Mari slept a bit rough that night, but it was sleep she suppose. She still felt like she'd done something wrong... maybe she'd upset him. She hoped not. She slept soundly until she woke about four in the morning, through when she found her husband wasn't in the bed with her, she sighed and went to roll over a little, opening her eyes a little bit and giving a small sigh. "What's are you doinggg," she groaned a little before moving a little to wrap herself up in the covers with a heavy sigh.

Sage hadn't realized how much time had gone past until he heard Maris voice and glanced up from his pile of now used papers and then the clock and then back to her, giving her a soft smile. "drawing," he hummed quietly. "You're up early," he noted with a slight chuckle. "Go back to sleep, babe," he hummed softly, sitting back in his chair slightly and setting his pencil down. "Don't let me keep you up."

Mari sort of shrugged to him and gave a small smile. "So are you," she murmured before sort of curling up under the blankets. She was sort of already falling asleep if she was being honest... though she was slightly curious as to why he was up now. She peered up at the clock before letting out a slightly exasperated groan. "It's four in the morning," she complained. "You shouldn't be drawing now," she murmured softly to him with a little bit of a chuckle. She sort of sighed at his last comment and gave a small nod before letting her eyes close again and drift back off to sleep.

Sage chuckled lightly at her comment and shrugged in a sort of agreement. "Can't sleep," he mused. "And I'm sure you'd prefer this to my tossing and turning in bed," he noted with a chuckle, moving to get up and tuck her back in once she'd settled down again, pecking her on the head gently once she'd drifted off with a sort of sigh. He lingered there for a bit, just watching her. And he couldn't help but feel like he didn't deserve this. Her. It was all so confusing, and he was definitely struggling, but he'd get over it. He had to. He couldn't wallow in his misery forever...he had a family. Maybe he didn't deserve it, but that just meant he'd have to work even harder to make up for....well, for himself. He went back to drawing soon enough though, finally passing out around seven thirty or so, on the stack of drawings that had accumulated over the night, pencil still in hand. Mark sort of slept through most of night after that, a small smile crossing her face after not too long... his little kiss had settled her nerves a little, but she still wasn't too sure what time she finally slipped off. She woke up at about eight the next morning and gave a small sigh when she saw her husband was still absent... but sitting at his table, seemingly passed out. She felt a small smile cross her face, and gathered up her blanket before wandering over and gently caping it over his shoulders. "Baby," she whispered softly to him, gently wrapping an arm around his side and taking the pencil from his hand and putting it back down. "Go sit in bed for a while... I'll bring you some breakfast," she whispered once he'd started to wake up.

Sage sort of groaned when he heard Mari come over to him, though reached over to draw the blanket around him tighter when he felt it slide around his shoulders. He lifted his head slightly to squint at the clock before dropping it again with a tired sigh. At her next comment though, he sort of just nodded meekly and let her push him over to the bed, not really awake enough to do more than just stable after her and collapse onto the mattress with a rather exhausted huff of air. He sort of peered up at Mari once he'd flopped down, though he passed out again pretty much right away again, head flopping onto her leg as he slipped off into sleep again. He doubted he'd sleep for long...but he'd gotten like an hour over the last two nights combined, so he hoped he'd be out deep enough to keep nightmares away for at least a few hours or so.

Mari helped him over after a little while, and sat with him for a little while when his hair rested on her. She gently played with his hair for a long while... just enjoying him looking so comfortable.... so safe. He still lost years when he slept... so she supposed she just wanted to seem him so calm again. So calm. She moved to press a light kiss to his cheek after a bit, and carefully moved down stairs without waking him. She made some breakfast for the two of them... just a little bit since she didn't want him wasting a lot... but took it back upstairs for him after a little while.

It was safe to say that Sage hadn't really registered anything once he'd passed out, but the rest was certainly welcome. And even now, there was a bit of comfort that came from having Mari there like that. She cared deeply for him, he knew that....so why was he so afraid of telling her what had happened? It didn't make any sense. ANd he didn't want to dwell on it or think about it at all. Soon enough though, the dreams started to come again, so he woke with a groan, burying his face in the pillow. Though, when just laying there seemed to only make the thoughts worse, he groaned again and moved to get up, wrapping the blanket around his shoulders as he wandered back to the desk and starting another drawing. He barely noticed when Mari came back into the room, though his nose twitched when he smelled food, and he glanced up, figuring it was her with breakfast. He was hungry to eat a little, he supposed. He'd have to anyway, unless he wanted even more things to go badly.

Mair smiled softly when she saw him in bed and put the plate of food on the side. "Here you go," she hummed softly to him before going to sit next to him as he started to wake up. He looked tied... she didn't know why he didn't sleep much last night, but she supposed the rest he'd just gotten had been pretty good for him. She hoped so, anyway. She kind of rested her head on his shoulder after a little bit and let out a heavy sigh. "Please eat this... if you didn't sleep you'll at least need a bit of energy."

Sage had sort of just stared at MAri dully for a moment before moving to glance at the plate of food. Well...at least it wasn't piled full. She'd seemed to sense he wasn't going to eat too much, which he was admittedly rather grateful for. "Thanks, babe," he hummed quietly, sort of reaching for the plate with a sigh when he registered her last comment. He did have to eat...he knew that. Especially since he really hadn't had all that much the past few days. But even so....even Mari's cooking just seemed...bland. Like he couldn't taste anything. It was all just...numb. It was a rather familiar feeling, he could admit, but not at all a good one, nor one he wanted to recall. He sort of picked at the food for a bit, forcing maybe half a pancake down his throat before sighing and handing her back the plate with a rather sheepish and apologetic loook. He just couldn't eat any more. He sort of flopped back onto the bed then with a sigh. He wished he could do better for her....but it just didn't seem like it was going to happen.
