Mari hummed gently to him reaching out to gently pull him into slightly shallower water so that she could at least stand on her tip toes while they talked. She then grabbed onto him, because he did have a better hold on the ground than she had. She then raised a brow at him. "Oh, so you were a ball-less cock that didn't want to get into a relationship over... cleaning your wounds?" She hummed lightly to him. "Welp, didn't work anyway, huh?" She then chuckled. She was happy, very happy about how things had gone, though. "I barely remember... it was to the lake, wasn't it? I remember that, but I don't think we did anything else until you decided you wanted to propose," she mused lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly and shrugged. "That's one way of putting it," he noted with amusement. He let the girl tug him into slightly shallower water and hang on to him happily. "No, I suppose it didn't," he hummed. "Though, I must say I had my reasons for saying away from relationships, of any kind," he mused. He wasn't upset ...not at all....but he had plenty of reasons to stay away from people and not get into more relationships. He certainly was glad he'd fallen for Mari so deeply, because other wise he'd have forced himself away if he could have. He nodded at her next comment though. "Yeah, that was it," he hummed. "But you got pregnant soon enough," he giggled in an almost mischievous manner.

Mari nodded slowly to him before pecking his nose. "It's the right way, though," she told him with an amused snicker. She didn't mean it... he knew that. She was just glad that she could joke with her husband and laugh at themselves... she'd never wanted a relationship where they couldn't poke fun at one another every now and then. She was glad she'd gotten what she had with Sage. "I know you did, hun," she told him softly, pecking his lips once more. "And your reasons were very valid," she continued lightly as she rested her forehead against his. "So that was your plan? Get me pregnant so I'd have to stay?" She mused lightly to him before rolling her eyes.

Sage hummed lightly, grinning over at the girl in response to her peck. "If you say so," he chirped, his normal dumb grin crossing his face when she kissed him again. Then he snorted out a laugh and shrugged, still grinning over at the girl happily. "You never know," he mused lightly. "Though having a baby wasn't part of my original plan, no." Then he made a face. "Not that there was an original plan...or any kind of plan at all," he admitted with amusement. That was sort of how he worked....he didn't exactly plan much out. He'd worked hard at planning the honeymoon though, he could admit that. But normally, he jumped right into things without thinking very hard about it.

Mari hummed gently to him, tightening her grip around his shoulders. "I do," she chirped to him, her eyes bright and happy. She then cocked her head at him, looking rather curious. "Well, you said that wasn't the original plan... so there had to be a plan, right?" she asked with a bit of a giggle. "I'd looove to hear what it would have been like minus the child," she mused to him before rolling her eyes. She knew there wasn't actually a plan... but she could still tease. Make it sound like there was some kind of master plan behind all of it, although there very well wasn't one.

Sage snorted at the girl's comment and rolled his eyes, shaking his head in obvious amusement. "If there was ever a plan, it was to keep to myself," he chuckled lightly. "Though that went out the window rather quickly, I must say, once you butted in and started bossing me around," he hummed, nudging the girl slightly in a teasing manner. He definitely didn't mind that she'd come into his life...in fact it was quite the opposite. But he could tease anyway. And he was quite delighted to have gotten Silas as well as Mari. He did hope for another, but he was delighted with what he already had, too.

Mari chuckled lightly to him, a gasp escaping her. "My golly gosh, Sage! Did you just roll your eyes," how very impolite of you," she chuckled lightly to him. "Out the window when you met meeee?" She hummed with a bit of a laugh. "And you wouldn't know what to do with yourself if you didn't have me bossing you around," she told him with a bit of a yip. She was happy with everything... how they'd met, how they'd come to be a couple... how they'd had a child and gotten married now. Hell, they were trying for another one and searching for a house to settle down in. She wasn't expecting any of this to have happened in the last two years, but yet, it had... and she was so, so thrilled about it.

Sage let out a laugh at the girl's comment and grinned over at her. "Flew out the window the moment I saw you," he giggled, leaning over to peck her on the nose. "And it never came back either," he noted with amusement. Then he nodded, grinning wider. "See! Exactly, I don't need a plan because you boss me around," he chirped happily, giving the girl a comically wide grin. But he was certainly very glad about how it had all turned out...Mari had definitely been what he'd needed, and Silas was, of course, quite wonderful too. And their next child would be just as great.

Mari chuckled softly to him before shaking her head. "I haven't a clue why you would have done that, though. Me of all people," she chuckled before shaking her head. "I'd understand it if it was for someone you'd known for years... but nope, just me," she then giggled lightly. She couldn't help but smile at him, her eyes bright as she mirrored his happy grin. "You like having me to guide you," she giggled happily to him before pecking his lips and moving to wrap her legs around him as they stood. They were in the water, so she could afford to do something like that without pulling him down next to her.

Sage hummed lightly and shrugged. "I guess I saw something in you," he chirped. "not that I was willing to accept that at first," he admitted with amusement. Then he grinned in response to her peck, nodding happily. "Yep," he chirped, wrapping his arms loosely around her waist when she wrapped her legs around him. She wasn't super heavy anyway, but they were standing in shoulder deep water, so she weighed almost nothing. He still didn't really understand how the water worked, or why it was so salty, but it was cool so he didn't question it too much. He was just content to look up at Mari, an absolutely smitten grin plastered on his face.
