Mari set the food on his side before sighing. "He's all good. He woke up sore one but soon settled down. Gonna have him cleaned up properly today... have him bathed and what nots," she added lightly to him. "Wake up a bit before you eat. I don't want you choking now," she told him after a few moments. "And take some meds, and rest," she told him quietly before moving to peck his forehead.

Sage sort of yawned and nodded in response to her comment about Silas. "Good," he hummed. Then he chuckled. "I'm afraid I won't be much help," he joked lightly, cocking his head to try and see what food was on the platter. He hummed lightly and nodded in response to her comments, alibet a bit absentmindedly. He hadn't eaten in days, so he was definitely really quite hungry. He just had to figure out what was on the plate.

Mari smiled lightly in response to him before shaking her head. "No, no, I don't expect you to help," she mused lightly. "I'll have him come see you when he's more comfortable, too," she offed happily. She saw him kind of eyeing his food, so moved it a little to the side. "You have some bacon and egg there. And a small fruit bowl, along with with strawberry milkshake - and I made that myself so you had best eat it. Beating those strawberries took me forever," she chuckled lightly. She moved to sit next to him after a little bit, kind of wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on the headboard.

He chuckled lightly and nodded, humming "I know," in response to her first comment. He knew she didn't expect him to get up and help with anything for a while.. but he did wish he could do something other than lay here. And if he was being honest...he wasn't so sure he could draw or paint very well right then either, with a broken hand and equally disabled vision. He was but scared to even try. Because if he was bad ....what then? He'd have nothing. And that was definitely scary. He hummed lightly and nodded when she told him what was on the tray, going right for the fruit happily, mumbling a sort of thanks between bites. It was all gone rather quickly, and he moved to set it on the side table, before freezing when he realized he couldn't see that side of the bed....so he had no idea where it was at. After a moment he let out a frustrated breath that sort of ended in defeat. He handed the tray to Mari, hoping she'd just take it without asking why and making him say he couldn't find the table there. He was glad she was there though....he really was.

Mari kind of smiled over at him when he gave a thankful murmur. She hadn't eaten yet, as she just wanted to get her boys sorted, but she was absolutely glad they were liking it. She went to brush his hair through with her fingers when she had a tray rather grumpily shoved at her, but took it anyway and gave a bit of a hum as she placed it down. She moved to take a gentle hold of the arm in the sling... she didn't move it, sort of just had her hand around it. "Things will be easier once this is fixed, I'm sure," she told him softly before pressing a few friendly kisses to his cheek. "Would you like a book or something? Maybe something to draw or other?" She asked quietly as she drew back again.

Sage knew she was trying to be helpful.... And he did appreciate it, but he wasn't so sure life would ever work there same way again. He sighed though, and leaned into her tiredly. "I hope so," he hummed. Then he groaned when she asked if he wanted something to do. "I could barely read before, so I doubt I'll be able to get through much now, and my dominant hand is broken, so drawing won't go very well," he grumbled. "Why don't.... Once you get ready, could you come read something to me," he asked quietly after a moment. "Bring Silas....I want to see him."

Mari couldn't help but be disheartened by her husbands unwillingness to at least try something. She knew him as someone who would give everything his all, even if it was just trying to scribble on a page, but he didn't even want to think about that. But, she supposed, she'd never know how he was feeling. When he leaned into her, she pecked the side of her head before nodding. "Alright," she whispered softly to him. "I'll be back soon," she told him before slipping away to go and get Silas bathed and into some clean clothes and bandages.

Sage nodded when she said she'd be back, and he sort of just nestled down and tried to relax for a while while he waited for her to come back. He sort of drifted in and out of that half asleep stage for a while, thanks to the pain meds that still definitely made him sleepy and honestly a little big groggy and gross. But he'd be worse without it, he figure, so whatever. Soon enough, though, he heard her come back in, and when Silas immediately ran over to crawl up into his lap and cuddle up, it brought a smile to his face as he wrapped his arms around the boy, humming a light greeting to him.

Mari wandered back in behind her son, trying a faint smile at the two of them, but really just struggling. She felt awful... she was trying to be upbeat for the two of them, but it was hard when she felt nothing but guilt towards both her son and husband... she was meant to have protected them. She hadn't done that, and she felt gross for it. And Sage was so down... of course he was. He'd lost sight in one eye, who wouldn't that put down? It was still hard to see, though.

Sage got Silas settled with him in his lap, in a spot that was comfortable for both of them. He opened an arm for Amro to slide in too, once they were settled, wrapping his arms around Silas and curling up against her. He wished he knew what she was thinking....wished she wasn't so down. He could tell by her voice, she felt bad...but he wasn't sure how to comfort her. He wasn't sure how to comfort himself. So for now, he just curled up happily with his family, though he did miss Lizzie. Maybe her mom could stop by and bring her for a visit or something
