Mari flinched a little when he heard the doorbell ring, and quickly went to finish up wiping the counters down before running over to the door with a happy looking grin. There were loads of things about this that excited her... it was like showing off her house to her family for the first time. And they got to meet her husband, which was exciting too... the kids weren't here yet, but if they showed up in the next hour or two then they may get to meet... these people weren't her family, of course, but it felt the same as that. They'd saved her, and she wanted to show them what she would have missed out on if they hadn't.

Sage wandered down the stairs, figuring that he'd give Mari a minute to welcome them. She already sort of knew them after all, so he wanted to give her a moment with them. He could feel by the way she practically scrambled for the door she was excited....and he was definitely excited too. They'd saved her life, and he was definitely very, very grateful they had. The kids never even knew it was a possibility she may not come back home. Which was probably a good thing. They'd tell them what happened at some point, but not now. They weren't old enough to yet. Soon enough though, he slipped into the living room and over towards Mari, who was eagerly settling their guests down. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself when he noted the girl's grin, either.

Mari was chatting happily to Liza and Ned, about what they'd gotten up to over the last few weeks and how Sages horses were getting on... and Mari was obviously chatting non stop about the kids. Liza was fairly chatty, though, Ned was a bit more solem... that was fine, they'd loosen up in a little while. She looked over at the stairs when Sage had come down, and gave a bright grin to him before tapping the couch next to her. "Oh, this is Sage!" She chirped happily to them, and kind of went to hold his arm. "And this is Elizabeth and Ned," she chirped happily. She just seemed happy to show her husband off, to be honest... the the pair seemed happy to meet him, too. Liza held out a hand and gave a grin, and Neddy just smiled and waved a little awkwardly. "Lovely to meet you," Liza chirped happily.

Sage chuckled lightly at her enthusiasm but moved to plop down next to her happily greeting the pair, leaning over to shake Liza's hand firmly and give them both his normal crooked grin. "Glad to finally put a face to your names," he mused lightly before sitting back and wrapping an arm around Mari's shoulders, like he normally did. He could tell Ned was a bit shyer than Liza...but that was alright. He understood that. Even being this excited about meeting them, he still let Mari do most of the talking. He supposed he just wasn't the chattery type. Whatever. It was cute to watch Mari do it anyway....and why she seemed so happy to tell them all about them he didn't know, but it was nice to see, so he went along with it, piping up now and then when he felt like it, or when he was asked a question.

Mari grinned when the man plopped next to her, and sort of linked arms with him, unable to wipe she massive smile off her face. "Same here. Mari has been chatting none stop about you since we found her," she older woman chuckled warmly, giving the couple a huge grin. Mari seemed to flush up a little after a moment before standing up. "If you're lucky everyone else will be coming over soon... I'm sure my mother would love to thank you too," she grinned to the older woman. "I'll go set the table," Mari chirped before going over to the kitchen to make sure everything was perfect before inviting them in.

Sage chuckled slightly in response to the woman's comments. "I'm sure she did...she came right back in here when you dropped her off and took over the house again," he noted, throwing Mari a fond glance. "She refused to sit down until the collapsed for a while," he chuckled, unlooping his arms from hers when she moved to set the table, eventually moving the guests into the kitchen. He was happy to start dinner...he was admittedly getting pretty hungry. He supposed they had missed quite a few meals sleeping in. They had just entered the room when a slight knock sounded at the door and Silas burst in happily, taking a flying leap at Sage, who was by then obviously used to it and catching the boy with a grunt before finishing setting the plates down and turning to gett Edith, who was coming in with Lizzie in her arms. Silas had started talking to him by then, so all he could do was throw her a happy look before attempting to listen to Silas's unrelenting babble.

Mari felt her grin light up a little bit before giving him a happy little grin when she heard her mother and little Silas wandering in. "Hey," she grinned to her boy with a happy little grin. Soon enoug)c though, she'd set the table, her mother chatting happily to Liza as she came to sit at the table once they introduced one another. Silas seemed drawn to Ned, since the boy was a bit younger than everyone else, and he seemed to open up and play with the child a bit more. Mari looked over to Sage and flashed her teeth at him before getting the rest of the duck out of the oven.

Sage had set Silas down once the boy had started wriggling around, eager to meet everyone. Soon enough, he'd taken Liz off of Edith, so the older woman could chat with Liza and all the rest. He grinned back at Mari happily when she flashed him her grin, really just more than happy at how this was all going. Everyone seemed to be getting along well, which was very nice. He'd hoped it would go this well. Soon enough, they'd all sat down to eat, and after that he excused himself so he could grab the colt, so it would be out there when they came out to leave.

Mari smiled lightly when everything seemed to be sitting well... everyone loved the dinner, and seemed to be getting on nicely... which was definitely good. Her family and the people that saved her were gelling well, which settled her more than enough. She grinned at Sage when he left, sort of knowing what he was up to. They'd love it, and it was a Christmas gift that they definitely needed. Soon enough, everyone was finished up so they went to sit in the living room for a little while, and Mari went to finish up her cleaning until everyone said they were ready to go.

Sage had slipped out to the stables happily, definitely excited to surprise them. The colt he was grabbing popped his head over the stall door when he came near and scooped up the halter, and watched him wander towards him with a bright, curious expression on his face. He was still chewing hay, though he let sage clip his halter on without a fuss. Sage let the horse take another bite of hay before gently tugging him along. The tall bay pranced along next to him, happy to be out in the frisk air. He was definitely spirited, which was why the name comet went right with him. He was sort of a bright blood bay color, with a star and strip sort of zigzagging down one side of his face. A handsome fella, sage thought. And his confirmation was pretty much perfect....he was definitely a valuable horse. As he neared he house again, he noticed everyone sort of gathering outside as they said their goodbyes, and he grinned excitedly, more than happy to gift these people the colt. He greeted Mari again when he got over there, slipping his arm around her waist, the other keeping a loose hold on comet, who was poking his nose around to greet everyone curiously.
