Sage had gotten better over the past few weeks. It was a slow process, since he hadn't wanted to work Mari too hard. But she'd healed up quite a bit now, and was pretty much all better. Which was good, because he wanted to be able to do things on Christmas. And he was sure she'd want to as well. And they had all the necessities back, with some money to spare....maybe he could bring her out to dinner or something for dinner. Maybe tonight, for Christmas Eve, or for new years or something.

Mari wandered around the house happily, already starting Christmas dinner for the next day. She was excited... she loved the holidays, and getting to spend time with her little family seemed amazing. They had a few gifts for the kids, and one for Sage and a couple each for the rest of her family. When she heard Sage coming down the stairs, she gave a soft hum of a morning, and handed him a plate full of breakfast that she'd been making along side the dinner. They'd planned on getting the kids tired enough so that they just went straight to sleep a bit earlier so that they could set the presents out... so that it was a bit more special for them in the morning.

Sage had wandered into the kitchen happily, chirping good morning to Mari in response to her hum, reaching for his breakfast when she slid him the plate full of food. He thanked her happily before sort of starting to eat, moving to let Silas slide into his lap once the little boy woke and decided he wanted to see his parents, as he always did. Eventually, he got the boy his own plate, and moved to peer over Maris shoulder at what she was making for dinner, wrapping his arms around her, humming happily. It certainly smelled good...and he really couldn't wait to taste it all.

Mari gave a smile when Silas came down the stairs, and sort of looked back at Sage happily when he wrapped her arms over. "Good morning," she hummed happily to him. "If you could run Silas and Liz around a little bit today that would be amazing, you know... the sooner they get to bed the better," she chirped happily to him. Silas was already busy running around the place, so it wouldn't take much, but it was what they needed. She sort of rested her head to the side before letting out a soft breath.

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded in response to her comment. 'i know," he mused happily. "I might fall asleep early too though," he chuckled. He was really only joking, though it probably wasn't too far off. "I'll set some games up in the backyard. If I get tired I'll hand them off to Anthony," he laughed. He peered down onto the dish she was working on, sniffing the air happily. "Whatcha planning on making," he asked curiously. They'd talked about some things, of course....he was partial to some fresh bread, and she knew it. And they'd have the same dessert as their first date, and then their honeymoon. But other than that, he had no idea what she'd come up with.

Mari chuckled at him and shook her head lightly. "You'd be missing out on all your fun if you fell asleep she warned with a small laugh. "And do you not think my poor brother has done enough for you?" She asked with a chuckle. He'd helped them out lots... she couldn't be more grateful about it all. She turned her head ans pecked his cheek happily. "Honey glazed Duck for dinner... not too sure for pudding, though," she hummed gently as she turned everything off and turned around to face him with a happy smile. "What would you like? I can make anything," she chirped happily.

He chuckled lightly and hummed happily. He nodded along to her first comment, giving her a wide grin. "Yeah, and now that you're not gonna fall apart by doing anything, you get special treatment tonight while we get a few extra hours," he purred lightly before slipping away and grabbed silas's hand. "Let's go see the horses, huh bud," to him, to which the boy responded eagerly. He scooped Liz up too, and waddled out the door with the kids, but not after giving Mari a sneaky look and rather mischievous grin on his way out.

Mari sort of felt her cheeks flush up at his comment, but soon enough gave a small chuckle and pecked his cheeks. "Hmm... can't wait," she hummed lightly before turning to ensure that everything was still sound. She caught his grin, and sort of just smiled sheepishly back before getting back to her cooking. She needed to figure out a pudding, and have everything ready just to be heated up on Christmas evening. But the duck was pretty much done, being that all they needed to do was let it cook, so she would finish off some pudding now... Sage liked fresh bread, so she could make some later that eventehing.

Sage chuckled slightly at her comment, his grin growing when he caught her blush. He'd wandered out the door by then though, doing his best to keep the kids up and moving for as long as he possibly could. It was certainly very fun though, and before he realized it, the sun was starting to set and Lizzie was nodding off in his arms. Even Silas was sitting still leaning against a stall door. "Come on bud, let's go get dinner and get you to bed," he hummed quietly, so as not to wake Lizzie. They'd brought snacks, of course, hoping to sort of eat lunch on the go so they didn't catch a second wind sitting down or crash then, so he wasn't too worried about Lizzie being hungry. He slid into the house quietly, ushering Silas to the kitchen before moving to settle Liz in her crib.

Mari kept on going happily, really just enjoying the fact she got to play in the kitchen for a little while. She made dinner for that night, too, but it wasn't anything over the top. Just some finger food, but Silas loved it so there wasn't too much of an issue. They were both heavy sleepers so she and Sage could set the presents out and take their time with it. Silas ate quickly, and when he was done Mari went to peck him on the top of the head. "Go shower and get to bed quickly hun, or you might scare the rain deer off," she chirped to him. She and Sage had been nurturing the idea of Santa to them... neither of them had gotten that, and she wanted the kids to at least have a little bit of magic in their childhood. She went to wash what she'd used up eventually, though.
