The woman cocked her head at him before her face grew a small smile. "Oh, that's right - I take it you had this baby, then?" She asked happily. "Everything go okay? What's it like?" Anya added on with a bit of a hum. She did hope everything went well for him. She knew the last time had been hard for not just the maid, but for Sage, too. She could just hope nothing went too rocky for him this time.

Sage hummed lightly and his face light up when she mentioned the baby. He nodded happily and gave her a grin. "It all went fine...Maris a bit sore, but she's healthy. And so is the baby," he informed Anya happily. "It's a girl...we named her Lizzie," he added on as an afterthought. Anya knew how much his sister had ment to him ...so she'd understand their decision. (Short, I'm heading out) Edited at August 7, 2023 12:31 PM by NightClan

(No worries, mine is short too :)) Anya smiled gently to the boy after a moment or two and hummed lightly. "Good. And yeah, she would feel a bit sore, I'm sure you would too," she chuckled lightly to him. It was nice to see him so happy about his family. She knew how much they would mean to him... they really were his world. She knew he didn't think he'd ever have kids, either. A family. But he did... and it must have seemed like a miracle. She couldn't help her small chuckle when he said the child was called Lizzie... that child really had meant the world to him. "That's beautiful, Sage," she babbled happily to him. "I'm sure you're both thrilled," she added on lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly at Anyas comment and then snorted in amusement with a slight nod. "We had that conversation," he mused lightly. "And we both agreed I would be a terrible pregnant lady," he laughed, shaking his head happily. "But I'm not exactly built to pop out a baby either. If I tried I think it would get stuck coming out and we'd both die." Then he wrinkled his nose. "The end was a bit dark," he grunted. "Whoops." Then he brightened again. "She's great," he chirped happily.

Anya couldn't help but give a small chuckle, then shook her head lightly. "I concur. You would be awful," she finished happily. If she didn't know him any better, she would have been a bit concerned as to why he decided to be so dark... but that was just Sage really. You couldn't read too much into things like that with him. "Yeah, that's not what you need, really," she finished with a small chuckle. She then nodded once more. "Well, I'm glad. You should be getting back to your baby, though," she mused lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly at the girl's comments and nodded happily. It was always nice to be able to pop in and see her and Att...they were still sort of like family, both of them. He did regret not taking Att with him all those years ago, a little bit, but the boy would have died if he had....so he didn't regret it all. He did wish he could have cared for the boy and raised him up though...but he'd had a better life here it seemed like. He nodded at Anya's comment and stood with a grunt. "Yeah...I'm sure we'll be back sometime soon," he chirped, giving Att a big hug. "Keep practicing with that sword, kiddo, and soon enough you'll be the best knight there was," he hummed happily. He turned to give Anya and hug too, a his normal brotherly peck on the cheek. It wasn't a romantic gesture...not at all, it never had been. But he did love her like a sister by now, and he normally pecked the cheek as a goodbye.

Anya smiled at his good bye and waved him off, her eyes bright as she watched her old friend leave. She liked it when he came to say hi... mainly because she loved the look on Att's face when he did. The child didn't have a dad, and if he did have someone he would consider a father, it was likely to be Luther... and he was dead. And he'd stay that way. It did sadden her, the boy really had been her best friend... but she couldn't fixate on it. All she could think was how wonderful Sage was for coming to at least say bye. "See you," she chirped happily.

Sage grinned and waved bye at them before asking someone to hitch up chaos and have the carriage ready for them soon. The guard, who had worked with sage quite a bit, seemed more than happy to move from the position he was standing stock still, guarding.... something. Who could blame him? There was a reason he hadn't become a guard after all. It seemed boring. Soon enough though, he hopped back into his and Maris room, greeting her and the now awake baby. "We can leave after lunch. The carriage is getting set up now," he. Chirped lightly.

Mari smiled over at her husband, the baby in her arms gently rocking back and fourth as she drifted off to sleep. "Shh," she chucked softly before shaking her head. "I've just gotten her to settle," she added, a light smile still across her face. She patted the space next to her for him to come and sit, a her face kind of frozen with a gentle, motherly expression across it. "That's fine. Are you going to get the food or is the doctor bringing it around?" Thankfully, the old cook had been... asked to leave after one particularly bad pork roast. So the food was a little bit better here than before. She just wanted to go home, though.

Sage winced slightly and gave Mari a sheepish grin, trying not to feel too guilty about being loud. "Sorry," he whispered, scuttling over when she patted the bed. He always got like this when she admonished him, out of habit...going back to the sort of hunched look he used while in the tavern. But it wasn't like it was than...much less noticable, and he didn't feel like she was going to hit him or anything. It was just something that would never completely go away, he supposed. And they'd grown used to it. "the doctor will bring it in a few minutes," he told her quietly. "We can eat lunch then head out," he chirped happily.
