The girl gave a slightly mocking groan when she received a sloppy good morning from him, but smiled and rested her head back on the pillow. He was still tiered... but it was sort of sweet to see, if she was honest. She sort of liked it. He always looked so peaceful when he was asleep, and she could only smile at him. He looked younger too... he always had when he looked like this, she supposed. Which was wonderful to see too, considering the fact that he had started growing grey hairs. She had too, actually... it was odd to think that they were actually getting older now.

Sage sort of gave the girl a tired chuckle before curling up tighter again, burying his head in the crook of her neck before settling down again with a soft huff of air. She was up, but he figured she'd be more than happy to lay around and stay that way as long as possible. The kids weren't here, so that was perfectly fine to do, too. He figured she'd take the chance. And he definitely was....he was still catching up on sleep, really, so it was nice to just curl up and sort of drift off again. Which is more or less what he did.

Mari smiled at his chuckle, though curled up again soon enough. She sighed before letting her hands tighten around him. She was happy just to rest for a bit.. she got another half hour of sleep before she had to wake up at all. She sighed before crawling out of bed to make Sage some breakfast. Just some buttered toast and and a couple other bits and peices to go with it. And tea. She took the tray upstairs after a moment or two before sighing and moving to place it on the side of the bed. "Morning old man," she teased softly before patting his side to wake him up and going to get back in bed after a little bit.

Sage hadn't noticed when mari had left...he'd stayed asleep through her making breakfast. He sort of looked up groggily when she patted him, and blinked a few times before groaning and flopping his face back into the pillow with a huff of air. He'd somehow ended up face first in the bed, sprawled out sort of. He moved to make room for Mari when she came back under the covers, peering up at her still admittedly pretty sleepy. "You're the same age as me," he mused with a yawn, rolling so he was pressed against her again.

The girl gave a small chuckle before shrugging. "I am, that's true... but clearly I age better. You know, considering I don't need a warm bath to soothe my joints," she joked softly to him, sort of running a hand through his hair when he pressed up against her. "I brought you breakfast," she whispered to him gently before giving a little smile. "You need to eat something," she then added carefully to the boy, moving to sort of scratch his head with her nails in a soothing sort of way.

Sage chuckled lightly at the girls comments and shook his head on amusement. "Oh please....you were wanting a nice warm bath recently too," he snorted lightly. He yawned again and nodded in response to her comment about breakfast, sighing slightly and stretching, though keeping his head where she could scratch it....it felt nice. "I'll eat in a few minutes. Let me wake up a bit first," he chuckled slightly.

Mari smiled softly to him before huffing out a breath. "I don't need back rubs every ten minutes," she joked to him before giving a little bit of a stretch. "Though it would be nice," she teased him softly. She kind of smiled when she felt him move, more than happy to keep on scratching his head. "You've had about half an hour to wake up," she teased quietly, though she didn't actually care that much... it was just nice to have him there for a little while. Close to her, where she knew he was safe. And they didn't really have anything to do, either.

Sage snorted in response to her comment. "It's not every ten minutes," he huffed. Then he humemd lightly. "If you ever want one I'll give you one," he chuckled. "You know that." Then he groaned at her other comment, looking at the clock and then flopping his head back down. "Nope, I fell back asleep so it doesn't count," he chirped, giving her a cheeky grin.

The girl rolled her eyes at him in a jokey manner before shrugging. "Sure old man," she teased lightly before giving a bit of a chuckle. She gave a fairly sweet looking smile before shrugging carefully. "I don't mind too much. Plus, I'm not going to force you into giving me one in your elderly state," she sighed dramatically before shaking her head a little. "Not true! Not true. It does count, and if I'm up you have to be up too," she mused softly.

Sage sort of chuckled lightly, snorting at her comment and rolling his eyes. "We're like 27 years old," he huffed. "If I'm getting grey hairs it's from putting up with you for so long," he teased her lightly. "It does not," he he argued with a slight chuckle, sort of rolling over so his head was nestled in her lap. He was waking now...slowly, as always, but he was waking up.
