Mari gave a small squeak when she felt her brothers arms wrap around her and gave small chuckle to him before shaking her head, her arms instantly going to wrap around the rest of her family. They were all babbling on about something to the boy, and soon enough went to give her mother a hug herself... the boys weren't so emotional, they just wanted to know what exactly what had happened, while her mother was silent, the same way he had been when her dad had passed. Had she been like this for long? She wasn't sure, but she went to wrap her up happily before gesturing to the table for them to sit down. "I've made a roast... go get comfy," she murmured softly to the group, then sort of wandered over to her husband with a small huff, wrapping her arms around his waist softly, and pecked his cheek after a moment. "Can you please get some plates out?" She asked him quietly.

Sage turned towards Mari when he felt her wrap her arms around him, humming happily in response to her peck. He nodded when she asked if he could get plates, and sort of moved to get everything out so they could all get settled. Everyone was eating happily soon enough though....man, he'd missed her cooking. He could cook, of course, but hers was better. At least to him. It was just special, he supposed. And she'd been more creative in making up something nice than he'd been the past few months too... He'd had too much on his mind for that. But she was home now, and everyone was happy. It was certainly nice.

The girl smiled sheepishly to him, and grabbed the large ish bowl with the chicken and other various vegetables they had left... it wasn't enough, but they'd be able to have a little bit each and still have a bit left for later. She just put together whatever they had, and a roast seemed to be the best option. She sat down, her brother bombarding her with questions... she explained everything calmly, though she was a bit nervous. Her mother seemed happier now that she'd actually seen her, though. They ate and chatted, though soon it was late so that all got ready to go... but it was nice seeing her family after so long.

Sage had been rathe rpleased with how the evening had gone....everyone seemed notably happier than before, and it was nice to just sit and chat with their family, without being stressed or worried or rushing out the door to work. It had been a while since they could all just relax together. And have a meal together. They didn't have much food to share, which he did feel a bit guilty about, but it was delicous, and no one seemed to mind. Edith and Anthony, and even Xander really, had been around while Mari was gone and knew what was going on. Soon enough, though, they had headed back home after helping to clean everything up, and he was completely exhausted. It was a good exhausted though...not the awful kind of just dreariness he sometimes got.

Mari smiled when they came to help her tidy up... because they all knew she'd work herself to death if this wasn't done now. Soon, though, everything was done, and they'd said their goodbyes, though she held her mother in a long hug and assured her once again that everything was alright. She waved them away, and stood in the doorway until they were out a view. She sighed and made sure the kids had eaten and got them to bed since it was late by then, then went to go sit down next to Sage on the couch. She sort of let his hair down, gently playing with it for a moment before letting out a breath. "I'm going to bed too... I'll see you up there," she murmured softly, pecking his cheek before going to get changed and flopping down in the bed, soon enough just passing out.

Sage had flopped onto the couch once everyone was out of the house. It had been nice....but he really was exhausted. He opened his eyes and smiled softly at Mari when she sat down next to him, letting her play with his hair more than happily. He nodded in response to her comment, humming softly in response to her peck. He double checked that everything was all good before moving to change into pajamas and crawl into bed, wrapping his arms around her gently before passing out himself...it didn't take very long either.

Mari smiled softly when she felt his arms around her, but continued to sleep deeply... she needed the rest. She always did quite a lot, but more recently, she really needed it to heal and function... and she had to look after the kids, and Sage a bit too. She didn't mind... but she also needed to let herself heal the best she could. She woke up quietly later in the morning, sort of just taking in deep breaths. She missed Sages scent... she'd gotten used to it being something that would protect her, and the same went for when she was laying in his arms like this. She needed it, the safety of it all, and he gave her that at least. She was just glad to be back in that safe spot... between his arms, where his head was resting above hers, and she was clinging to any ounce of warmth he gave her... and it was a spot she knew he kept safe for her.

Sage slept rather deeply....his nightmares had diminished more and more the longer she was back with him. Which was definitely a good thing, because he still felt pretty sick. His cough hadn't gotten any better since he'd stopped working at the tavern either....he'd been hiding it from Mari and the kids best he could, but sometimes there was no way to do that, especially with the cold air. But that was ok....he could still function enough to help out around the house. Keep Mari from overworking herself and reinjuring herself. Besides, he'd feel bad if he didn't. And she didn't need to worry about him....she needed to worry about getting better herself. He woke up a while after her though the next morning, and sort of just tightened his hold on her slightly as he shifted to get more comfortable before settling down again with a huff of air, definitely just happy to bury his nose in her hair and smell her there with him. To feel her warmth. Because he was definitely cold...most likely because of the fever. But that was alright.

Mari smiled softly to the boy when she felt his arms wrap her arms around her, and sort of tilted her head back with a small smile. "Morning," she murmured softly, turning around a little bit to wrap her arm around him gently. She was still so tired... but all the same she wanted to spend as much time as she could with Sage. She'd missed him more than anything, and she knew he wasn't feeling the best just yet. She smiled softly after a moment or two, though, and sort of rested her forehead against his, only to find that he was still burning up. She frowned a little and sat up, kind of giving him a worried look.
