Sage grunted slightly at her comment and shrugged. "I made a mess doing it," he muttered. "And then burnt half of it since I couldn't manage to stay awake for ten minutes," he snorted, though his face softened slightly when Silas piped up about something and was tugging at his shirt for him to listen. He gave Mari a smile when she handed them the food, though it fell again rather quickly. The food did smell good though, he could admit that. Hopefully, they tasted good too and he didn't mess up that too.

Mari shook her head and sat next to him happily. "Hun, look, everything is cleaned up now. Don't worry, you tried and it was sweet of you, so thank you," she hummed softly to him as she picked up a few sandwiches. "And hey, on the bright side you managed to get up before me for once," she chuckled softly to the boy after a few moments, then shook her head. "Seriously, don't worry. Eat your food then head off to bed, I don't mind," she added after a short while, and soon enough finished up her food before going to wash the plates up.

Sage sort of just grunted in response but nodded anyway. He ate rather slowly, since he had to admit he was a little bit tired after waking up and actually..like...getting up. He did grin when she teased him about getting up earlier than her, though not for more than a moment or so. Silas had run off soon enough, and he wandered over to hand Mari his plate, then sat down again, wanting to talk, but eventually just fell asleep again.

Mari took the plate happily and moved to press a light kiss to his cheek before starting to wash up. Silas had headed up to his room to play for a bit, so once she was done she went to make sure Liz had eaten before wandering out to meet her brother at the yard. She breifly explained that a Sage was asleep and told him that she was going to get some shopping done before wandering off and out the door... she wouldn't be out for long, just making sure that the house was fully stocked and that they had everything they needed.

Sage pretty much stayed where he was at for a while, though once Silas got bored of playing by himself he pounded back into the kitchen, asking for sage to play. Which, of course, woke him up. But he nodded and went to sit on the floor of the boys room, pretending to do ...whatever Silas wanted, really. He did enjoy spending some time with the boy, after all. And it did make him feel a bit better. After an hour or so, though, Silas had gotten sleepy, so sage left him to rest for a bit since it was around nap time anyway. He sort of plopped down onto the couch before grabbing a pencil and the pad of paper sitting by the couch to try and draw. His wrist was mostly better by then, so the brace was off, so he may as well try while he had nothing better to do and he was alone. His hair kept getting in the way, though, so eventually he just stole one of Maris hair ties, pulling it up in a sort of bun, small hairs drifting around his face and neck in places. It was definitely easier, he could admit that.

Mari was out for a little while, picking up whatever they needed and some extras... some more blankets for the kids in winter, and an extra for Sage since she knew he got cold. Some extra sweets and things for the children, that sort of thing. She came back after a little while, about four bags of things she was struggling to carry up until she got to the door. She didn't like going out much, so they'd be pretty stocked up for now. She quietly padded in, not sure if Sage would still be asleep, and went to put things away. She looked over to Sage after a bit, where he was drawing quietly. He looked to... serene. She smiled a bit before putting the rest of the things and a few bags away before padding over to him quietly and sitting on the couch, resting her head on his shoulder as she watched him draw. She sort of fiddled with the bun for a little bit before gently giving it a tug at the base. "This is mine," she hummed to him with a small chuckle.

Sage was more than happy to just sit and draw for a while, while it was quiet. The kids were asleep, and Mari was somewhere... probably the store since they'd been getting low on a few things here and there....so he had some time to himself. It was sort of nice, though he wasn't normally a fan of being alone for long. But the bit of time he had was nice. Though, when he felt Mari come settle down next to him, he curled in happily, still working on the drawing of the new foal. He hummed lightly at her comment, a slight chuckle rising from his chest and he gave her a slight cheeky grin. "What's yours is mine," he joked lightly before going back to finishing the drawing.

Mari hummed quietly before shaking her head. "My husband isn't meant to be stealing my hair ties," she mused softly to him, but drew her hands back, tucking them between her legs as she settled down next to him. She watched him work away for a little bit before tucking her nose into his neck with a heavy breath. "You okay?" She asked softly after a little bit. "You were a bit... ansty this morning," she told him after a little bit, and went to close her eyes ever so slightly. He seemed alright now, but he was just a little bit off earlier.

Sage chuckled slightly at her comment, not able to feel so bad that the comment wasn't funny. He hummed lightly in response to her comment, sort of pausing the drawing and moving to rest his head on hers lightly with a slight sigh, blowing some of the baby hairs out of his eyes. "Just an off day I guess," he admitted. "Happens sometimes." It wasn't necessarily an abnormal thing....he got more down than usual sometimes...it sort of just came with the way his brain was. He normally just ignored it best he could, but not being able to do anything to help Mari out was getting on his nerves a bit he supposed. He'd felt bad about it for a while, and while he hadn't reached a breaking point per say, it was just...a bad day. "played with Silas for a bit. That seemed to help," he hummed. Mari hummed softly to him, and kind of drew in a deep breath before sighing. "Just one of those days, hm?" She murmured quietly before shrugging to him gently. She knew he was down more days than others, and she supposed that came with everything he'd been through. Well, that was fine. She was always happy to just sit with him if that was what he wanted. "Yeah, Silas seems to help everything. He's always so chirpy," she chuckled happily to the boy before sort of standing up to grab one of the blankets she'd picked up that day, then waddled back over to wrap it around herself tightly, resuming her position next to him with her head on his shoulder. "This is nice," she noted in response to his drawing.
