move on." She suggested, quieting. -wish you didn't but, alright-

(lol, for sure) Sage let out a soft sigh and glanced over at her with a small smile. "Believe me, I've tried," he noted. "But then she calms down....treats me ok for once. Plays with my mind. I know it won't last, but the sometimes I get a hug or a kiss or a reassuring word draws me back in each time," he admitted softly. Maybe Elara could help get him over her.

Elara thought for a moment, offering a glmipse of a smile before looking away, back towards the fire. "I know you love her, but what she does....that isn't love."

Sage hummed softly and nodded. "I know that," he noted with a sigh. "But apparently I'm not strong enough to choose to walk away on my own," he admitted with a heavy breath.
