Sage sort of huffed out a breath but patted her hand lightly when she came over. But he shook his head at her comment and sighed slightly, humming "I was hoping to finish," somewhat sullenly, glancing over at the pile of dishes he hadn't gotten to quite yet and making a face. He couldn't imagine finishing...but he sort of wanted to. "I doubt that'll happen though," he grumbled, shifting slightly. He leaned forward to sort of rest his head on her shoulder for a moment before sitting back off with a sort of sigh. "I might just lay on the couch for a minute," he mused. "Then go check on the horses." Snowball was close to labor, and he wanted to be there to help if need be.

Mari chuckled softly ho him when he rested his head on her, and slowly started swaying sort of from side to side. "Don't worry, I'll do it," she chuckled lightly to him before pecking the top of his head. "Go lay down," she hummed softly before pecking the top of his head happily. She helped him down before going to clean anything up that he hadn't managed to do. She didn't mind, plus, he did need to rest, and she knew he was anxious about this horse that was going to have a foal... just in time, too, because it was starting to get a little colder out now.

He sighed slightly but allowed her to tug him down off the counter, a thankful look on his face. He did want to finish doing the dishes...he felt sort of guilty about making her continue to do everything...but he couldn't fathom doing anything else but wandering over to the couch and flopping down on it tiredly. Amber, of course, jumped up there with him, sort of curling up on the small of his back, just as happy as he was to have her there. He didn't mean to fall asleep again, but that's exactly what happened. Pretty quickly too...he'd had a brief thought about getting a blanket, but the cat was cozy on him so hed decided to stay out, and that was the last thing he remembered before passing out. He'd tried to stay awake, of course, since he only wanted to rest for a minute, but that plan just...didn't happen.

Mari washed up happily, kind of humming a little tune as she did so. Just as she was putting things away, she saw Anthony wandering into the stables. She grinned and gave a happy grin to the boy. After a moment or so, he disappeared into the stables, a few seconds later he came out shouting about something about the mare. She kind of put everything down before padding over to Sage and giving him a little shake to get him up. "Sage, you need to go down to the yard," she told him quietly, though there was a sense of urgency in his voice.

Sage sort of stirred slightly with a groan when Mari woke him, though at her words he grunted and nodded, moving to slide off the couch and pad towards the door, Amber immediately pressing against his leg and wandering along next to him. He pressed a quick kiss to Maris cheek on the way out, humming some kind of thanks before moving as fast as he could down to the yard. He noticed Anthony there, looking rather anxious, so he moved in the older boys direction. "What's going on," he called over as he made his way down to the boy. "Snowball finally decided she wants her little alien out of her," he asked in amusement.

Mari smiled softly to the boy at his little kiss and quickly shoed him off, watching him waddle down to the yard before going back to her jobs.
Anthony grinned at the other boy, giving a bit of a nod. "Yep, I reckon so. About time, too," he snorted before wandering over to the stable, where the mare was thrashing about. "All going well for now. I'd just be keeping an eye on her unless you want to intervene," he added after a few moment of silence. The mare did seem to have everything under control, though. She'd done this loads for times... and Sage really was lucky to have a few good and proven mares.

Sage hummed lightly in response to Anthony's comment, and chuckled slightly at his second one. He nodded and wandered over to peer in at the mare for a moment before chuckling. 'imagine having that thing inside you for eleven months," he mused, shaking his head. Then he grunted and nodded, grabbing a hay bale and dragging it over for them to sit on. "She's done this plenty of times...I'll be here in case she needs some help, but I don't want to stress her either," he mused lightly. 'just do what you need to do, and I'll be watching her," he hummed in suggestion, since the other horses were starting to get impatient, and he didn't want them to upset her at all.

The boy shrugged to him with a bit of a chuckle. "I'm not even going to think about it," he chided in an amused manner before shaking his head slightly. The horses were starting to kick for their breakfasts, so he shushed them before going to grab the cleaned feed buckets from the night before. "You know what you're doing," he shrugged to him before going to start skipping out and chuckling feeds out to them as he went along... this was pretty exciting, he supposed. This would have been one of the first foals... and the last one for this year, considering they were starting so small, so it should have been interesting. And Sage definitely seemed excited about it all.

Sage chuckled lightly at the boy's comment and nodded. "It doesn't sound very fun," he mused in agreement to the older boy's comment, settling down to watch the mare as Anthony went about his business feeding and watering the horses. They'd hold off on Snowball's feed for a while...he'd give it to her once he knew she wouldn't colic or anything, but he did leave some water in her stall, for obvious reasons. He did make sure it was only a bit cooler than room temperature though, so as not to shock her any more than she already was. Soon enough though, she'd popped out a small, dark colt with a few whisps of lighter hair around his flanks, which he took to mean the foal would soon enough grey out like his mother. Though, he might be a bit darker thanks to Chaos's black coat. He slid into the stall then, to check the mare and foal over, though they both seemed perfectly healthy. He let Snowball lick the foal clean, checking the afterbirth over to make sure it was all out before giving the mare her dinner and then scooping the placenta up and dumping it in the now empty bucket, wiping his hands on his pants, not that it did much good since he had sticky foal juices all over him anyway, before sliding out of the stall happily.

Anthony helped out around the place the best he could, though when he heard a relived sigh of Sages he wandered over happily, kind of poking his head over the door before grinning and leaving the two horses to it. "Finally," he mused to the other boy with a grin. It was a nice colt, too... and the mother was quickly caring for it. He looked to Sage after a moment, kind of wrinkling his nose. He scooped up the bucket to dispose of the content, then looked back to his brother in law. "Go get cleaned up before my sister makes you sleep outside," he huffed after a few moments.
