Mari just sort of sat on her bed quietly, trying to feel a little bit more at peace with this whole thing... she hadn't had to drag him to the doctors ward in ages. What had changed? why how of all times did she have to do it? She just sort of sat on the bed pondering herself, not sure what to say or do as of now. She sat there for an hour, eventually looking over at Sage to find him sound asleep. She wanted nothing more than to go over there and wrap him in a warm hug, but refrained pretty quickly. She saw the doctor come in, and kept quiet as he did his check up. She thought quietly about what the matter with him was before shrugging. "He's been acting funny. He hasn't really spoken to me unless I try and get him to bad, because he hasn't been sleeping. And when he does get to bed, it's never more than an hours before he runs off," she murmured softly. "Sage had just been distant recently. Like he isn't with us. Like he doesn't want to be with us," she added quietly.

The doctor had sort of poked around for a moment before nodding with a sort of grunt in response to her comments. "Has anything happened," he asked. "Between you, or the kids, or something else?" It was a possiblity, for sure. "It could have triggered something," he mused. His mind was racing by then, with all of the possibilities. Though, when he noticed a few small remains of bruising on the boys wrists, he frowned and looked closer. "When was the last time you two did anything in bed," he asked bluntly. Maybe it was a bit crude, but he was the doctor, and right now he was starting to get a little bit concerned as to what exactly had happened.

Mark sort of looked at him in thought before shrugging. "No nothing as happened between any of us, I don't think," she murmured softly she hoped not, anyway... it was only the last day or so she'd gotten a little bit upset with Sage, but it wasn't his fault at all, so she didn't think he'd even noticed that. She kind of shrugged, though, her brows furrowing at his next question. "Christmas time, I think?" She sort of asked, a little confused as to where the questioning was coming from now.

The doctor sort of grunted and nodded, moving to point out the slight marks on his wrist, then found similar ones on the other. "I suppose that's not from you then," he noted, moving to reach for the edge of his shirt, though by then sage had jerked awake and looked up at the doctor bewildered. "What are you doing," he grumbled after a moment, shaking his hand off his wrist and sitting up slowly, rubbing his eyes. The doctor sort of snorted at the comment. "Figuring out what happened to you, since you apparently won't tell anyone," he snorted, pointing at his wrists. "You wanna try," He asked gently after a moment, but didn't let up on eye contact. Sage let an almost cornered look run over his face before sort of curling up in a ball and dropping his gaze. "I didn't want it," he sort of blurted quietly after a second, figuring that they knew something of that nature had happened, and he didn't want Mari to think he'd intentionally been with someone else. He was terrified she'd still be mad, though.

The girl looked over and sort of shook her head when he asked if the marks were from her. She'd never actually bruised him that badly... not for them to still be there so long after. For a moment, the worst scenarios had ran through her head... was he sleeping with other people? That would explain why he didn't want to get in bet with her... or have anything that was to do with her. He'd barely even eaten her food. She didn't know what else to think, and she felt a lump form in her throat when he woke up. She was about ready to confront him, though the doctor got in first. It seemed so odd that the boy would just open up because the doctor had asked... but her gazed softened the more he spoke and all she wanted to do was wrap him up and tell him everything was okay. She didn't know what to say to him... she would never have thought anything like this would happen to him again. And it had. And he didn't feel safe enough to tell her. "Babe," she murmured softly as she went to perch on the edge of the bed. "Hunny it's okay," she murmured quietly, flashing a really very concerned look to the doctor.

Sage hadn't really paid much attention to what all he'd said....he'd just answered the doctor's questions and stared at the ground, curling up into a sort of tighter ball the more he spoke. It was sort of an absentminded activity while he spoke ...and to be honest his comments were said without any thoughts too. He just didn't want to relive it all again. Everything was silent for a moment once the doctor had finished, though Mari broke the silence by moving over to his bed and speaking up. He opened his mouth to respond, though a lump formed in his throat and he couldn't get anything out. He sort of just shook his head. He'd dropped his gaze a while back, keeping his hair sort of covering his face, but now it covered it even more so. He didn't really agree that it was ok, but even so he sort of half moved towards the girl, then rocked back, obviously conflicted about it all. By then, the doctor had seemed to agree that they needed a moment alone, so he'd scuttled off to grab some things while the two of them talked.

Mari just sort of furrowed her brows at him quietly before sighing. None of this was really okay... what had happened to him wasn't okay, but what she knew was that he was safe now. He didn't have to worry or anything like that. And she wasn't going to get mad at him either... that really wouldn't help the situation. She frowned a little when he decided not to sit so close, but she wasn't going to force it at all. He didn't need that... she hoped not. "Babe, why didn't you say anything?" She asked him softly after a moment.

Sage had sort of just shrugged in response to her question at first before sighing and shaking his head again. "It don't know how," he finally admitted, really very quietly. "And I didn't want to upset you." He threw a quick glance over at her before his brows knotted together again and he looks back to the ground, swallowing hard in an effort to keep from sobbing or somehow freaking out. He was tense too, trying to stop the trembling...not that anything was working too well, since his voice was admittedly pretty thin and his knuckles were whitening on his arms. "I didn't know how you respond....I was scared of you getting mad," he blurted. Once that had come out, it seemed like he just could stop. "I should have fought more....I could have done something or... something," he he sort of just babbled. "I let it happen...." He'd sort of babbled for a while after that, though after a certain point Mari stopped him and he just...flopped onto her, attempting to choke back a sob.

Mari felt her heart start to ache for him the more he went on... she couldn't believe any of this had happened to him, and he'd not said anything. She didn't even know when it happened. She became less worried now and so... angry. Sage was one of the most wonderful people she knew and now... this? He just wanted to get home safely and some horrible women couldn't let that happen for some reason. She felt her heart ache even more, not sure what to say at all. He started trying to reason why it had happened, and she shook her head and shifted onto the bed a bit more so that he couldn't lean on her comfortably. "Oh, no, no it wasn't your fault," she murmured softly. "You did what you could. You were caught off guard, and things went south. It's really not your fault," she whispered softly him and went to run her hands up his shoulders in a kind of massage. "You don't have worry about upsetting me hun," she whispered to him. "I just want you to be okay," she murmured, eventually wrapping her arms around his sides before sitting back to gently play with hi hair. His little attempt and stopping his sobs seemed to make her chest ache, and all of a sudden she wanted to cry for him. Cry because he'd been so strong when he didn't have to be... but that wouldn't help the case one bit.

Sage sort of just shook his head in response to her comments, all the tension draining from his body. She wasn't mad....good, that was really what he was mostly worried about, he supposed. After a moment he sort of pulled back enough to wipe his eyes and nose and then settled back down against her with a huff of air. "I'm alright," he hummed. "It could have been worse," he added with a sort of shrug. (Bit short I gotta run lol)
