Mari huffed out a breath to him before moving to press a light kiss to his lips. "I'd love nothing more than to watch you sleep all day, but baby boy, we do need to get up and be adults for a little while," she murmured to him, then went to peck his lips gently when he decided to wake up just a little bit more. They still had about another ten minutes to get themselves dressed and ready, so it would just be nice to relax a little bit longer.

Sage sort of let out a snort in response to her comment and scowled, though it was more of a tired one and definitely not a mad one. "I hate adulting sometimes," he grumbled, though felt a grin grow back in his face when she kissed him. "I am rather excited to meet these people," he admitted. He'd said that before ...and it was true. They'd brought a Mari back to him. To them. And he didn't even know what they looked like. He and Mari had decided to give them one of the older colts, that would be nearly two years old by now and mostly trained as a thanks, since their mare was rather old. Not typhoon....he was their first foal, and he hadn't want to give him up. But there was a dark bay colt out of one of the other mares that showed equal promise and that was very well mannered. And sweet...he figured they'd like him.

Mari smiled softly to him and nodded in agreement. "Me too," she murmured gently to him after a moment, and gave a light chuckle. She didn't want to get any older, either... it was sort of scary. More scary now that she had a family of her own. She didn't want to think what would have happened if she had died, and she really didn't want to think about what would happen if Sage died. She'd be so broken. "They're good people," she hummed with a small chuckle. "A bit odd, but good," she mused lightly. She went to press a light kiss to his lips after a little while and shook her head. "The son is about Xanders age... but god does he act older. And the mother is a sweet heart too," she chuckled happily.

Sage hummed lightly in response to her comment, nodding slightly, still admittedly just trying to wake up a bit more. "Well they took good care of you so they have my stamp of approval," he chuckled, patting her back lightly. Then he gave her a crooked grin and chuckle. "You act like we're not a bit odd sometimes," he teased her lightly, humming happily in response to her kiss and then glancing at the clock with a groan. Now they only had a little over half an hour....but he still just didn't want to get up. He pecked her forehead though, and sat up with a groan, moving her up with him. "We gotta get up, babe," he sighed before yawning slightly, an arm making sure she didn't fall over until she was stable and then sort of propped himself up with it, running a hand over his face again. He should probably shave too....he didn't really grow much facial hair, which was more than fine with him, but it had been a while, so he did have some stubble by now. He much preferred none to having it... probably so he didn't wind up looking like his father, but whatever. He had guests coming over, so they should be presentable. "I need time to look like you weren't beating me up all night," he added with a slight chuckle, figuring he probably had plenty of dark marks on his neck and shoulders, as per the usual.

Mari sort of shook her head and gave a light chuckle. "They're lovely," she mused before sitting up when he did. She then sort of pouted at him. "Odd? I never said we weren't!!" She mused to him, then went to sit up a little bit more. She grinned at his little peck and kissed his nose lightly. She sighed before climbing off him and went to give a light smile as she picked out one of her slightly nicer dresses. She watched him get up before grinning gently. "Go shave and I'll get dinner ready," she chirped as she got changed. "I can help fix you up when you come down," she chirped happily.

Sage chuckled lightly in response to her comments and grinned over at her as she climbed off of him and went to get ready. "good," he teased her lightly before moving to climb out of bed himself and pad into the bathroom, nodding in agreement to her comment about getting him all ready. It didn't take long to shave...there wasn't a whole lot there, but it was more than enough for him. Soon enough, he'd dried his face off and wiped dry and then threw on some clean clothes before wandering downstairs to Mari. He didn't see the need to dress up or anything..he'd have to check in on the horses too, and it was just Christmas dinner. He wasn't too worried. "Hey," he chirped lightly to her when he came down, sort of wrapping his arms around her and peering over her shoulder to see what she was doing.

Mari smiled when he went to wonder up behind her, and sort of shook her head. "Hey," she hummed softly to him. "Nearly done here. Go grab my pallet from upstairs," she told him softly before fixing some plates together on the table. She grabbed a makeup brush, too, then smiled softly to the boy when he reappeared. "You know, it's a little hit concerning that you mark up so quickly she mused lightly to the boy before shaking her head she took the little palate from him quickly before tilting his head to the side with a small chuckle, carefully going over everything with a little bit of makeup.

Sage sort of grunted in agreement before wandering back up the stairs. She had a bag full of stuff, and because there were like three different pallets in there, he just grabbed the whole bag after a moment. He didn't really want to try and figure out which one was the one she wanted. He hummed lightly once he wandered back into the kitchen and was seated in a chair by the woman before chuckling in response to her comment. "Well it's your fault," he mused fondly. They both knew he definitely didn't mind...but even so he could joke around about it. He tried to keep as still as possible, though, so she could do... whatever she needed to do. He'd covered scratches or bruises with her makeup before, but he had to admit she was doing a much better job of actually covering the marks.

The girl hummed softly before shrugging. "Well, you know, you're the first person I've ever been with that actually likes being turned black and blue," she mused to him before sort of tilting his head to the side, carefully covering everything up so that it looked as natural as it could... which was hard, because his skin was sort of rough but it looked good enough. She tapped his shoulder when she was done and got to making the place look alright.

Sage chuckled lightly in response to her comment, shrugging after a moment and giving her a grin. "Well you don't seem to mind beating me up at all," he teased her, humming a sort of thanks and picking her cheek as she'd moved to do.... Whatever she was doing. Stress cleaning maybe. Making sure the house was perfect for their guests. He wandered to put all the makeup away, pausing to pretty at the job Mari had done. It was definitely better than what he could have done. He chuckled after a moment or two, really just amused at the whole situation. He was startled out of his thoughts when the door bell rang. Oops... He'd meant to help Mari before they got here.... But apparently that didn't happen. He moved to shove everything in the drawer and move downstairs, admittedly rather eager to meet these people.
