Mari pouted at him. "I'd be more upset that you weren't angry. I'd probably be more worried that you weren't," she mused, a small squeak escaping her when he pulled her in, but grinned and turned to leave. "Love you," she called back to him happily before going to put the baby boy back to sleep before making some waffles up for the kids and Sage. She called him through after about half an hour, going to set the table and make some drinks up for everyone before getting the few small bowls full of fruit and some sweet sauces out as toppings.

Sage chuckled lightly in response to her comment, chirping "I love you too," to her over his shoulder as she moved to leave. He admittedly hadn't realized so long jad gone by until he heard her call him and he checked the small watch he kept on the easel so he knew what time it was. He finished up what he was doing and washed his brushes before wiping his hands and moving over to the kitchen. He had paint on his hands and probably face still, but whatever. He could wash up later.

Mari smiled lightly to him when he came in, and kind of ate happily before going to tidy up once they'd all done. The kids had gone outside to play about, and Mari was stuck inside going to care for the baby boy who'd started crying again. It hadn't even been that long. She sighed before going to scoop him up, gently bouncing him up and down, rocking him, basically everything she could and had done with her kids when they were younger, but he didn't really want to stop crying. She tried burping him, feeding him, changing him, but he was just whining none stop. She sighed and just sat there bouncing him, trying not to loose her temper too much.

Sage pecked Mari on the cheek happily when she greeted him, and sat down to eat. He sped up when the baby started crying, figuring Mari wouldn't want to deal with him very long. By the time he was done and had wandered in their direction, the kid still hadn't stopped whining, and Mari looked about ready to burst a line. "Why don't I take him," he suggested. "You look like you need a break," he added with a sigh, taking the little boy lightly from her. "Why are you still upset, little man," he asked the baby, sort of holding him up to look at him with a cocked head. Mari had always been good with kids....so the fact that the baby was still whining was admittedly a bit odd. Especially since the doctor had just said he was healthy other than malnutrition.

The woman looked over to him tiredly, sort of nodding and handing the child over to him before falling back on the couch. "I don't know what to do with him," she sighed, desperately trying not to feel bad for getting frustrated with the baby. It wasn't his fault. She groaned again when kid stopped crying, and sort of rubbed her forehead. "Maybe he just doesn't like me as much as he does you," she huffed to him with a bit of a chuckle.

Sage sort of grunted in a form of agreement to the girl before sighing when the baby stopped crying and moved to set him down, leaning against his chest. "Either that or he just likes being held a certain way," he mused, peering down at the baby. "And you just picky, little man," he cooed at the boy, which earned a wide grin and happy screech, along with flopping hands. He chuckled slightly in response, flopping against the couch with a sort of yawn.

The girl huffed out a breath before moving to lay down on the couch. "He just wants his dad," she rolled her eyes to him before rubbing her hands together quietly. "I think the kid is just a princess," she mused before kind of closing her eyes before letting herself sort of drift off. (this is suuuper short!)

(no worries lol!) Sage sort of grunted in response, not sure if he wanted the baby to get too attached. No, that wasn't it....well it was, but mostly he was just afraid to get too attached to the little guy himself. It was why he hadn't picked a name yet....if he did, he was just terrified he'd fall in love and then have to give him up. He'd done that with Att, and it still pained him horribly at times. He wasn't sure he could do that again. But the boy deserved a family who'd love him...and Mari obviously wasn't really willing to become the boys mother, so he was thinking that it would be better to give him to a family where he'd have two parents who really did love him. He just had to keep himself from getting attached....and it was so, so hard. He chuckled softly when Mari seemed to drift off, so he set the baby down to drape a blanket over her before scooping him up and settling him in a high chair in his studio, where he could keep an eye on the kids, the baby, and work all at the same time.

Mari rested on the couch quietly, just happy to relax. This new baby seemed to be worrying her a little. She wasn't a particularly frustrated person... she didn't like getting angry, especially not at a baby who didn't know any better, but she just felt so useless. And it hurt to some extent... this was Sages child, so she should be able to love him like her own, right? She liked most kids, so she just should be able to love this one, too... surely, anyway. Especially when she could see her husband so happy with him. She just fell into a deeper sleep, though, trying not to feel so awful about all of this.

Sage eventually just moved to work for a while, painting for a few hours until he heard Silas calling for him. The boy wanted to go down to the barn...and he supposed the horses would be wanting their breakfast about now, so he cleaned the brushes up and moved to scoop up the baby, settling him in the crib and checking on Mari before taking a hand of Silas and a hand of Liz and wandering down to the barn with the two of them, more than happy to get outside and all. It was always nice to get down to the barn. He gave the kids some brushes, and they ran over to their little pony, more than happy to play around and brush the fuzzy little guy. Well, he wasn't super little...he was big enough for them to ride for a while as they grew, but he did seem rather short and fat compared to the other horses, especially when Sage was so used to Chaos. But Brownie had a personality, and he was pretty sweet to the kids, so he adored the pony just as much as the kids. Plus...he preoccupied them while he worked, which was nice to some extent.
