Mari fell asleep a little time after Sage had. She was tired, she was always tired, but she also had to make sure that Sage was comfortable right now, the same way he always made sure she was comfortable. She soon woke, though, when she felt Sage leave... but tried to ignore it the best she could. She soon was back to sleep until she heard relentless noise of coughing from the en-suite. The girl frowned before forcing herself awake and out of bed, grabbing some slippers and a robe for herself and another robe for Sage. She quietly wandered into the bathroom, only to see him crouched over and coughing up all sorts of... gunk. She quickly grabbed him some water before going to put the robe over his shoulders, then handing him the glass. Hopefully it would give him a movement to breathe, if he could take it.

Sage spat up the stuff into the sink and rinsed it out when he felt Mari come over next to him and sunk into her and the robe when she placed it on his shoulders. He caught his breath as best he could before taking a sip of water and sighing. "I'm alright," he rasped, though it didn't exactly sound very reassuring. "It looks worse than it is," he murmured, already half asleep again as he lay up against his wife. The words started another coughing fit though, and he couldn't help but place a shaky hand on his stomach as he hacked up more gunk, since it had definitely started to hurt because of how hard he was coughing. He spat that all out too, and collapsed back onto Mari with a slight wheeze, eyes already closing again. He was just so tired and felt so awful.

Mari felt her heart drop at the sight of her husband practically coughing his guts up. Oh, she felt awful, and she didn't know what to do to help... maybe he had some sort of cold. People tended to cough like that when they had some kind of illness. She held onto him right when he sank back into her, her brows furrowed and clearly worried. She didn't know what to do... maybe in the morning she could make him go do the doctors. Not right now, but soon... but whatever he was coughing up was black... or was it blood? She couldn't tell. When he insisted he was alright, she felt her brows pinch. "Are you sure," she whispered, but when he started coughing again, she quickly moved to pat his back to try and help him out a little. He soon fell back into her again, though, and she tightened her arms around him to try and keep him comfortable. She ran a finger gently up and down the bridge of his nose and between his brows with a soft sigh. "Want to get back to bed," she asked in a whisper.

He nodded tiredly when she asked if he was sure, and took a moment to breathe before looking up at her tiredly. "It's just soot from the tavern," he rasped, shifting slightly to get a little bit comfortable as she wrapped her arms around him again as he fell against her. He felt his eyes fluttering shut as she ran her finger up and down his nose and then nodded when she mentioned going back to bed. "I'll get something to spit in so we don't have to get up again," he told her, struggling to his feet. He coughed up a little bit more stuff after the activity, and staggered over to the kitchen to grab a bowl before coming over and collapsing back into the bed.

Mari nodded quietly and feebly followed him along to the bedroom. She moved the bucket up onto the side table for him, along with some more water before helping him into bed and tucking the blanket closely around him. She didn't know what else was wrong... was he in pain? He looked tired. Surely coughing so much would make you a little bit sore. She padded to get him some painkillers, and handed them to him with a soft sigh. Even if he wasn't sore, they wouldn't hurt to have. "Take some of these hun," she murmured softly before getting into bed. They might just help him sleep better, at least. She curled up into bed next to him, a soft sigh escaping her as she wrapped an arm tightly around his side.

Sage glanced over at Mari when she came back with painkillers and took them without a fuss. Normally he would have grumbled about the medicine for a bit as he went to get water or this or that, but he was hurting...more so now that he'd practically coughed his guts up, so they were a welcome thing this time. And maybe they'd help keep him asleep too, which would be an added bonus. No doubt he'd have to go see the doctor tomorrow...Mari would probably make him....but as of right then he just wanted to go back to sleep. He was already drifting off by the time she'd started tucking him in, and he was barely awake enough to curl into her when she slid back into bed, and was out soon after.

Mark couldn't help the slight tightness in her chest as the boy barely curled into her... he didn't have the energy to do it... so she just curled it I him tighter. Oh, how she hoped he was alright. She felt a soft sigh escape her after a moment or two, but settled down eventually. A hand ran along his cheek to be of some comfort, but eventually fell back to sleep... she was always sleeping now. In the morning, though, she would take him to the doctors... he needed to be checked out. And, she didn't really want him to get any worse.. he wasn't in good health, not at all, and she wanted him around for as long as she could possibly keep him for. She woke up early the next morning, mostly out of worry, but got Sage ready a breakfast and a glass of water before going to gently wake him. "Sage, babe, can we get you to the doctors today," she asked him quiely as she ran a hand through his hair. "I have breakfast ready for you," she then added gently.

Sage slept rather well the most of the night, thankfully, though he did find himself waking up to a cough here and there. He was exhausted though, so he always fell back asleep right away. It helped that Mari was there...he trusted her, and if something happened he knew she'd do her best to help him out. He opened his eyes with a groan when Mari woke him, though quickly scrunched his face up when the light hurt his eyes and head. He huffed out a slight breath and nodded, though he pouted slightly and grumbled "I don't have time to be sick," in a mostly annoyed tone of voice before attempting to sit up enough to try and eat. He doubted he would eat much, of anything, but he wasn't severely opposed to trying, he supposed. As the night before though, he just couldn't eat anything, so he eventually sighed and set the plate down on the side table. "we may as well get going then, if you're ready," he sighed, coughing as he got up, spitting the stuff out in the bathroom sink as he staggered past, and then wandered out to grab chaos. The horse was quite helpful when it came to hooking him up to the cart...he didn't act up at all. He was completely wiped out by the time he'd crawled into the carriage, though he still took hold of the reins with a sigh.

Mari shook her head to him before sighing. "Yes you do. You have all the time in the world to be sick as long as you get better," she whispered as she watched him eat... it wasn't much, but more than the night before. That was good, she supposed. She placed a hand on his back as he walked out, and kept a close eye on him as he readied Chaos. She would have helped, but didn't really know how. She made sure he was up, and had a blanket in her lap encase he needed it. She felt awful for him... she couldn't even help him with any of this. "Let me get us there, you just... relax," she told him quietly as she placed the blanket on his lap and took the reins in place. They soon arrived at the castle, and Chaos was handed to the guards to look after while they were being seen to. She helped Sage down, and took his hand in one of hers as the other was placed on his back as she helped him io the stairs and to the castle, where they soon enough found the doctor in his ward.

Sage glanced over at Mari when she took the reigns from him but didn't have the energy to argue, so he sort of just let her take the reins. "he knows where he's going," he told her tiredly, sort of just curling up against her side after wrapping himself in the blanket. He sort of just shuffled after Mari slowly, a hitch already forming in his chest by the time they got to the doctors ward, and when the old man saw him he immediately came over and sat him down on a bed before he started poking around and asking questions.
