"I'm literally in a different STATE than he is, how would I be in danger?" Iris was trying to stay calm but it was all so confusing that she didn't think she could for long. Kinley was doing her best to explain. "Legal stuff is crazy," she said. "Do you think maybe you overreacted to him telling you that he ran off?" Iris thought about it for a minute before answering. "Not really? Not at first. But then he vented about how bad he was feeling and then I tried to reassure him, but I think that's when I went to far. I kind of... Suggested that he should turn himself in." Kinley looked at her in confusion. Iris clenched her fists. "I KNOW it was a stupid idea but what other options are there? I've never been pulled over so I have no idea how any of the court stuff works or whatever and I just wanted the best outcome but I just made it worse--" Iris started crying again, this time from frustration and exhaustion. |

Caden stopped at a chainlink fence gate, pulling it open before driving down the overgrown and cracked road, eventually slipping onto an old racecar track he'd discovered years ago, standing for a moment before starting at a slow pace around it. Doing so he learned the ups and downs, techniques to and not to use, and where to slow down and speed up. Once this process was done, he didn't think of anything else, only the turns and such, putting his mind at ease as he started speeding up. |

Kinley decided to ask less questions and reassure Iris instead. "Hey, it's okay. It's going to turn out all right. I don't know how it's going to end up but everything's going to be okay. Stop thinking about what you did or said in the past and focus on right now and the future. What do you need right now? What do you think Caden needs?" Iris took some deep breaths, and when she was done wiping her tears, she said, "Um, maybe... I need some water?" They both smiled-- Iris weakly-- and Kinley fetched her water bottle. Iris took a swig, then started again. "I don't want him to be mad at me anymore. I guess I should apologize? I don't know what to apologize for. Everything? It is all my fault..." |

Caden carried on, eventually getting up to 140mph / lap before breaking focus only for a split second, drifting his mind to Iris and immediately forgetting to lean, going to turn and the front wheel going one way before going the other, the man bracing himself against the asphalt before sliding to a stop, having at least slid with a glove on, catching most of himself besides a gnarly case of road burn all on his calf. "Really? Nice one, Caden. Nice one." He muttered, checking the damage to the bike before getting out of the place, heading back home. |

"Maybe ask him what you did wrong? So you know what to apologize for?" Was Kinley's suggestion. She handed Iris her phone to call him. Iris's fingers hovered over the call button for multiple seconds before setting the phone down. "I don't think I can do it. I mean, not right now. I need some time first..." |

Caden pulled into his garage, quickly grabbing something to wrap around his leg so the blood wouldn't get anywhere as he started making his way inside. The man quickly dashed inside, grabbing a clean change of clothes as he slipped into the shower, running the bloody mess under water for a while, doing his best to remove all the dirt by washing it along with everything else. |

Kinley seemed reluctant to let Iris wait. "...Alright. But the sooner, the better." With that, she left to go grocery shopping. Iris sighed. She wanted to take a nap. A nice, long nap. Wait a minute. It was evening. She could just go to sleep! The thought was wonderful, and she hurried to get in bed. |

Once he got out and re-dressed, the man grabbed a thing of anti-bacterial and dumped it on the wound, hissing at the burn before dabbing it dry. It had stopped bleeding by then, and he figured it'd be best to cover it. Caden walked over to a cabinet and pulled out the--well, it was pretty much a cling wrap which acted as a second skin, it tricked the skin into thinking it was scabbed over and healing quicker, which was why he always used it on new tattoos. He wrapped it around his calf, quickly brushing his teeth before sinking into bed, drifting off immediately. |

Iris tossed and turned all night, despite how exhausted she was. When the sun woke her up at 5:30 in the morning, she didn't feel like she'd slept a minute. The first thing she thought was that she needed to apologize to Caden. She got her phone and typed out a text. -Hi. Sorry about yesterday. It was all my fault and I hope you forgive me.- She scrutinized it before deleting it all. Too forceful. The perfect message would take a long time to write. Might as well get some breakfast now. |

Caden eventually awoke the next morning, sitting up with a groan as he rubbed at his eyes, realizing he left his contacts in from yesterday. The man sat up, walking over to his bathroom before throwing the old ones out, grabbing his glasses and tossing them on before stumbling down to the kitchen. He needed to apologize to Iris, at some point. After tearing up half his house in search of his phone, he eventually found it and opened his text messages, seeing the two's previous argument layed out infront of him. -i'm sorry about last night, I was mad and already stressed out, I shoudn't of snapped at you, even through text.- Was all he sent, figuring it was good enough as nothing else came to mind. Pulling open his fridge he grabbed a white Monster out and cracked the seal, taking a long sip. |
