Mari looked down at the man, her heart thumping while she waited for a response... but it only confirmed that the figure was her husband, she felt his hands carefully touch her hair, and she was just so, so worried... he didn't know where Silas was? Her baby? He wasn't with him... and oh, she didn't trust these people one bit. What if they were hurting him? "Sage hun, just take some deep breaths. Don't strain yourself, we'll get you out, and find Silas," she promised him before looking back at Anthony. She just wanted to get to her family... to hold them close so that nothing could hurt them. To never let them out of her sight again. But, before they'd done that, they would actually be in her sight. She had Anthony help her with the bars, quietly getting them off before having him help her into the cell that Sage was in... she could get him out, at very least, right?

Sage sort of just nodded in response to her comment, trying to take a deep breath and calm down. He wasn't sure it worked very well, though, especially once Mari got into the cell. He sort of just collapsed onto her with a ragged breath/sigh sort of noise, just glad she was there. Now he could think....not perfectly, but at least he knew she was alright. And she could help him find their baby. "I tried so hard," he whispered, voice breaking. "But I couldn't see...and there were too many of them for me to hold on to him," he whispered, shaking his head slightly, trying not to break down. He had to be strong....he had to find his boy. "I could hear him screaming for a while...but I haven't heard him for a while," he admitted. "I don't know....," He trailed off at that. He just didn't know. Hopefully Mari could think better than his muddled self.

Mari fell back a few steps when Sage fell into her, kind of clutching onto him as she fell onto her knees. Oh, she felt awful... she hated seeing him like this. She promised that she would protect him, and their son, but she hadn't done that... she kind of felt like she was betraying him, to some extent. She nodded gently, her hands clutching onto his shirt as he held onto her. "Hey, hey, it's okay... just relax. We're gonna find him, okay? And he's gonna be all fine," she told him gently. It may not be true... but she had to convince herself of it, at least. Anthony was peering through the window, looking fairly concerned for them... he loved this kid more than anything, and no one seemed to know where he was. Mari, though, had to work on getting his chains off... and hopefully get out of this dammed cell.

Sage let the girl pull them onto the ground, though that meant the hand still in the chain was torn away from her, which he didn't exactly like...but at least he could still hold her with one hand. It hurt like hell...everything hurt like hell...but the broken hand was clutching her as best he could hold on to her. He sort of just nodded in response to her comments, his face still buried in her shoulder. Eventually though, he took a deep breath and sat back. "Now get me out of here so I can find my child without breaking my other hand," he half grumbled

Mari rested her head ontop of Sages, trying to be of some comfort, but in truth, she just wanted to find her baby... She could get Sage out of here now, then search for her baby. The poor boy must have been terrified. If he wa still even here.... god, she hoped he was. "What?" She asked after a moment,,, it was dark, so she couldn't see anything... the only light they had was from the window, which was pretty tiny. And the light didn't reach that spot amazingly. She grabbed a hairpin to start undoing the lock on the chains, then ran her hand down from his shoulders to his hand, where she took a gentle hold of his fingers. "You broke something?" She asked worriedly before shaking her head and standing up... he might have beeen hurting, and in pain, but she was so focused on finding her baby boy... he may have been in worse shape. "Where did you hear the crying from?" She asked with a small sigh. "We'll get you out of here, and try and find him," she noted as she called for Anthony, and an arm soon appeared for one of them to grab onto... preferably Sage first.

Sage sort of grunted in the affirmative in response to her question, a sharp intake of breath forced when he felt his hand. Something was definitely broken... probably multiple things. But it had sort of just gone numb, and he could deal with pain...and they needed to find Charlie. "North of here, I think," he said after a moment, then shrugged as he watched her try to pick the lock. He sort of crumpled over with a wince when the lock released, but soon enough staggered to his feet and wandered over to the window. "You first," he told her, casting a worried look over his shoulder. (If I have him go blind in one eye it might be interesting. They'd have to learn how to adapt to it lol) Edited at August 15, 2023 03:53 PM by NightClan

(Ooh, yeah, absolutely!!) Mari nodded quietly... if he'd gone north, then that'd would too. They'd find this boy if it killed them. He'd be safe, and he'd never be out of her sight... and neither would Sage. She rested her hand on his head when he crumpled over, but shook her head. "Im sure that it'd be better if you...." she trailed off, deciding now wasn't the time to play you first. She sighed and moved to gently take her brothers hand, kind of climbing ip the wall until he could hoist her up... she quickly turned to offer Sage another hand... he needed to her out of here, before someone noticed what was going on.

Sage sort of chuckled when she gave up arguing about who'd go first, but helped her up as best he could...though his wrists were a mess, as was his back and one hand was of course, broken. But he eventually reached for the two of them, and let them haul him out of the window. He almost fell over once he reached the ground, and reached blindly for Maris shoulder as he steadied himself and let his eyes adjust. "Norths that way," he said to Mari, pointing in the direction of a small sort trail that had been worn by a frequent wagon path. He hoped he was going in the right direction...he wanted to find his baby boy. And he wanted him to be alive and healthy. And he wanted it soon. He wasn't sure how long he'd last, and he wasn't going to stop until Silas was found.

Mari held onto him as he steadied himself, getting ready to fuss over him, but soon enough deciding that she was actually really focused on her little boy. She glanced at his hand for a moment, and quickly slipped the overcoat she'd had on off and moving it to wrap around his shoulder, then moving to gently place his hand in the pouch it had formed. "Let go then," she followed behind him along the worn path... they hadn't really drawn any attention to themselves, so hopefully they could do this quick... ish. They soon came across a fairly big building... it actually looked more like a Manor House than anything.

Sage had to admit he was rather distracted, and fidgeted while Mari moved to wrap his hand up in the pouch she'd made. It was probably a good thing, since he wasn't aware of very much besides the fact that his baby boy was missing...but he should probably have tried to at least hold the hand steady or splint it a while ago. He nodded when she said to go, and walked next to her, wanting to move ahead and find his boy but also aware that there was a good possibility of his collapsing and he didn't exactly want to like...fall off a cliff or anything. He squinted up at the large building they came across and grunted. "He'll probably be here," he grumbled.
