Sage had settled down, content to watch the fire flicker about while Mari cooked. He glanced over at her when she set the cups down, a small smile forming on his face when she plopped down on his hips and humming lightly, patting her thigh lightly as a sort of hello before taking the drink with a chuckle. "Im sure I can manage that," he mused, curling up against her side happily. He did like his hot cocoa....it was tasty, and it was really the only drink that ever seemed to actually warm him up. Not that he was necessarily cold right then, but still. He was more than happy to sip at it for a while as they waited for the kids. Silas came running into the living room, carrying Lizzie soon enough. He plopped Lizzie onto Sage's lap, forcing a grunt from his mouth, though he had to grin at the younger boys pleads to open presents.

Mari smiled lightly when he took the cup from her, but she soon enough juggled over to the piles of gifts for the boy, handing the child each one at a time... she seemed just as excited watching him open them. She soon enough tools tiny I've over for Liz, too.. she wouldn't know what it was, not really, but it was. A small teddy bear for her... she wouldn't remember any of this, so they hadn't gotten her as much stuff as they'd gotten for Silas, but she had a fair bit. For a one year old, anyway. She also handed Sage a little wrapped candle that she'd had the kids make before going back to messing about with little Silas, again going back to handing him gifts, she'd gotten Sage some things too... but she'd give him the rest later that night. And most of what Liz had was clothes... though, she'd picked both of them up a small necklace with a little cross on it, much the same as Sages... Silas had opened his by then and had started running up to Sage, telling him how similar they looked. And they did... the child was starting to look just like Sage. Mari sort of crawled back over to tie the little necklace to Lizzie's top, since she was too little to wear it... but it was still very sweet.

Sage watched the kids open their presents happily, definitely enjoying how happy Silas was, grabbing at presents here and there. It felt like his grin was going to split his cheeks open it was so wide when Silas seemed to be so happy about having matching necklaces. He chuckled slightly as Mari tied Lizzie's to her top, and then reached over to clip silas's onto him, much to the boys delight. He cocked his head slightly when Mari handed him the gift from the kids, though chuckled when he saw it and hugged them both. "Why don't you give mama her present now, hmm," he asked Silas, to which the boy scrambled back over to the tree excitedly before presenting the rather badly wrapped box. He figured she wouldn't care too much about the wrapping though...it was the thought that counted.

Mari watched the two boys happily... she'd noticed Silas looking at Sages necklace a few times, and he seemed more than glad to have one similar. No doubt he'd get the one Sage had one day, but for now this was perfect. She took Liz from Sage happily, playing with her hair quietly as she watched her son pad over. She took the package from him happily, pecking the top of his head. "Thanks hunny," she hummed lightly to the boy. Soon enough, though, the child seemed worn out and was settled on the sofa, munching on his breakfast happily, and she made sure Liz had eaten too before going to clear everything up in the living room.

Sage was more than happy to watch the boy give Mari open silas's present, and how excited the boy was to give her the present. Soon enough, they had moved to cleaning up the living room, after getting all the kids settled with their breakfast. Then he flopped down on the floor next to Mari happily. (Dogs getting into something so it's short lol)

Mari smiled over at Sage when he flopped down next to her, and pecked the side of his face before going to put the wrapping in the bin. "My mother wants the kids this afternoon... she's decided she wants to spoil them," she mused lightly. Silas chimed in that he wanted to go see grandma, and she gave a small smile before handing the child a bag filled with gifts. "Well, take these for the family," she chirped before looking over to Sage. "Will you take them?" She asked lightly. She could clear up a bit more... and her mother would probably want to spend the evening with the kids.

Sage hummed lightly and nodded when she mentioned that Edith wanted the kids, and chuckled as Silas begged him to hurry. "I'm coming, I'm coming kiddo," he mused. He pecked her on the cheek and then headed out, wandering along with kids until they reached Grandma's house, as it were called. Edith greeted him happily, though she soon enough shooed him back to Mari's side. So, after an hour or so, he wandered back, putting his coat and things away before wandering over to where she was sweeping and wrapping his arms around her waist and pecking her neck. "hey babe," he hummed. "Your mom wanted the kids for the night....though she also said she wanted us to have charistmas to ourselves for a bit too, so that was probably part of it too," he explained, the last part coming out as a sort of chuckle.

Mari gave a light smile when she felt the boy wrap his arms around her, and sort of shook her head. "Awh, I was wanting them here," she complained with a little laugh. She did want them here for an evening, but she also knew that the kids would be completely and utterly spoilt on their Christmas. "Well, more food for us, I guess," she chirped lightly to him before going to grab a dustpan and brush.

Sage chuckled lightly and nodded, then shrugged. "Well just have to give them their big dinner tomorrow. Two days in a row," he chuckled lightly. "They're spoiled rotten," he mused. "Then again, so are the horses," he laughed, moving to release Mari so she could grab the dustpan and grabbed the buckets of oats and berries and stuff that he'd made up for the horses earlier. "They're getting their Christmas meal too," he chirped. "I'll go feed them and then come back, yeah," he commented. "Then we can have our 'peace and lovey dovey time's, as mom called it," he chuckled, jokingly teasing the older woman for her comments. Though, that was exactly what was probably going to happen, and she knew it.

Mari smiled softly to him after a moment or two and leaned back to press a light kiss to his cheek. "Lucky kids," she chuckled to him happily. "And lucky horses," she chuckled lightly to the boy before letting him go again. She pressed a light kiss to his lips as she watched him walk off before going to put some more wood on the fire. It was still cute in here still... it still smelt like warm pine and a small woody musk. It was sweet, and she did admit she was excited to spend time with her husband in their own house, without having to hide from the children in their room. Even if it was just curling up infront of the fire, she was happy enough.
