Mari smiled lightly when she saw Sage wondering over, the colt seeming to very happy to be out with people. Silas ran over to him to pet the horse, and went to start fussing him when he stood still. "This is comet," Mari chirped happily, kind of leaning into Sage when she felt his arm wrap around her. The two guests sort of looked confused for a moment, and she flashed Sage one of the biggest grins. "He's for you, if you'd like him. Dinner just doesn't seem like though..." she hummed happily. She felt good that they were in a position to actually do this now, too... they didn't rely on the horses for money, or anything like that. They could afford to give someone a gift like this.

Sage sort of let Mari introduce the horse, nodding along with her comments, giving the pair a grin and offering Liza the lead rope. Comet, being the friendly one he was, immediately moved to huff a breath at her cheek and smell her gently in a sort of curious greeting. He chuckled and patted the colt on the neck happily. "We really can't thank you enough," he piped up after a moment, glancing over at Mari. "And she'd mentioned your mare was getting older, so we decided to hand off one you can use for a while. Put her out to just hang in the pasture and have some fun," he noted with a shrug. "He's around two years now....he's trained except for being backed, since he's still too young to be ridden. But he'll take a cinched saddle and bridle just fine," he informed them. Then his gaze turned slightly mischievous. "Just watch any hats you wear. He likes to snatch them and lead you on a game of keep away for it back," he chuckled fondly.

Mari sort of nodded along with what Sage was saying and gave a happy grin. The woman just seemed to excitable about it all... Elizabeth took the lead rope hesitantly but grinned after a moment and went to wrap her arms around the two. "He's wonderful, thank you," she chirped to them, her son soon coming to take ahold of the colt, who was getting a little bit more antsy now that he was stood still, but wasn't doing anything horrible at all. He seemed happy with the gift, too. Mari had a feeling it would become more of his horse than anything, and that was okay. He needed a friend. They soon said their goodbyes, and the colt trotted along next to the little cart and the old mare happily as they left. Her mother had wandered home by now, so it was just her and Sage stood in the doorway, and she could hear the kids running around not far away. She turned to Sage and gave the widest grin, sort of rocking back an forward on her heels for a moment moving to wrap her arms around his shoulders and moved to press a fairly firm kiss to his lips, kind of leaning on him too before stepping away, kind of taking his hand and wandering inside. "Come help me clean up," she mused softly to him.

Sage was more than happy to send them off with the horse trotting along after them, and turned back to Mari with a sort of sigh now that everyone had left. He'd enjoyed being with everyone, and meeting Liza and Ned, but it was nice and quiet now. Well, not quiet....but it was back to normal. Most like home. He let out a sort of surprised noise when Mari was suddenly in his arms, lips pressed firmly against his, but he just grinned and kissed her back, resting his hands on her hips lightly before nodding and following her inside, a dumb grin still on his face. They'd mostly cleaned up dinner already, but he got to work starting to wash dishes and everything while she wiped down all the counters again and put food away. Soon enough though, it was all clean and he moved to plop down on a kitchen chair with a tired but admittedly very happy huff of air.

Mari got to cleaning up happily, and it didn't take much for it all to be done. She grinned over to Sage after a moment or two when he flopped down on the seat, and moved to wrap an arm around his neck with a happy little grin as she went to sit down on his lap. "Thank you... for like, being nice," she teased him gently. She knew he was thankful, but she also knew that he was a bit sceptical of some people... she was just happy he wasn't on these people.

Sage chuckled lightly in response to Maris comments, wrapping his arms around her waist gently. Not really holding her there, just....holding her, he supposed. "It wasn't like we've never seen them before," he mused in a sort of amused manner. "Besides, if I wasn't nice I think you'd fillet me and serve sage meat for dinner," he joked lightly, pecking her forehead happily. He was pretty tired, though not quite ready for bed, he supposed. It just wasn't that time yet. But he was tired .. so maybe they could just cuddle for a bit or something. He knew she'd said she'd do something nice for him, but they were also sort of joking around, so he didn't really know if it would actually happen or not. And he supposed he didn't care all that much, but still.

Mari hummed softly to him after a moment or two before smiling happily. "Sage hun, you've seen lots of people before and been nothing but horrible," she mused to him happily. She smiled at his little peck and moved to sort of rest her head on his shoulder. "Hmm... I dunno, there's not enough meat on you to make a decent meal," she teased to him lightly before standing up to go and flop on the couch with a heavy sigh.

Sage chuckled lightly at her comment, resting his head on hers for a moment before gasping in mock offense at her other comment. "Do you mean to tell me you don't think I'm the hunkiest guy alive," he asked in a rather dramatic tone of voice, though the end of his sentence ended in a chuckle. He moved to follow her to the couch and flop down next to her once she moved over, just going with the habit of wanting to be near her.

Mari smiled lightly to the boy after a moment or two, and gave a happy hum when he came to sit next to her. "I think your the most hunkiest of the hunks, but I'm sure whoever has you on a dinner plate won't think so," she chuckled to him, kind of moving to run a hand up his back in a sort of soothing manner. He knew what she thought about him, she told him every day, and that wasn't likely to change. She smiled softly to him after a moment or two, and kind of went to press her thumb into a knot when she eventually found one.

Sage chuckled lightly at her comment, rather amused at how the conversation was going. He wasn't an incredibly large person...which he had to admit he didn't mind at all. Luther seemed to be too slow for Sage's likings quite often. The boy had had very low stamina. He'd enjoyed his company all the same though, and he did still miss him a great deal. He hummed happily when she reached over to run her fingers up and down his back, just happy to be there with her. The kids were off playing in another room happily, and it was quite nice. He grunted slightly when she pressed against the knot though, and he sort of shifted so she could reach his back better, sort of resting his head in her lap, more than happy to let her do what she wanted.
