Mari gave him a fairly happy little smile after a little bit, and tried to grab the strawberry back, though by then Sage had popped it in his mouth. "Jerk," she huffed after a bit and went to put her plate away and clear up, and soon went to grab her bags to drop at the front door. She had about an hour until she needed to go, so she could chill out with her husband for a bit. She flipped down on the couch next to him and gave a heavy sigh. "And the house had best be cleaned when I get back. I will jump on you if it's not, and you and I both know you're not strong enough to hold yourself up if I do,@ she chuckled happily.

Sage chuckled lightly at her comment, quickly popping the berry into his mouth before she could snatch it back. He giggled lightly at her huff and then moved so she could go out her plate away. He scooted over to cuddle up again once she came back though, humming happily. He gave her a wide grin at her comment about the house being clean, a mischievous glint starting to flicker in his eyes. "Well, I don't know about you, but you coming home and jumping on me sounds mighty nice to me," he giggled lightly.

Mari rolled her eyes at him, though by then she was already drawing shapes in the deeper v of his shirt. She gave a small laugh at his tease before shaking her head. "You can barely hold yourself up most of the time. Never mind me pushing you over," she teased him happily before shaking her head a little bit. It was sorta kinda true, though... especially recently. He struggled carrying her to the couch a few weeks back, and she didn't mind much, but it was certainly an amusing thought. "Who knows, though. If you keep it clean then the jumping could become a prize rather than a punishment," she mused lightly to him, a little bit of a purr in her voice.

Sage hummed lightly in response to her comment, his skin sort of tingling where she'd started to draw on his chest. He gave her his normal crooked grin at her next comment though, chuckling lightly. "Well if I can't get up then I have an excuse to stay under there. Maybe you'll have to kiss me better." He grinned up at her last comment, humming happily. "I'll keep you to that," he purred back.

Mari grinned up at him happily before pressing a light kiss to his lips. "My kissing is just fine, so Shh or you'll never get one again," she mused lightly before shrugging. And giving a soft breath. "I'm gonna get going," she murmured gently to the boy before standing up and giving a little stretch. "Keep everything neat and tidy then, we'll see in a few weeks," she mused softly to him.

Sage hummed lightly in response to her comment, his grin reforming on his face in response to her peck. "Well, we can't have that, now can we," he mused lightly before nodding and shifting so she could stand up. He hummed in agreement with her last comment and moved to stand up so he could walk down to the door with her, wrapping his arms around her in a hug before she could move to pick up her bags. He pecked her cheek too, humming, "I'll see you soon. Be safe, yeah?", before pulling back and forcing himself to let her get her bags and actually leave.

Mari smiled softly to the bit after a few moments, wrapping her arm tightly around his side as they walked towards the door. She didn't want to leave their little home, but she'd be back in about two weeks, and she trusted Sage would manage the place just fine. She smiled when he wrapped her in a hug, and gave him a happy little smile. "See you in a bit," she chirped to him before picking her bags up and wandering off... it wasn't a long walk, so she was happy to stroll... but soon enough she was back in the bustle of the castle, where she got settled in a little room just outside the ward, and eventually got back to work with the doctor, helping out and little sores and illnesses... there were a few patients with the worse one, but she was happy to treat them all the same.

Sage smiled over at her and nodded, watching he wander away until she was out of sight around the bend. He sighed then and cast one last glance at the spot he'd last seen her before turning and closing the door, sort of just getting breakfast ready for the kids. He still just wasn't hungry, especially since now the house seemed ...strangely empty. Quiet. She wouldn't be gone long, he knew that, but it was still a bit odd to be separated from her for so long. And it wasn't even all that long. But it did seem like a forever for him all of a sudden, and he busied himself doing anything and everything he could do keep himself busy and his mind focused. Breakfast, wiping off the tables and cabinets, sweeping the floor....the house was spotless and then cleaned another two times before he heard Silas wandering out of his room, and he gladly moved to scoop the boy up and bring him down to the kitchen where he gave him breakfast and then wandered over to get Lizzie out of her room and bring her into the kitchen as well.

Mari busied herself with work quite quickly... she didn't need to just yet, but she didn't like doing nothing. So, she soon enough did all the jobs in the ward, saw to people who'd already seen the doctor and was tidying up an the likes... it was a bit like when she'd first started here. And, it was work she quite liked. She loved Sage, and the kids, but she often found herself without anything to actually do, especially in the mornings, so this was nice for a change. It was like that for the first few days, but soon enough there was talk of the rebellion spiking again. They'd sorted the guards out, and Anya was all over keeping the place safe, so she didn't really think too much of it.

Sage had sort of grown more used to the quietness of the house without Mari there at his side as the days moved on. Anthony and Edith had popped in an out over the course of the days too, which definitely helped. Silas and Lizzie had seemed to miss her a bit, but all he had to do was give them something to do or distract them in some way, or reassure them she'd be back soon, and they'd be alright. He was definitely tired....he'd been waking up early and getting to bed later, and even with cuddling her pillow he had nightmares here and there. Even so, it was better than it was the first night she'd left. He was out at the barns with the kids and amber now, letting typhoon and snowball out in the pasture. He was holding Lizzie, and letting the foal play with Silas. The two were running around happily, and it was really a nice thing to see. Especially with talk of a rebellion again....it did scare him a bit, especially since Mari was at the castle. He was worried about Anya and Att and the doctor too...really he was just worried a lot he supposed. But times like these calmed him down a bit.. it was nice to be with the kids.
