Mari kind of wandered in, letting Sage talk for a while before eventually sighing and sitting in the corner quietly. She didn't really say much - there wasn't exactly much to say. She didn't really know anything, and Sage seemed to know more about what to do than she did, anyway. She just watched the doctor moving about, sort of wondering what he was doing. She just wanted the kid to be okay. She didn't like this whole thing at all, but it wasn't exactly his fault. So she could hope he was okay.

Sage could admit he was a bit worried about the kid....but that was just because he'd be worried about anyone. And child he'd want to be healthy. None of this was his fault....and he deserved better than what he'd been given. He watched the doctor as he handled the baby, definitely glad to know he was experienced. Soon enough, the doctor had finished up and dissapeared for a moment before coming back and plopping down in a chair. "He seems healthy enough, but he's badly malnourished," he informed them. "He should have more energy than this, but once he gets a steady flow of milk in him he should perk up." He tossed a bag full of formula packets to Mari, informing her to have him eat whenever he was hungry for now.

Mari nodded gently to him after a moment or two before kind of looking over to the little kid with a heavy sigh. "Well, I could have told you that," she huffed to him after a moment or two. But at least he was mainly okay. That made her feel a bit better. She thanked the man after a moment or two, just sort of watching the kid as he was carriered around the room.

The doctor snorted in response to Maris comment before moving to grab a few various things that could help them, since they were obviously unprepared for it all. "just make sure to keep him warm," he said with a shrug. "And away from germs." Sage nodded along with a sort of heavy breath. It was rather uninformative information, but it was good to know the kid wasn't sick or hurt, he supposed. If that were the case he would have felt even worse about the whole situation.

The girl was just sort of glad that the baby was okay... no germs, and keep him warm. It was things that they were sure to do anyway, but it was a bit of a comfort that he wasn't really sick. He wasn't well, but he just needed some good food and somewhere warm. They could do that. And with the doctor helping and giving them what they needed, he'd be okay. "Thank you," she murmured softly to the older man, trying a little smile after a moment or two.

Sage sort of let out a sigh of relief once the doctor had handed the stuff off to Mari. He really was thankful for the old man....without him, many things would have been a whole lot different. He murmured his thanks when Mari piped in with hers, and the doctor gave them both a sort of smile and nod. "If you need anything, you know where to find me," he grunted with a shrug. "if you'd like....I can find the baby a permanent home once he's healthy enough to be moved," he added gently. "Talk about it once you get home." He'd shooed them out then, knowing they'd be wanting to get back to their kids soon.

Mari kind of smiled to the boy before moving to slip her hand into Sages. "Let's just get him home for now," she murmured softly to him before helping him into the cart. The picked the kids up, thanking her mother before heading back home. She made sure to get the little boy comfortable in bed before sitting down on the couch with a small sigh. "What are you thinking?" She asked him quietly to him before giving a small groan. She didn't want to make him uncomfortable... but they did need to discuss what they were going to do. This was a whole extra person they'd have to care for... and she didn't know if they could do it unless at least one of them wanted to care for him.

Sage agreed with his wife readily, admittedly rather anxious to get back home and to the kids. He settled onto the couch with a sigh once they'd gotten back, watching the kids run out to play in the yard before leaning into Mari with a slow sigh. "I don't know," he admitted. "I don't necessarily want to keep him....but I also don't want to just get rid of him either," he groaned, shaking his head slightly. "It's all just confusing. I don't know what I'm supposed to think," he mused. "But he is my son....and I do feel at least partially responsible for him, especially since I doubt his mother wants any part of it," he half grumbled, wondering how she could have just...given him up like that without a second thought. Heck, if he hadn't caught the bundle, she could've killed the boy on their front porch. It was all just very crazy.

The girl sighed to him after a moment. "Well it's up to you. But we can't look after him unless you really want to. He deserves to be be with people who are genuinely happy to have him here," she murmured softly to him after a moment before giving a small breath. "And there will be people that deserve him, too," she hummed softly to him. "And I know he's your son," she murmured to him, "but we have two other kids too," she then added. "They need to be cared for," she murmured, kind of feeling a little bit sheepish as she went on. It wasn't his fault at all... but she felt weird about it. Looking after her husbands kid would be fine, but it would looking after her husbands kid who'd he'd managed to have out of something so horrible that got her.

Sage let out a huge breath when she said it was up to him. "I know," he whispered. "I'll feel bad about something about it either way," he admitted with a shrug. "It'll just be hard to trust someone else to care for him I suppose," he mused after a moment. His childhood had been awful . ..He didn't really trust parents all that much. It took a lot for him to trust them not to hurt him, let alone the baby. But Mari was right...they had two other kids to care for, and the baby deserved someone who'd want to care for him. "Well, we can't do anything until he's healthy," he mused. "why don't we get him back up to where he's supposed to be then decide if we still want him in or out or whatever we're thinking then," he suggested softly, pinching the bridge of his nose in an attempt to get rid of the oncoming headache. He really just didn't know...and Mari would just have to be ok with that for now. He couldn't just change his emotions.
