Mari smiled quietly to him, kind of moving her head to the side so that her ear was pressed against his chest, listening to the steady sound of his heartbeat... it was a comfort more than anything. "You haven't been yourself over the last few weeks... it's no one's fault," she murmured gently. "The medicine hasn't been making you feel amazing." She added quiely. After another half hour, she forced herself to peel away from him, kind of giving a hum as she pecked his lips. "I'll go get the kids ready. You decide what we're gonna do today," she told him softly before climbing out of bed and getting changed before wandering down towards the kids rooms, getting a breakfast and some lunch ready for them.

Sage hummed slightly and nodded with a sigh. "I know," he mused. "And I can't not take it...I tried and it didn't last very long," he admitted with a sheepish chuckle. He stayed quiet after that for a while, just happy to lay there in the silence, curled up with Mari. He hummed happily at her kiss and then nodded at her comments, eventually forcing himself up to throw a shirt on and get ready. Well, as ready as he really got. Soon enough though, he'd wandered down the stairs and grabbed a small apple to nibble at for breakfast while he waited for Anthony or Edith (whoever was watching the kids) to stop by. He'd helped mari throw some snacks together and everything, and he'd brought a blanket down with him too for them to sit on. It would be good, he thought, to take a bit of time for Mari to relax.

Anthony came along to help out with the horses in the morning, and by then Mari had already come to him a little flustered asking if he could take the kids for the day... even if he took them to their mother. He thought that was fine... the girl just seemed so stressed, and he knew she'd been working hard... plus, he did like them. It would be nice to spent some time with them. He agreed quickly and shoed her off to enjoy the time she had today... she deserved it. They both did. Mari padded back into the house to Sage, where she found him in the kitchen sorting the rest out... she got the kids ready and took them out to Anthony once he was done, then back into the house once she saw him off. She padded into the house, kind of wrapping her arms around Sage in a tight hug once everything had settled down. "All sorted," she breathed gently.

Sage had sort of waved at Anthony as he'd walked past, then gone to sort of finish up the work he'd have to have done by the time they'd have to leave. He hummed happily when Mari moved to wrap her arms around him after a bit, and he tilted his head back, sort of feeling for her cheek with his nose before pressing a kiss to her cheek happily. "Let's go then," he chirped, reaching over to grab the basket with his good hand and reaching out to loop his arm on his blind side around Mari's arm so he could walk without tripping over something and rebreaking himself. Amber was snoozing on the couch, and he let the cat stay asleep, since he had Mari to guide him around. Though, it did feel odd to not have the cat pressing against his calf. But he trusted Mari, and once they'd managed to get him down the stairs of the porch and everything, he had to admit he felt pretty good about how the day was going.

Mari smiled at the small kiss, and happily moved to loop her arm with Sages when he offered it... she was still a little... fragile if that was the way she wanted to put it. She followed him along quiely, not overly sure what he had planned... but even if they were to go and sit it silance it would be nice. She kind of moved to rest her head against his shoulder as they walked, a heavy breath escaping her. "Where are we going?" She asked eventually, kind of looking up at her husband softly. Her eyes were still red, from kind of weeping in and off that morning, but she'd let it all out soon enough. It would be nice just to have a relaxed day, she thought. Just the two of them for the first time in what was nearly four years. Had it been that long? They'd had Silas, then their honey moon... and Liz had come a little while after... so yeah, three or four years now. She knew Sage wasn't too confident without little Amber at his side... but she hoped that for today, at least, she'd be enough for him until they'd get to wherever they were going.

Sage hummed lightly and chuckled at her comment before grinning over at her. "There's a little stream down past the barn and a bit into the woods," he explained. "You've got the stream, the trees, flowers, the whole deal," he chirped happily. "If that's not relaxing enough I don't know what is," he added on in a slightly amused manner of tease. He was excited though, to be able to do this...it had been quite a while since they'd been able to just....go do something together and relax the two of them. It would definitely be nice. And they both needed some time tor elax, he thought, so it was definitely time for a mini little vacation sort of thing, and have the day off to spend together. He loved the kids, of course, but he loved Mari too....so it was nice to spend some quality time together.

Mari smiled lightly to him, glad he had somewhere nice in mind... somewhere that no one else would be. The lake was nice, but there were often lots of little children there... it want exactly peaceful. She followed him along, until they got to the place he was talking about. She smiled quietly... it was nice. Pretty, and rather sheltered. She looked over at Sage and gave a light smile. "This is cute!" She hummed as she helped to set out the blanket and flopped down on it happily. Sage joined her, and they ate in a comfortable silance before she finally fell back on the blanket. She kind of propped her head up on her hand, smiling happily to Sage. She was lucky to have him... he'd been through so much... it was an oddity that he'd put up with her... issues, when they obviously weren't as big as his.

Sage hummed happily when she seemed to like the little clearing, and busied himself in attempting to help her spread the blanket out. Though, he really wasn't helping...he was really only making things worse since he couldn't see a lot of what he was doing, so after a moment he sort of just let Mari do it and then flopped down next to her once it was all ready. Lunch was good too, and it was a comfortable silence that they both enjoyed. Mari was on his blind side for now ....he wanted to see her but he just felt safer with her there. So for now he sort of just looked around at all the birds and the water flowing around them, just content to be back out in nature. That was how he'd grown up, after all ...outside. It wasn't a particularly pleasant childhood, but he did love the outdoors, and he was sick of sitting around inside.

Mari sort of just sat there for a little while... kind of just staring. It wa a bit stage, maybe. He was her husband, she knew him inside and out, and yet all she could to was stare. He couldn't see her right then, but the light in her eyes was still the light she had when she first met him... they were older now, and it seemed that things were slowing down... they weren't old, persay, but the change was very much still there. It scared her a little... but it gave her comfort kninf it was sage ar her side, and hopefully, it always would be. After a little while, she moved to press a soft kiss to the base of his neck and flopped down on the blanket, kind of just staring up at the sky... taking in the warm breeze that washed over her.

Sage was happy to just sit there in silence, though he chuckled lightly when he felt Mari move up to him and press her lips against him. He moved to roll over slightly so he was laying down but propping himself up enough to press a lingering kiss to her lips before flopping down the rest of the way and nestling up next to her. Hed missed everything with her...and while he knew she didn't want to get pregnant again, he supposed he could hope they could still be intimate here and there. They still had planty of years left, hopefully, and he wanted to make the most of it. They didn't need intimacy to do that, of course, but now while they were out just enjoying time the two of them....it could happen
