Mari curled up happily to him after a moment or two and wrapped a leg around his side as she tried to curl in as much as she could. She hoped he'd enjoyed himself... she knew the last few birthdays of his had been less than stellar, but this should be good... hopefully. She hoped he thought it had been good. It could have been better, though. Next year would be perfect, she was sure of that. "I hope you enjoyed yourself today, hun," she murmured quietly to him as she rested her head on his chest. "Next year, when Silas is old enough to come out to dinner or something we'll do that," she whispered quietly as she slowly started to drift off to sleep.

Sage smiled when he felt the girl wrap up and around him and he hummed happily in response to her comment. "It was wonderful," he assured her sleepily, hugging her a bit tighter and resting his head in a place his face was sort of in her hair...her scent was just as comforting as her warmth, and he wanted it all. He smiled happily when she mentioned next year, and hummed lightly. "I'd like that," he agrees softly before yawning and curling up into her again, already drifting off to sleep. He had much to look forward to...but for now, he'd just have to plan on making Maris birthday just as wonderful as his had been. (After they get back and she goes to the doctor to figure out she was pregnant and whatnot, we can skip ahead a few months to her birthday/the finished house and whatnot so they can start actually moving in if you'd like)

(Yep, of course!) Mari smiled happily to him as she slowly drifted off, a small nod escaping her. She wanted him to be happy... she wanted him to enjoy himself. That was all she wanted. Mari smiled softly as she drifted to sleep, more than happy to relax. With him. She woke up early the next morning, though, the most awfully sickly feeling in her stomach... she'd felt not amazing over the last few days anyway, and was able to push through for his birthday, but she hadn't had a moment to just relax that day... and it was just bad now. She subconsciously moved to wrap around him a bit tighter, doing anything to let herself relax.

Sage slept well, and only stirred when he felt Mari curl up tighter into him in the morning. He sort of hummed quietly and snuggled in a bit more, not really thinking much of it. He lay there for a while, just happy to be curled up with her, warm and cozy. He could tell she wasn't quite relaxed though, once he'd woken up a bit more, and he sort of pulled back slightly to get a look at her face before sighing slightly. "You look awful," he noted, reaching a hand up to check for a fever and frowning when he found none. She obviously didn't feel good. "how long has this been going on," he asked, not wanting her to have been hurting and him be oblivious to it.

Mari hummed softly to the boy when she felt him curl in, happy for the gesture. She did manage to get to sleep again, until she felt a hand on her forehead. "I'm fine, hun," she promised and she buried her face into his chest. She felt a bit ill, yes, but it wasn't too bad... she'd certainly felt worse. She shrugged when he asked how long this had been going on, and gave a small smile. "I'm not sure... a few days now," she murmured gently to him. He didn't need to worry... and she certainly didn't need him to be upset just after his birthday, which could have been a big eater day in her opinion. Still, she gave a small smile to the boy before shaking her head. "Please don't worry, I'm sure it'll pass over," she added simply.

Sage frowned slightly but sighed when she said she was alright, and not to worry. "You don't look alright," he grumbled, though that was just because he didn't want her to feel crappy. But if it had been going on for a few days, and she had seemed fine except for a few moments here and there, she was probably alright. "Have you seen the doctor yet," he asked, hoping she'd say yes, but also assuming the answer would be no since she never wanted to get herself checked up. The last part was slightly amusing....mostly because he wasn't sure why she was so stubborn about it...but he did want her to feel better.

Mari frowned and took a small bit back. "Sage, don't worry so much. Promise, if anything is wrong I'll go checked out in a few days. For now it's all good," she promised to him as she went to peck his forehead. She wasn't too worried. The pain had gone away and come back now and then, so it couldn't be too serious. "If I go see the doctor and something is wrong, then I can't work. We just bought a house, and we have a baby and a horse that need supporting," she mused lightly.

Sage sighed slightly and nodded. "alright," he murmured. Then he pouted slightly at her next comment. "Well if it is something that's gonna get worse it would be easier to get it fixed sooner," he pointed out. "If you die then that's less money than if you have to be off work for a week," he noted dramatically. He doubted she'd die, of course, but he sort encompassed sick and hurting in that category. But he nodded when she said if it got bad she'd go get checked out. "promise," he asked, and when she agreed, he hummed lightly and cuddled up again with a slight sigh....though that one was more of a content huff of air.

Mari rolled her eyes but nodded. She hated the idea of going to the doctor... she loved the man, he was great, but it just seemed a bit... odd going to see someone she knew about being ill. It make her feel somehow lesser than them, and she didn't like it one bit. "Only if I have no choice. You have to come me, though," she huffed quietly. "I need the support," she teased the boy as she went to rest her head on his shoulder, kind of curling in a little bit more. She was more than happy to be so close... so comfortable with him.

Sage chuckled lightly at her comment and wrapped his arms around her snuggly again. "If it gets you over there, then fine," he mused lightly, sort of teasing the girl about her decision. "You're so stubborn," he added with a grumble, though it was admittedly a rather fond grumble....they could both be incredibly stubborn when they so chose to, but it was rather adorable when Mari refused to go to the doctor like this. At least, until she was sick or hurting and wouldn't go get help. He did worry a bit about that. But he'd drag her down there eventually. As in soon, if she didn't get better. And you'd better believe he would be keeping a close eye on her the next bit of time.
