Sage had sort of zoned out after a while, so he was admittedly a little bit surprised when he felt Maris arms wrap around him. He hummed lightly at her kiss, tilting his head slightly but nodding. "Had a nightmare and woke myself up," he mused lightly. "wanted to let you sleep so I got cozy down here," he admitted with a chuckle. "I'm alright though," he added, not wanting her to worry as she was going to leave. He was alright ..it wasn't a necessarily bad one....but it was certainly unnerving. And now he'd worry a lot over something happening. But it would be alright. Hopefully.

Mari smiled softly when his head tilted to the side, and sort of moved to bury her face in his neck gently. "You know I don't mind you waking me up," she mused softly. Though, she was a bit surprised she hadn't worked herself up... she was normally a pretty light sleeper. After a little while she let out a heavy breath and gave a smile. "As long as you're alright though, then that's fine," she murmured gently before peeling herself away from him. "You want some food before I go?"

Sage chuckled softly and nodded, patting her arm gently. "I know, but you needed to rest," he hummed lightly. "Besides, I wasn't gonna fall asleep again so you'd have been up since like one in the morning, and I know you'd have some issues with that," he chuckled lightly, half teasing her. He hummed lightly and shook his head in response to her question though, shrugging. "I'm not awake enough to be hungry quite yet," he admitted. "If you want to eat together I'll come in there though," he added happily.

Mari smiled gently to the boy before rolling her eyes. "I mean, no probably not, but I would have been happy to help you out a little bit," she mused before wandering around to sit next to him. She then furrowed her brows. "So you've been awake for five hours?" She asked quietly before gently placing her hands on his shoulders and pushing him back on the couch. She pressed a light kiss to his lips. "Try and get some rest. I'll bring my food in here," she mused gently to him.

Sage hummed lightly and nodded. "I know," but I'd feel bad about it," he noted with a chuckle. He hummed happily when she pressed him lower and pecked his lips though, nodding in quiet obedience. He wouldn't argue ...if he didn't have to move from where he was comfortable, that was more than fine with him. "Something like that," he mused lightly, shrugging. "I've sort of just been chilling out here," he admitted, somewhat sheepishly before settling down and waiting for her to return.

Mari smiled softly to the boy before standing up. "Make sure you rest while I'm gone then... no staying up an extra five hours if you don't need to," she told him gently before wandering over to the kitchen, starting to put a little breakfast together. She soon called through, though. "And your meds," she added before wandering back in and sitting on the edge of the bed, starting to eat happily. "And if you need anything, I'm not far," she the added softly.

Sage chuckled light and nodded. "I know," he hummed. Then he gave a slight groan when she mentioned the meds. "I know that too," he noted with amusement. He sort of shifted over so his head was resting on her thigh once she sat down again. "Don't worry," he hummed. "We'll be alright. And mom and Anthony are always willing to help too, you know that," he added happily. He wasn't quite hungry, but he reached over to steal a strawberry off of her plate anyway, since it was there and he was kinda bored, so why not eat a strawberry. Especially if they could make it into some fun before she left.

Mari furrowed her brows at him. "I know you know, but I don't know that you'll actually do it," she sighed when he went to rest his head on her. She gently played with his hair for a bit before giving a small smile. Her brother had been good to them... to good, really, but he'd been amazing. Helping with the kids and the horses when they needed it... she was just so grateful. But if Sage was alone and had a nightmare, he couldn't stay in bed and rest... especially if he had the kids to himself for a while. She scowled at him when he took a strawberry from her, though. "You said you weren't hungry," she huffed to him.

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded with a slightly amused hum. "I know," he chuckled slightly. "I promise I'll take my medicine," he hummed. He'd feel too bad breaking his promise to her to actually not do that. Besides, he'd have to care for the kids and horses, so he'd have to manage himself. He gave her a goofy looking grin when she grumbled about him snatching a strawberry and giggled. "I'm not. But I wanted one," he chirped.
