Sage had hoped to at least help with dinner a little bit, but it was all he could do to feel his way over to the couch and collapse on it. He closed his eyes and just lay there while Mari did...whatever she needed to do. But he was completely wiped out. He opened his eyes to look over at her when she sat next to him and then nodded at her suggestion. "I do want to go down there," he hummed. "I'm just not too sure I'd make it on my own," he admitted sheepishly. "if you help me down, I can stay there for a bit until dinners ready," he said lightly.

Mari smiled gently to the boy before giving a small nod and pecked his lips lightly. "I can walk you down no issues," she chirped, and gently took his hand to help him up... she just wanted him to be happy and comfortable. If sitting with the horses for ten minutes while she made food made him happy, then so be it. She helped him down to the yard, and helped him sit in his spot by the tree in Chaos's field. She pecked his cheek before wandering off to sort the food out again... she'd be back just before it was ready to help him back in.

Sage smiled happily and kissed her back, letting her haul him to his feet and wander down to the field chaos was settled in. The stallion came over immediately, meeting them at the gate with an excited nicker, pacing back and forth. He seemed to sense that something was off though, because he stayed well within his vision range at all times. He sat down under the tree happily, and soon enough chaos had laid down with him. And, admittedly, he passed out using the horse as a sort of pillow. They ended up curled up together, resting. Chaos stayed still for once as he grazed too, which he had to admit was rather nice.

Mari padded back inside, and made sure to heat their plates up until food was ready. She looked out the kitchen window, where a few lights along the track through the paddocks lit the area... she could see Sage and his horse, curled up next to one anther. She felt her heart melt at the sight... oh, the sight was so perfect. She knew he was struggling right now, but the horse seemed to make everything so much better. She hated having to disrupt him... but he was bound to want some food at some point. She wandered down the porch steps and gave out a soft breath. "Sage, hun, dinners ready," she chirped, before realised she needed to actually go over and help him out. She kind of jogged over and said a hello to Chaos before crouching down infront of Sage with a hand infront of her to help him out a little.

Sage had shifted slightly when he heard Maris voice come from somewhere in the distance, and he sort of raised his head to blink groggily and look around. Chaos turned to glance at him when he half sat up, then went back to grazing. Sage sort of looked around for a moment as he woke up a bit more, and then reached out to take Maris hand when she appeared in front of him. He reached over to pat chaos goodbye and then let Mari tow him back to the house. He wasn't incredibly hungry, but if he wanted to heal he did need to at least try to eat. He felt better just being home, though, anyway....and it definitely showed, even if he was exhausted.

Mari helped him in before having him sit down on the couch. She brought the small bowl of pasta over to him with soft smile across her face. "Here you go," she sang happily. She moved to peck his cheek with a hum as she sat down next to him... she was so happy to be home. She was so, so happy to be in her own house, that was hers rather than some old hospital. She was tired, though. It was just nice to be back. "You don't have to eat it all," she told him gently. "Not if you don't want to," she murmured softly.

Sage was more than happy to be able to eat while curled up on the couch. It was a rather pleasant surprise.... The table chairs hurt his back, and he supposed he'd just assumed that's what they'd be sitting. He gave Mari a thankful smile when she gave him the pasta, and then nodded in response to her comment. He managed to eat around half of what was in the bowl before sighing and seeing it down, leaning into her tiredly. Really, he should get to the bed, and probably shower too, but he just didn't have the energy.

Mari smiled softly to him, and gently went to take his plate when he'd finished what he could. She wandered back down next to him and gave a happy little smile. "We can head off to bed if you're tired," she told him lightly. She didn't want him to be too exhausted... it'd been a long day. She really was just happy that they were back, she supposed. "Let me wash everything up then I can help you," she told him before going to sort all the things she'd used to clean up out.

Sage hummed lightly and nodded, then waved her off when she said she would help him. "Don't rush, I'll manage," he sighed, moving to get up with a grunt. "I'll have to be able to walk in my own house without falling over a table at some point," he pointed out, sort of feeling for the wall as he stood there. Amber sort of hopped over as he started walking, pressing herself up to his leg and guiding him around... something. She kept at it until he was in the bed, and then she just curled up with him, and he passed out pretty much right away.

Mari looked over at him with a bit of a frown, kind of watching the boy walk to the stairs, making sure he was alright before farting back to cleaning up... she unpacked their kids things too, and started putting a few random bits and bobs away and ready to be washed the next day. So, she didn't really get to bed until twelve that evening. She carefully made her way up to bed, a kind of smile across her face when she saw him all settled. She got changed and quietly got into bed, kind of looking over his features before sighing and turning over to face the wall as she started to drift off.
