Mari fell asleep fairly quickly, as she had been over the last few months... and the next few weeks had been the same. Especially with all of the moving going on. The change had been hard, but good... amazingly good. It was what they had been wanting for so, so long. This amazing little family. Amber was settled down, so the cat spent a lot of time running around the stables and mousing when she wasn't curled up with her... which she'd been doing a lot recently. The animal could probably sense that she was pregnant, and maybe they it was Sages, because she didn't really curl up with her normally. She had been forcing herself out on little walks to keep herself moving, though recently she'd been coming back to a very tired, and sort of grumpy Sage. She thought that maybe the move had been a little bit too much for him to start with, but she wasn't so sure now. When she got back from her wall, as usual, her husband was sat on the the couch asleep. She gave a gentle hum before grabbing him a glass of water and sitting at his side. "Hey babe," she murmured softly as she ran a hand through his hair. "How you feeling?"

Sage stirred slightly when he heard Maris voice and opened his eyes when he felt her hand on his head. He gave her a small smile before closing his eyes and curling up against her a bit more. "just tired," he sort of mumbled, relaxing again once he'd settled against her leg. He noticed a headache that hadn't been there before....and the more he noticed it, the worse it seemed to get. It was rather annoying really...he just wanted to sleep for a bit, and now he was struggling to do so, even with Mari there next to him. Eventually he sighed and opened his eyes again, shifting so his head was resting on her leg so he could look up at her. "How was your walk," he said with a bit of a huff of air from the effort of moving about.

Mari furrowed her brows, but let the boy rest his head on her leg. He did look tired... and his forehead was boiling. He was sweating but the rest of him was icy cold. She looked worried... but she wanted him to be comfortable. "Well then get some rest hun," she told him gently as her hand ran through his hair. "It was alright. It's really hot out," she murmured softly as a hand ran gently up and down his back. "Have come water and get to sleep," she suggested softly to him as she handed him the small glass of water.

Sage hummed tiredly in response to her comment and then nodded in agreement with her second comment. He glanced from her to the water before sighing slightly and reaching for the glass and downing it quickly before curling up again, still using the girls leg as a sort of pillow. His head still really hurt, but now that he was curled up and a bit warmer thanks to her body heat, he started to drift off again rather quickly. Her hand running up and down his back probably helped soothe everything too, though he wasn't putting too much thought into it....he was just glad to sleep. He was a bit nervous...getting sick was normally bad, in his instance, but he had Mari and the doctor nearby, even if they had to travel a bit to get to the castle. Hopefully, he really was just tired.

Mari furrowed her brows ever so slightly at his lack of response, but moved into the couch to curl into him. She just wanted him to be comfortable... and she hoped that he was just a bit tired. He couldn't afford to be sick... and if it was contagious she couldn't afford to be sick either. Not while she was pregnant. She curled up to him, kind of falling asleep for a little while, but soon enough waking up again. She went to make dinner, going some food would perk him up a little bit. He'd eat anything, she knew that, but she did make something she knew he liked a little bit more. She gently tapped his shoulder after a little bit and gave a small smile to him. "Try and eat something hunny," she asked with a a small hum.

Sage hadn't realized how long he'd slept until he opened his eyes to Mari holding out a plate to him....a quick glance at the clock told him he'd slept for a while. So why did he still feel like he hadn't slept at all? He felt worse, in fact, which really wasn't a good sign. The food seemed.... unappealing, to say the least, but he forced himself up with a groan and sort of nibbled at it, attempting to try and eat what he could. It made his stomach seem to roll after only a few bites though, so he sort of just handed the plate back to Mari with a sigh and rather apologetic look. He just couldn't eat...his stomach was already churning and he'd barely touched the meal. He did feel bad about not eating ...she'd out work into it, and he knew it wasn't exactly easy doing work while pregnant. But it was all he could do to shiver and curl back up into a tiny ball on the couch and close his eyes again.

Mari frowned when the boy just ate... nothing. He tried though. She knew he had tried at least. He looked awful, too, but she'd never tell him that. That was fine. He didn't have to eat. She just didn't want him to suffer if anything was wrong. "Babe what's up," she asked quietly. This wasn't sudden. He hadn't been very well the last few days, she knew that, but he hadn't actually told her that. So she couldn't really do anything. "Come on, let's get you to bed before anything gets worse," she then told him as she offered him a hand. She didn't want him to be in pain, or in a rush, so there wasn't that much of an issue there. She helped him to the bed before making sure he was tucked in and comfortable. "I can't help if you don't tell me what's up," she then added gently.

Sage just grunted and shrugged when she asked what was wrong, though he took her hand and let her pull him along to the bedroom, the other hand keeping the blanket tucked around his shoulders as he padded along sleepily. He let her tuck him in, really too tired to argue. "Tired," he mumbled. "And I have a headache too I guess," he mused sleepily. "I'll feel better in the morning," he sort of slurred as he drifted off again. In all honesty, he probably wouldn't be any better in the morning...and they both probably knew that...he just didn't want to admit he was sick. Being sick was rather dangerous for him, and he didnt want to make Mari work any harder...or at all, really. It was just the worst time to get sick. But he couldn't stop it if he was sick, so he just let himself drift off. Not that he could have stayed awake if he'd wanted to. But he was as comfortable as he could get ... Tucked in nicely with Mari there with him. It could be worse, he supposed.

Mari couldn't help the frown on her face as she watched her husband lay there. He really did look awful... he wouldn't be able to work if this continued. That was fine, he needed to look after himself, so she hoped he was alright. She knew he wouldn't feel any better in the morning, not when this whole thing seemed to be getting worse. It was getting worse.... bad, it was really, really bad. She couldn't afford to get sick, but she also refused to stay away from him while he was so ill. She sighed before climbing into bed, kind of moving so that she was in a position where he could cuddle up comfortably. "Go to sleep then," she told him with a gentle smile. "If it'll help you feel better in the morning," she added gently.

Sage hummed in a half asleep manner when Mari lay down next to him, since he was already drifting off and mostly asleep, but it was polite to respond when people spoke to you. He was awake barely long enough to wrap the covers tighter around himself with a shiver and curl into Maris body heat best he could before he passed out. He wasn't sure how long he slept for, but at some point through the night he woke with a searing pain in his chest and stomach. He tried to just push past it and take deep breaths, though that made him start to cough. He held them back as best he could as he slid from the bed, not wanting to wake Mari, and slid into the bathroom before letting himself cough. he wasnt surprised to see the soot in the...stuff he'd coughed up....he wasn't healthy, and the tavern soot he'd breathed in was probably not helping things.
