Mari smiled at his reaction before gently running her fingers through his hair. He seemed so sleepy... it was nice, because he was comfortable enough to rest with her like this, but a little saddening that he still struggled so much. She looked over at the toast, which was, by now, getting cold. She just sort of hummed quietly to herself... if he was hungry later she could make him some more... but for now, she was happy to let him rest. As odd as it was, she sort of loved watching him sleep. He just seemed so... calm, and she had to say that she quite enjoyed it.

Sage was more than happy to just rest with his head in her lap and let her play with his hair. He'd sort of drifted off into a light sleep, which was definitely nice. Eventually though, he figured he should get up, so when he woke up again he blinked up at Mari sleepily. "Hey," he hummed, voice sort of cracking through the murmur, before yawning and sort of curling into her and the blankets a bit more, since it was sort of cold.

Mari smiled down at him when he woke up, giving a small him. "Hey," she whispered to him, still sort of playing with his hair. She pulled the blankets up so that they were around his shoulders. "How you feeling," she murmured softly to him, sort of rubbing his shoulder with her spare hand... she was just looking for things to do. She liked mornings like this... soft ones, quiet ones.

Sage hummed lightly in response to her comment and shrugged slightly. "Still sleepy," he chuckled slightly, sort of still just waking up, and not at all awake enough to move much. "But I'm alright," he mused with a yawn. "We'll see how sore I am once I get up," he added with amusement. Really, he hadn't had any sort of heavy exercise in a while ...so hed probably be a bit achy when he tried to move later. But that was alright....it was totally worth it. He tested his head against her leg happily, letting her sort of just play with his hair and rub his shoulder, since it felt nice anyway. It was still so peaceful....and he was definitely enjoying it all.

Mari hummed softly to the boy before smiling to him. "Yeah, but you're always sleepy," she murmured quietly to the boy. She gently moved his hair from his face and gave a small smile. "I'm gonna cut your hair at some point," she teased gently before running her hand in his hair down to his cheek. "I like seeing your face." She added to him quiely. She hummed a breath to him after a moment, her hand still gently running over his shoulders. "I bet you'll sore. You were so exhausted you could barely stay awake for me last night," she murmured softly to him. "I made you breakfast, but when I woke you up you just grinned and fell back asleep," she murmured, a bit of a laugh escaping her. "It'll be cold now," she hummed lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly at her comment and shrugged. He couldn't exactly argue with her there....the meds made him sleepy all the time. He hummed lightly and nodded when she said she'd cut his hair, and he couldn't help the happy blush that formed on his face when she said she liked seeing it. He groaned in agreement with her next comment though, and chuckled slightly. "I'm delaying it as long as possible by staying curled up like this," he mused lightly, yawning again. A sheepish grin took over his features at her other comment and he shrugged. "I was tired," he yelped in a rather amused manner

Mari cocked her head at him before shrugging. "Well I have your meds ready for whenever you need them. Just ask and I'll get them," she hummed to him softly. "But you're gonna have to eat first," she told him with a small laugh. She gave him a bit of a smile at his next comment, though. "I know you were," she told him lightly before shrugging. "You needs your beauty sleep," she added with a chuckle. She leaned down to peck his lips before offering a smile. "Well, stay in your little cocoon as long as you need it," she hummed softly. "I like you here," she chucked softly.

Sage hummed lightly and nodded in response to her comment, shifting slightly as he got more comfortable. He groaned and nodded again when she mentioned eating breakfast. "That means I have to get up though," he half whined and then gave her a grin when she pecked him. "Well good, because I like being here," he mused happily. "You're a very nice pillow," he chirped. "Warm and cozy. And you give massages," he added, referencing the way she was absentmindedly rubbing his shoulder. It did feel nice. And he was more than happy to stay there. Besides, if she'd made him sore, a little massage seemed like something he could definitely ask for. Especially since she was already sort of doing it.

Mari hummed at his comment before nodding quietly. "Yeah, to start the day you kind of have to get up," she mused softly before letting him go so that he could shift. "You know it so cute, you being all cuddly," she teased to him. She cocked her head at him after a moment, thought "I make a good pillow..." she repeated before looking at him with wide eyes. "What on earth is that meant to mean?!" She asked with a chuckle. She hand her hand along his shoulder for a moment before looking up at him happily. "Well, I could give you a proper massage if you turn over," she mused lightly.

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded with a sort of groan. "I know," he mused. "Maybe Ill just stay here forever," he joekd lightly before humming in response to her next comments. "I just told you..you're warm and cozy," he mused happily. He grunted in agreement when she said if he turned over she could give him a proper massage, though he had to admit, getting up and actually turning over took more energy than he really had, so by the time he'd managed to shift himself over that direction, his heart was racing all over again and he sort of just....flopped there. The blankets were still covering his lower body, so he was warm enough. His torso was a bit cold, but Maris hands were warm so that was alright. Besides, a massage would feel nice. He was sore from the wounds still, though they'd healed enough for this.
