Cassidy helped Sage out of the store and she followed his directions on where the waterfall and cave were. She didn't complain about the many breaks they took and in fact she would ask most of the time if they should take a break when she saw the pain in his face intensify. She would help him walk if he needed it and she would even offer him a sip here and there of her water when they took breaks to help keep him energized. They eventually came to the waterfall and she stopped at the edge of the bank, her grayish-blue eyes taking in the beautiful surroundings. "Wow..." she said quietly in amazement and a smile twitched at the corners of her lips. It was the most beautiful thing she had seen since the apocalypse and the small wooded area surrounding the waterfall was even more peaceful. This place was perfect and she was glad Sage mentioned this area. |

Sage grinned tiredly, nodding. "it's one of my favorite hiding spots," he wheezed. He was breathing pretty heavily, having insisted on pushing himself the last stretch of the way rather than taking yet another break when they were so close to the cave, and safety. He nodded in the direction on the cave entrance. "You go first, I can swim in but I'll probably need help getting out of the water, there's a ledge you have to climb over to really get in," he admitted softly, hoping she'd be fine with it and not get any bad ideas about him not being able to do simple things. He leaned against a tree heavily, and waited to go for Cass to slip into the water before he let himself practically collapse and scoot into the small pond. |

She nodded and she walked into the water and she made her way under the water fall, cringing when the heavy water fell on top of her head but the clean, crisp water felt good on her body. Cassidy grabbed the ledge and she pushed herself up onto it with a grunt "Come on, slow poke" she called to Sage in a teasing tone. She knew he felt like he was slowing them down but she was understanding and she liked to tease people. Cassidy got down on her knees on the edge of the cave while she waited for Sage to make his way under the waterfall to join her in the cave. Her body and clothes were dripping wet and she was lucky werewolves had an intense amount of body heat otherwise she would be shivering right now. |

Sage forced himself to take a deep breath and hold it, despite the gasps that his body probably needed. He only had to hold his breath for a moment, but it seemed like forever. When he popped his head up, he was relieved to see the girl waiting there to help him up. He was dripping wet, and while the cold felt pretty good on his leg, he was exhausted. He never would have guessed that swimming ten feet or so would make his body shake like this. He was cold, too, though he'd warm up soon enough. Though, normally he'd walk around or exercise to warm up, and he couldn't exactly do that now. He reached a hand out for the girl, and she practically he to drag him up the ledge. He did his best to help, though his body pretty much felt like limp noodles by now. Once he got up into the cave, he lay on the floor panting, on his back. "Well, there's my workout for the day," he joked, letting out a slight chuckle as he said it. |

Cassidy grabbed his arms and she helped hoist him up and into the cave and once he was on solid ground, she let him go and sat down to exhale a small breath. Her chest was heaving up and down from being weak from hunger and pulling up a man's dead weight basically. "Jesus I hope I don't have to do that again" she admitted and she laid back against the Colt cave floor. She laughed along with Sage "Yeah, I think that's my workout for the day too. This is a really good spot to hide and we can have fires in here without worrying about anyone spotting us. That waterfall will keep it covered." She moved her wet hair out of her face and she closed her eyes to relax. |

Sage nodded, panting. "Yeah," he gasped out, laughing slightly at the girl's reaction to hauling him out of the water like a giant baby doll. Eventually, once he had caught his breath, he pushed himself upwards with a grunt, muscles still pretty tired, until he was in a sitting position. "A fire would be a good idea since we're wet and it'll get a bit chilly at night." Besides, he was getting cold now ..the water was ice melt, or at least it felt like it. He had no idea how the girl wasn't shivering, but he was skinny and cold. Then again, he was always one to get super cold super easy, so maybe it wasn't as cold as it seemed. |

"I can get a fire going. I just have to gather some wood and dry grass so I'll do that nlw while I still have some energy" she stood up and patted the top of his head "I'll be back." Cassidy walked to the edge of the cave and she climbed down and back into the chilly water. She swam back to the bank and climbed out of the water, grabbing a handful of her hair to ring out the water. Cassidy walked to the wooded area to start gathering up large sticks that would help for making a fire. After she grabbed an armful of thick sticks, she made her way back to the water and under the water fall to toss the sticks up. Cassidy climbed up and she grunted "Alright, I got some sticks but they have to dry now." |

Sage grunted and nodded. It would be good to have plenty of firewood handy, and they'd have to bring in enough to dry so they had some the next day. "There's a few logs I kept in the back of the cave that should be dry by now." He dragged himself to his feet and after a few minutes of struggles managed to get a couple decent sized logs over to the mouth of the cave. "The water splashes in sometimes so don't put it right at the entrance," he told Cass, warning her in advance. "Keep it about here," he instructed, marking an x in the sand before sitting down hard and trying to catch his breath again. |

She nodded towards Sage and she set up the logs right where he told her to and she grabbed her matches from her bag to start a fire. Within a few attempts, she got a small fire going that lit up some of the cave. "It will take some time before it gets bigger but it's something at least" she admitted. Cassidy tucked some of her damp hair behind one ear and she adjusted the logs some to make sure the fire could breathe otherwise it would die out. She could catch them a fish easily in her wolf form and she figured Sage wouldn't move out of the cave to see what she was doing. It was a risk but a risk she was willing to take to have a good meal. |

Sage nodded and shrugged. Something was better than nothing he supposed. He scooted closer to the small fire, since he was getting colder every minute he was wet. Cass went to do... something, though he didn't know what. Maybe get more wood, or try to find something to eat. He didn't know, and by then he was pretty much too tired to care what she was doing. He curled up by the fire, closing his eyes. He could rest for a bit while she went and did her own thing. There was nothing wrong with that. Besides, he was exhausted, the trip had taken a lot out of him. He wasn't sure he could stay awake , even if he wanted to. |
