Mari smiled softly to him, her hand stretched out to run around his back. She enjoyed listening to him talk about someone he loved so much... she briefly wondered if that was the only reason he cared for herself that much, but soon brushed it off. That couldn't be it... he'd married her for a reason, and it certainly wasn't because she reminded him of his sister. That would be a bit... sadistic. She the. Went on to think of what she'd do if she lost one of her brothers... god, she'd be heart broken. She felt a lump form in her throat as she thought about that... and soon her cheeks were wetted with tears. She wasn't sure why. Maybe it was just the thought or... something. "I'm sorry she's not here," she whispered to him.

Sage hummed lightly in response to the girls comment and nodded. "Me too," he whispered. "But I think she's present sometimes ...I don't know if it was my imagination or because I was hurt or whatever...but when I've been in touch spots she's been there. I've seen her," he hummed lightly. "that helps." He shrugged slightly and looked down at Mari, and was admittedly rather surprised when he noticed her eyes and cheeks were shiny with tears. "what's wrong," he asked, really rather bewildered ... She hadn't even ever met Lizzie, and he really wasn't sure how him talking about her had started the waterworks, but he certainly hoped she wasn't too upset...they were supposed to have a good time at their honeymoon.

Mari shook her head a little bit and buried further into him. She shouldn't be upset... she was just a little bit emotional, for whatever reason. She shouldn't be, as they were talking about Sages sister and it seemed a bit too self indulgent for her to to do that... but she couldn't help it. She hated that she hadn't gotten to meet her, and for her to be apart of their family; that Sage didn't get to see his beloved sister anymore, and the idea of losing her own siblings made her heart rench. "No, no, nothings up," she whisperered to him with a small smile. She wasn't upset... she'd just thought about things too much and gotten herself in a bit of a tizzy. "So... you see her," she sniffled quietly. "That must be... scary, though," she asked gently to him.

Sage hummed lightly, squeezing the girl tighter for a moment and sighing slightly in response to her comment. "It was at first...then the more I thought about it, the odder it all just seemed. Now it's more of a comfort than anything...knowing she's still there even if I can't always see her." He chuckled slightly and shrugged. "Even if I'm just imagining her because my brain is screwed up completely, it's certainly nice sometimes," he admitted. She even showed up in nightmares, and helped him out, really quite often. Between her and Mari and Silas, and the doctor and Anya, he was pretty darn well off.

Mari buried closer into him for a few moments, shielding her face so that he wouldn't have to see the wet tears run down her face. It was a bit off, how you could go from being so upbeat and happy to just a bit emotional. It probably didn't help that the side effects from their tavern visit the night before were only just starting to wear off. She wasn't really that upset. She held onto him a bit tighter. "That must be nice," she whispered gently. "Knowing she's still about. What do you think she thinks of Silas?" She whispered again, her voice weavering gently. It was very selfish to cry, especially when it was his loved one who he was talking about, so she tried to keep it to a minimum. "Do you think she's happy with where you've ended up?"

Sage hummed lightly and nodded, then cocked his head slightly as he thought. "She was always wanting me to be happy....she'd bring me little gifts here and there, or beg me to go have some time playing about with her to release some stress...so I think she's glad I found you, and had Silas," he eventually hummed. "She wanted me to be happy...no doubt it's the same now....so I'm sure she's very grateful to you," he hummed lightly. "And I'm sure she loves Silas," he chuckled. "who wouldn't?" Silas was pretty much the perfect baby...anyone could admit that. He did hope for another one though, he really did. And the sooner the better, really, so it was close in age to Silas.

Mari nodded quietly before looking up at him with a bit of a smile. "She sounds sweet," she hummed quietly before wrapping around him tightly. She was glad he thought so. She just wanted him to be happy... if there was an afterlife, and his sister was still around somewhere, she hoped the girl was proud of how far her brother had come. He was a good guy. She didn't need some dead person she'd never met to be grateful to her, she just wanted Sage to feel like someone was watching over him and routing for him... because if it would be anyone, it would be his sister. "Silas is a sweetheart," she hummed lightly.

Sage hummed lightly and nodded in response to the girl's comment. Lizzie was always so nice...he never understood how someone could be awful to hear and she'd still help them out if they got lost or something. Maybe she was just stronger than he was, in that sense. "She was amazing," he sighed after a moment, nestling into the girl a bit more. His chest still aches horribly when he thought or talked about the girl, but it was becoming more manageable. At the girl's next comment he chuckled and nodded happily. "He's amazing too," he chirped. "And so will any others we have." He did still hope for another one ...maybe it was foolish if him, but he did want one more.

Mari hummed in agreement to him. She wished she could have met his sister. They'd probably crossed paths at some point when she was young... that thought made her briefly wonder if she and Sage had ever crossed paths. They might have bumped shoulders, of briefly shared a glance as teens. Or maybe not. They'd never know, but it was certainly interesting to think about. She hummed in thought at his comment. "If we have another child, and you put another baby in me like Silas, we're not going to ger along," she mused lightly. "You and your demon babies," she huffed in amusement, her head buried into his chest. She knew it wasn't his fault at all, she just wasn't particularly well equipped to carry children, not considering the difficulties she'd had growing up, but she could joke all the same.

Sage chuckled lightly and patted the girls back from where he was wrapped around her. "Oh, I think you'll manage," he hummed lightly. "you love my demon babies," he giggled lightly, really just joking around a bit. She loved Silas, a lot, and they both knew it so he could joke about it. "Besides, if you want another one, you're gonna have to carry it, cause I don't exactly have the necessities for that," he noted with amusement. He was definitely not built to carry or birth a baby....thinking about trying to push something like that out of his own body made ...well, it made everything ache in a rather uncomfortable way, so he decided to stop thinking about it right then and there.
