Mari groaned after a moment or two before forcing herself to sit up. "Come on. I'll get changed then we can head out," she sighed as she started to get up again, though once again there was a sharp pain in her abdomen... she drew in a breath through her teeth before looking down at the floor for a moment or two as it slowly ebbed away. She wasn't sure what it was... it wasn't consistent, so it couldn't be that bad, surely. It was likely to just be one of those things that happened every now and then, she supposed. After a it was gone, the girl quickly swapped into some more presentable clothing, her brows pinching together as she relaxed against the bed.

Sage grunted when she made a move to get up, and half reached over to her when she made a bit of a face. By the time he'd crossed the bed, though, she was already moving again. He sighed, hoping that if something was wrong they'd figure it out and it would all be alright. He got ready too, though, keeping an eye on her as he changed. He patted her lightly on the back once she sat down. "You sit for a minute while I go get the wagon ready," he hummed before wandering away and put to the barn to get chaos.

Mari looked up at him with a small nod when the boy said that he'd get everything ready. She was a bit worried, but in all fairness if it was that bad then she wouldn't be able to move, so it couldn't be that awful. It went away as soon as she took a few deep breaths, which was good... man, she only had about a month and a bit left until it was all over, and she couldn't be more thrilled. After about five minutes, she slowly moved to stand up, and again there was a bit of pain but wasn't as bad, nor as long. So, she continued on down the stairs, slowly, though, ready to follow Sage out to the wagon.

Sage wandered down to grab chaos, though the stallion was in more of a playful mood than a working mood, and led him on a slight chase through the paddock. He was tired by the time he caught him, but grinning happily. He'd played along, and it had been fun...though, Mari was probably waiting. It hadn't been long...maybe five minutes...but still, he had to tack him up and everything still. He did the quickly, then hooked him up to the wagon quickly before helping Mari in and heading off.

Mari gave a bit of a smile when the boy reapeared, and moved to accept his help into the wagon. She rested her head back, and soon enough they were on the way... but in all fairness, it wasn't actually that far of a ride. Soon enough, they arrived at a small yard... it was a bit run down, and needed doing up, and the old man walking around look so, so grumpy... but oh well. They'd live, she was sure. "Is this the place?" She asked with furrowed brows... the fields were basically mud, and it just looks sad. It just seemed a bit odd.

Sage was more than happy to wander over and help Mari get settled before driving off. It was a short drive but nice all the same. He hummed slightly and nodded in response to her question, eyeing the old man. He hopped down and went to introduce himself and Mari, and the old man sort of grunted and pointed them in the direction of the barn. Sage went to get Mari out of the wagon and tie chaos up in the shade before going towards the barn. The man met them partway there with a slim grey mare on the end of a lead rope. She wasn't as tall as chaos, and didn't have as fair of a body type, but she was still definitely good looking. He wandered over to greet the animal, letting her sniff him before starting to examine her. She was thinner than he'd like, but that would be fixed with better food. She was young too, just looked older because she was so small. That was all fixable though, and she really was a sweetheart. Not too expensive either.

Mari just kind of followed along, looking at the little mare curiously before going to sit in the corner. She didn't care what he thought... well, he did, but she didn't really care much about the horse on all truth. It was something Sage liked, though, so she could be supportive. "What are you thinking?" She asked with a small chuckle. "Or are you wanting to chat about it over lunch?" She asked with a cocked head. She had to admit, despite the lack of top line and the fact she was slightly under weight, the animal was rather pretty. Slightly stockier than Chaos... which was nice, it'd make for a nice horse, she was sure.

Sage stood up and patted the horse with a thoughtful hum, before glancing over at the old man again. "How's she under saddle," he asked, and when the man shrugged he figured he'd gotten his answer. He'd probably buck him off too, if he were a horse. But that was fine...he wasn't opposed to retraining her. "We can talk over lunch," he finally decided. "I'll stop by in the next day or two with an answer for ya," he told the old man, shaking his hand and then wandering over to help Mari back into the carriage and untying chaos, who had been watching the mare with obvious interest. "Where shall we go for lunch," he hummed lightly to Mari.

Mari nodded in agreement to him, a bit of a smile over crossing her face as she watched him shake the old man's hand. She hooked her arms around his when he helped her get up. "Look at you, all businessy," she chuckled lightly to him as she pecked his cheek, soon enough getting into the cart. She didn't mind where they are... just anywhere simple. She was curious as to what Sage thought, though... the mare was to be a brood mare, and she didn't want Sage risking hurting himself trying to back a horse that wouldn't be ridden in the long run. (Do you want to do a bit of a time skip after this? We need to make some drama up lol. Any ideas?) Edited at July 24, 2023 03:51 PM by Belle

Sage chuckled lightly and grinned over at her happily. "Hey, I can act responsible when I want to," he chuckled. Then he shrugged and headed the cart towards town. "She was a nice mare....only around seven or so, just underweight, but we can fix that up," he mused, figuring Mari would want his thoughts. "And she's stockier than chaos, so we'd have a good middle ground in foals," he added happily. "I'll look at the other two and we'll see which ones are the best deals," he hummed. (That's fine lol. We could maybe have her have the baby and still be sore and all the rest and something happen to sage? Maybe the slave traders snag him and Silas or something? And her and her mom or Anthony have to help her get them back? Thinking evil here lol)
